Final Fantasy 5 Four Job Fiesta 2014: That Classic Taste [now ending]

Despite having drawn Thief, I'm paranoid about running in my early game in case I draw a Knight on Random (which is certainly a possibility).

I'm in the middle of a Comprehensive Jobs "max achievement" run where I'm pursuing the Brave Blade. Just about to raid Exdeath's castle in World 2 on that one.

White Mage for, what's it been now, the third time (out of four)? As always, it's nice to have a healer throughout the game and a heavy-hitter in the late-game.

Dunno. What are the pros and cons of running or not running, apart from the Brave Blade/Chicken Knife? The only one I immediately think of is "running would make the run a hell of a lot shorter".

The biggest issue with not running is dealing with the monsters in Walse Castle's basement in World 1. You can get some useful stuff down there, but those demons are simply designed to be run away from. Last year I got Knight and did a no-run go, and I had to reset until I was able to get in and out without a random battle. I think I actually beat one of the those monsters once? It wasn't even polite enough to give me any experience.

Yuck, didn't know that. Guess it's something to think about it, maybe do some more research. Thanks.

If you're playing the gba version you could cheat with the quick save abuse I guess

Update Time!

Same as it ever was.

Annoying boss with a Thief run, considering you only have two weapons at this time.

Spent a while farming Daggers, then leveled everyone to level 10 (lots of ABP here).

Party of level 10 Thieves laugh off Siren. She didn't even get a hit in, and died to the first potion in her undead phase.

Ready for North Mountain, to pick up some sunglasses (oh, and a dragon).

Using SFC cart, so that's not an option. :/ Maybe grinding would help, or I could just skip it and come back later?
You could come back later I guess, the best thing out of there is an Elven Mantle, not sure what else is particularly noteworthy.

Literally every single Random-Berserker Risk player that pestered Gilgabot for their draw early has a 2nd Berserker nesting in their Earth Crystal spot.

That's enough evidence to force me to remain in suspense. It's not like my next job is going to be a surprise at all. I just don't want that second one.

More.

Managed to kill Magissa right after she summoned Forza; had I not healed Lenna's poison, she wouldn't have summoned him at all. She wasn't able to get Regen on him, though.

Stole a full compliment of Mythril Daggers, and fough Ricard Mages until I reached level 12 (actually got 6 Flame Rods in the process, $). Wailed on Garula until he started counterattacking, then put 3 in the back row for healing and 1 in the front for attacking. Standard Thief tactics.

And now the long nightmare begins. I have my first Berserker.

They have a good synergy but in the early game they're a bummer.
Had them twice last year and sort of agree. Thief is already the most annoying beginning but Berserker adds some much needed offense. They can also get in the way of hi potion stealing though and if you get Geomancer for your third then Sandworm is not going to be fun at all!

RevenantKioku is actually doing a run this year. Classic Run, Thief/White/Thief/Knight.

I pity his time in the First World.

Edit: On second thought, Natural means Freelancers. First world might not be too bad.

Hot damn my Berserker was MVP against Archeoaevis. Two-handing a Death Sickle doing over 1000 a shot. I would've had a lot more trouble without him. Well done, Buttz.

All the same, I'm glad I got away without a second one! I've got Dragoon on the last slot. This is going to be a very physical game.

Dat Axe formula. Live by it. Die by it.

Finally something to get me to stop playing Tomodachi Life!

So, not gonna lie, I abused the auto-battle feature present in the ios version at first. Figured I'd blow through the first boss before I had to worry about paying attention

I figured wrong. Totally forgot about the counterattack when this thing turtles down. Did it always do that?

Whatever. I reload and pay attention this time.

That's more like if. So what's up for me me first this year, gilgabot?

God damn it Gilgabot. You had one job. One job!

Sure I'll be glad for white mage later on but it's gonna suck for the next little while.

The third job is Ranger! That means that I have to defeat Byblos with the feared berserker + thief team. I've never done this and I think I'm not ready.

Here are my beloved characters training:

It's easy. Three berserkers using your best axe will rip him to shreds. Heal with thief.

And I have Monk this year. Last year was Knight, and the year before was Thief.

You know Gilgabot, I wouldn't mind actually using a Wind crystal mage for once... Maybe I'll do a #750 run after this for a change of pace. Also, my brother wants to put in a request to stop giving him Red Mage every time.

Think I'm going to do this for once this year. Just did my registration on twitter and got Blue Mage for my first class. Going to be super tricky for awhile but lot of awesome potential there.

Question though - how do I find out my other three classes?

Well, magissa got my white mages good, drain just anahileted me.
Not even silence could save me

Edit: second time is the charm, had some bad luck with lots of missed silences and annoying aeras

After you get to each other crystal tweet @ff5fotfortunes and include #water , #fire and #earth after each respective crystal

Damn, this looks pretty cool. I'm kinda interested as well. However, I've never played FF V, nor have I ever participated in such an event.
