I didn't mind that on turn based RPGs or sprite based like FE, but on something like that... :/ Is XCOM like that too?
Unless the enemies are in overwatch, then yea.

is this explicit? if so, and if somehow there will be references, I'd buy millions of copies of this game..!
Everyone is taking influence from The Last of Us.
Really hoping they release this game's OST because it's just SOOO GOOOOOD. Rest of the game looks good too, of course.
That reminds me, I've yet to buy FE:A's...
Hm not digging that art style at all, the color palette honestly looks pretty ugly, but the Valkyria Chronicles gameplay looks good. Also they seem pretty confused about Steampunk style, which was more Victorian age, yet they are using 1930s Art Deco fonts....
I feel like theres going to be another reveal at the end of the Treehouse streams
Yes, the lead artist just said it herself.
I'm in exactly the same boat, my friend. This game looks great and I'll probably buy it day one but I'm not a huge fan of the visuals.I'm so confused at some of the, "HAHA, look at all these people changing their minds, we were right ALL along" post. And the funny thing is I think the game looks really fun.
When I saw the pics last night, I thought it looked a bit on the weird side visually. It has nothing to do with graphic whoring, but I thought games like Fire Emblem, Valkyria Chronicles, and even Advanced Wars have a more distinct memorable look to them. This is a bit on the generic side, and isn't as exciting visually. That is all I'm really saying, I'll probably have this in my 3DS collection day one though lol.
Nintendo: Fuck yes. Clearly that is what our fans in the West want.
(Nintendo HQ, circa 2013..)
Intelligent Systems exec: Our extremely Japanese, anime-influenced Fire Emblem: Awakening was a surprise hit in the West. How should we capitalize on its success?
Nintendo exec: Well certainly another turn-based strategy game is in order.
Intelligent Systems: Awakening followup?
Nintendo: Nah, too soon.
Intelligent Systems: Advance Wars?
Nintendo: (laughs)
Intelligent Systems: What, then?
Nintendo: .......
Intelligent Systems: .......
(Both executives' eyes widen, as they look up at each other and scream in unison)
Nintendo and Intelligent Systems: ABRAHAM LINCOLN AND AMERICAN COMICS VS. ALIENS!
Intelligent Systems: With graphics from 2008?
Nintendo: Fuck yes. Clearly that is what our fans in the West want.
Not me. I like it. Sounds fitting. The voice acting, what little I hear of it, makes me a little sad.

Well there is a black characterAre they going to give an origin story for the characters? Alternate universe aside, this is around the time of the Emancipation Proclamation. Seems like a Nintendo-affiliated game will have to address slavery in some form.
XIII style? The attack animations are wasted potential. They should have went with comic book style panels to illustrate hitting an enemy or getting hit.

Hmm, no overhead map may make this game quite hard to plan around unlike most tbs games. Not too sure if that's a good idea.
What a great pic.

3DS Smash Bros. in 10 minutes.
I don't have a problem with the games visuals, but I gotta admit that I prefer the anime / FE:awakening look.

A Space setting would of been ideal for the game; the art style is off-putting to some and might impact the game sales as a result.
Smash Run? Smash Run.
The voice acting, what little I hear of it, makes me a little sad.
So, Fox is a mexican. Henry is american. Where are John and Lion from?
More SmashBros 3ds is next
