Xenoblade X (Cross) releasing in 2015 (Xenoblade Chronicles X in the US)

I really don't think the stories of Xenoblade and X are related at all after knowing a bit more about the story. The way X starts out, it was Earth with our cities, landmarks, continents, etc. (obviously had more tech and was in the future). But with Xenoblade,
the end of the game is nothing like that. It's just the ruins of the Bionis in the ocean and you can even see the Mechonis Fallen Arm/Hand in the distance. Xenoblade's world at the end is nothing at all like Earth... minus having salty sea water!

Nopons are likely only there as the token funny/furry race and as a nod to Xenoblade.

It's similar to how moogles are in every FF. This game would be what FF8 is to FF7.

So, I'm sure everyone else noticed it already, but the weather indicator on the HUD has changed drastically since the reveal.
It's not as intrusive now.

Listening to Xenoblade Let's plays, I had forgotten how well the localization was done.

Those accents make it more...unusual? So it fits with the whole unknown setting.

Does anyone have a link to the IGN footage ? I recall they had a lot sharper resolution stream, YouTube is all blurry on 1080P doesn't do the game any justice.

The accents are definitely a good addition. Overall I thought the actual voice casting and direction was pretty good in Xenoblade, it's just the dry and stilted translation which lets it down. A more liberal localisation would have worked wonders.

is there a way to voice this to Nintendo? I would love to play Xenoblade with the Wii U Pro Controller

You can ask, but I doubt it will happen. The work involved would be insane and the team that would do it is already hard at work on this game.

So I just watched the 40 mins treehouse demo that did, it looks like xenoblade, but like....better in every single way.
AND OH MY GOD NEO LOS ANGELOS, I NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED TO EXPLORE A TOWN OF ALL THINGS IN MY LIFE

The Eshop video is better quality? I don't really see it. Huh.

I wouldnt know about that stuff, but it assurdly should look better than my laptop, if I was to watch it on my laptop. I dont know which video has the space rihanna tho, it seems to be the only video on the eshop

Is it possible to rip from eShop? or are we stuck with YT video?

What happened to Tilmen (I think that was his name), he ripped the first two trailers from the eShop. Since he vanished no one else has been capturing eShop footage including Gamersyde :(

Didn't know where else to put it, but a favorite Let's Player of mine is Lping Xenoblade Chronicles next

Here's why I thought this was relevant. if someone here wants the game but won't pay the extra money for it, he has 30 (!!!!) copies ofthe game he's going to give out throughout the Let's Play, 4 of which are BRAND NEW!!!!

Just in case anybody wanted the to play XC.

I might just try to get this myself, although I have XC, and if I get a new copy I'll mail my current one (have next to no progress so far) or if I get a used one I'll mail that to a fellow GAFer

Anyways, when do you expect this game to come out. I expect Zelda U to be the big November/December game, and Splatoon is early half of the year., so I'm feeling this to be right before summer, during summer, or maybe September.

Would benefit imo from the summer drought

EDIT: If this doesn't belong here tell me and I'll edit it out
EDIT2: PFFFTTT
If I was drinking something I would've spit it out, he's going for EVERY SINGLE QUEST IN THE GAME, and knowing him, he'll go through it

Space Rihanna is in the second Treehouse Live demo, which so far isn't on the eShop:

I'm telling you, as soon as I saw that I could play as Rihanna, I stopped caring about "no Shulk", haha

I'd be stoked if it released during the summer. XC released Summer in Japan 2010 so that marks 5 years.

Also it would give me a lot of time to playthrough it.

The only sad thing is, and I don't know if someone's already said it here or elsewhere before, that the trailers already shows you're from a ship labeled United States, in a city pod named Neo Los Angeles. The idea of characters speaking with British Accents... Would be incongruous, to say the least... I feel like they've already painted themselves into a corner as far as that aspcet of localization goes. :/

Because British people are incapable of living in the US? America has been called the melting pot of culture considering many people from different area's of the world have made their home there. Just because the colony structure is originated from the US does not mean the populace should be limited to a generalization of people.

My first time seeing that, wow game looks so amazing and fun

Since it was suppose to be a 2014 game, I could see it being a late Spring game maybe May I really dont think it should be coming to its third E3 needs to be out before next years E3.

Was Xenoblade CX announced for 2015 in Japan too?

How can I break it to my friends and family that I want to play a game so aggressively anime?

