SMTxFE not cancelled!

WOO!

Does anyone else find it odd that the attachment used to connect the 3DS display to projectors/screens on the show floor of E3 2014 looks very simple?

Is the hardware different, or could these hookups work on unmodded consumer models? Just curious if anyone has knowledge of this, it's interesting Nintendo chooses not to release it as an extension, but I could see why given production cost and firmware upgrades along with it depreciating the WiiU gamepad.

It's different hardware. Dev kit has video out.

And it's a pretty hefty mod, not for consumers. There is a homebrew equivalent, but it's around £300.

My guess is SMT/FE is a early 2016 game and too early to be shown off. It was announced early 2013 but it was literally just a teaser. Who knows if it was even in full development yet. 2.5-3 years for such a crossover may not be much of a stretch

I feel like this maybe too much into one game. Kind of like Spider-Man 3. Also

Nintendo aren't supposed to cater their games to what we want. They should simply tell us what we want. They dictate we realize that yes! We like that.

Wish it was on Wii U instead. But we'll see from the Treehouse presentation tomorrow

SMTxFE could be anywhere from "show at TGS" level to "The Last Guardian" level. I remain cautious even though I don't really care much for the title.

Do any of you truly honestly give a shit what this game looks like?

Slightly.

But not enough for it to matter if the gameplay is what it sounds like it is.

Edit: That said, it looks exactly as I expected it would (though I thought less vibrant colors for some reason). Curious to see it in motion.

The game looks exactly how it was described. Maybe some of you guys were expecting a more fire emblem-eastern type of art style, dunno.
The devs said the art was inspired by Jack Kirby and Mike Mignola, but I'm not really seeing that here.

I mean, at most, the environments -kind of- look like Mignola.

Cool. Confirmation they just announced FExSMT way too damn early.

At least all of the new 2015 announcements so far have had some actual content shown.

This went from huge hype to meh in just a few seconds.

But if it plays sorta like Valkyria Chronicles, that's a good thing.
It's a good thing that Nintendo is taking risks on new IPs. It's even better that they're doing something so radically different in terms of art direction.

3DS screens usually look pretty bad. I want to see it moving.

The game was announced last year. Why on earth are we comparing it to The Last Guardian? Please continue dishing out the ridiculous comparisons.

Alright, tomorrow they are going to be showing a lot of this game, by then the hype will cool off and I can think rationally.

I'm shocked to see so many people get hyped about the gameplay and then stop caring because of the artstyle, it looks cool.

Art style really puts a huge damper on it to me, game play needs to be god tier.
Looks like some android/ios hand off.
Valkyria Chronicles my ass.

Yup, reminds me of Freedom Force from the screenshots. Not a bad thing at all.

I think most people are disappointed because the game looks a bit like shovelware from a no-name western developer.
