So why do soldiers who get fultoned join Big Boss? They get tortured or what? Everyone magically becomes buddies? I think this aspect of the game is lazy. The idea that you can't make a recruiting system fun unless you make it this gamey is wrong. It could be much more interesting if there was actual to depth to being able to recruit people or steal equipment, not just attach a dumb balloon. Like if you want to steal a jeep, you have to call a transport chopper, which is more likely to get noticed, and actually drive it into it. But since it's more difficult to steal, it provides an opportunity to carry more people who you might have freed. Stealing a big cargo truck is really difficult because it's slow, but it could carry a lot of merchandise and people. If you free a prisoner, you could give them a weapon and they can try to make their way out on their own, but if you want to increase the chance they survive you could escort them to the chopper. Also the better the items you give him, the more likely he is to manage to escape. If you want to make it easier for your chopper to land, you could destroy some military hardware/depot/alarms/radars, etc.

That to me would be a much better way of using a sand box world. A balloon is too much of a shortcut that gets around trying to actually make the whole concept deeper.

In PW, weren't the enemy soldiers not 100% recruited. Usually the prisoner came over quickly because of Amanda.
 
Well from those comments I gather next year E3 2015 MGO is put on display. E3 2016 Phantom Pain will be showcased again and with a release date of 2017 which will mark 30 years of MGS.

Metal Gear Solid V: A Soldier's Heaven where you play as Solid Snake and kill Big Boss.
 
maybe he is implying that E3 IS over, and by see it next year well we do know it is a yearly event people wait for

Kojima will show it off in his home to a private group of 5 trusted individuals--one of whom will betray him and leak a brief offscreen gameplay clip online--and then he will promptly destroy the game down to the last line of code.

Then he will tweet "Got some new ideas for MGS6 I want to try out". And then we will all heave a collective sigh, and begin to wait.
 
I wouldn't jump to any conclusions regarding the game itself from that tweet. Given Kojima's status in the industry, I imagine he goes to E3 whether he has a game to show or not.
 
Ι am wondering if we will be able to customize Big Boss appearance in any way. I know of course there would be different uniforms, I am referring mostly to facecamos, packs, hell even paint that robotic arm of his a custom color!

Would be cool no?

It'd be cool, but I doubt packs, custom arm colors, or facecamo's will be in the game. The only thing I see happening is a loadout screen like in PW.

Wait..so big boss was in 2 comas? The first when they started Les Enfants Terirbles and another one that lasted 9 years in between Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain?

...or was the first coma retconned out?

That first coma never happened. It was a translation error in MGS1. In the original Japanese, Liquid just said that "Father was wounded and became sterile."

Of course that was also retconned by Snake Eater.