I actually hadn't played JRPGs before Xenoblade, only some WRPGs like Elder Scrolls and KOTOR. I blame it on the Westernized library of the N64 setting the tone for my gaming habits since childhood. True, Nintendo provided Japanese games, but really, most Nintendo franchises weren't "animeish" like many of the PlayStation games were. From what I understand, Xenoblade was said to be a kind of fusion of western and Japanese ideas. So maybe that's why I took to it very well. But the story and some of the aesthetics are undoubtedly Japanese, the way I'd think of an animeish PlayStation/PlayStation 2 game. I'm thinking though that following Nintendo's strategy of designing games for wide appeal, Monolithsoft wanted to do something that could help JRPGs appeal to western players as well as Japanese players. I'll be honest though, I only got Xenoblade after seeing the high review scores, the sword on the cover and, thinking "Swords!?! A grand, epic adventure? Nintendo made this? Okay, I'll give it a try."

Besides, for a true California experience, they'll have to, like, say, "like", after every word, because they're, like, in California! (Seriously, even I catch myself doing that without intending to.)

I don't really understand why Takahashi wouldn't bring back XB's composers considering its quality and acclaim.

The score so far doesn't sound nearly as immediately special.

it could be our biase because we love Xenoblade music so much

it may take a while for me to accept the missing colors and music in X

Love this one. Sawano music is glorious.

Yeah that song is awesome.

He wants a different direction? I'd personally wait until we have a bunch of good uploads to judge. IDK if it'll be as good as Xenoblade in the end, but I'm not too worried about the soundtrack. Sawano is solid and Takahashi will probably give him good direction. Especially after how good Xenosaga 3 and Xenoblade sounded beforehand.

When I saw Sawano's named blazoned on the trailer, I guessed that his name had a great deal of drawing power in Japan. Hearing the stuff, you're right - it doesn't hit me instantly like, say, Uematsu, Joe Hisaishi or John Williams music. But I think given a chance and the scale of the game, it may actually be more suited. I think the music so far seems to have a deeper and darker scope vs. feel good kickassery.

Give it a chance. Great works of art often have a barrier to appreciation.

Not sure if well-crafted troll post, or genuinely immature and insecure.

I think that could be a legitamite feeling though! Like I said, Xenoblade kept an animeish demeanor while having gameplay that could be appealing to WRPG fans. So it's possible that Xenoblade X takes that farther (what with the customizable character, the new aesthetic with less saturated colors, the online component) but at the same time, it is undoubtedly a Japanese product. Mario, Zelda, and Metroid are some series that are associated with Nintendo's core players, but it could be new for some Nintendo gamers who like those series to think of Nintendo as making such a big game as Xenoblade that is animeish as well. And Xenoblade X is a huge game too, isn't it being made by a team of over 100 people? Nintendo putting that many resources into an "animeish" game probably means they want it to appeal to people who might not initially think they could find a game such as this appealing. And of course, its first reveal of live gameplay was done at E3 by Western Nintendo employees, even though the text and dubbing were still Japanese. Nintendo has an opportunity to introduce some more "Japanese" flavored games to their core fans, and I hope some of those core fans can be adventurous enough to try them.

To be fair, all Xeno games are designed with the anime look. I don't think Takahashi wants that changed. But yeah, all trailers were so far at E3, right? building an audience for it that makes it more successful than Xenoblade Chronicles, I hope.

Why are there still people trying to find some (story-)connection between Xenoblade and "Xenocross"? Are people really that used to sequels now that a standalone game isn't "acceptable" anymore? Basically the same thing with all the zelda timeline crap... why does everything has to connect?
I just can't wrap my head around that.

Yep.

You wouldn't watch an anime dub.

Or would you....?

well... I wouldn't watch an american dub, that's for sure.
other than that.... maybe?

The fear of being childish paradox.

Again, this wouldn't be so prevalent if they hadn't insisted on that awful title.

I think it's more a reservation about trying something that is blatantly Japanese. The Zelda series is Japanese made, for instance, but it's not as blatantly Japanese as Xenoblade or this game are.

For instance, I've read posts before that say "Nintendo excluded" when discussing Japanese games and the West, and I take that to mean that those animeish games, such as Square-Enix's, are what they mean by "Japanese games", rather than something like Twilight Princess.

But Final Fantasy games were never had a direct connection with each other though, despite sharing the same title.

People will just get used to the title. And looking for connections and all that stuff is discussion-worthy once a lot of people have finished the new game.
