Will the full game have any sort of PVP in the Explore mode? Can I run into another player and start fighting? Is there a PVP mode where your stats matter?
 
I know this is a "serious" game, but I wish they would go crazy with the weapons, I mean, it's fucking sci fi and we still have the machine guns, rifles, rocket launchers.

GIVE ME CRAZY SHIT, Cerebral Bore, Nuke Weapon, whatever, this is not call of duty, you can go make whatever the fuck you want Bungie.

Except for the part where you have to balance out those crazy weapons in competitive pvp. :P Halo had plenty of alien guns, but let's take into account that you take every crazy weapon you can find into pvp. ;)
 
So the only way to upgrade your weapons is an auto upgrade when used enough or i am missing it? Also trying to pvp with no decent weapon is an exercise in frustration.

So what's the trick to making the melee not suck?

Warlock melee is godlike!
 
The multiplayer mode in this alpha is so fucking fun. I can't wait for all the other modes when its released. I'm pretty much sold on this game after playing the alpha this weekend.
 
All guns do the same damage.

It's not so much the damage as what kind of crazy effects alien guns would generate. :p The Resistance franchise has guns which can shoot through walls or lock on to an enemy once you tag him and let's not forget that magnum from which bullets can be remotely detonated. I'm sure we will see alien guns, but it's just a matter of making them balanced for pve and pvp.

It's such good fun with friends (I don't play online much).

1) Are there any energy type auto rifles similar to that rail gun in Killzone Shadowfall?

2) I saw someone with a vehicle that had a gun attached.. How do I get that vehicle? I bought a Seeker

That's pretty much how I feel. I played enough to see that its more than solid where it counts. Any more of the alpha, or even the upcoming beta would just be a tease for me.
 
If the beta doesn't include any new content, think I'll skip it and give my code to someone on GAF. I already know how good the game is going to be. I'd be curious about the changes they'd implement though such as the respawn rate, FOV and locked content.
 
Also, Hunter's second type of grenade is awesome. Throw grenade, deploy seeking explosives.

I hate it and was happy when it let me return to the way it was originally. The grenade that deploys a bunch of tiny explosives does a little damage to all enemies in the vicinity whereas the default grenade is powerful enough to kill everything in its immediate(albeit smaller) radius.

Plus it really isn't too far from release now.
It will just be all the more special to jump back into that world again knowing you wont be limited by anything.
 
I wonder how many downloads that code on FB is good for. I'm guessing they want a huge stress test tonight.

damnit not working for me...actually i think that just might be another single alpha code. sounds like the mission is available to everyone who is in the alpha

In Legend, blast radius is all but useless. The second grenade is infinitely better for taking out single targets, (which the super shield guys are the actual problem in Legend difficulty).

All the blasts will hone in on the one enemy if you throw it directly at it. It will instantly take off their shields.

I still haven't ventured into Legend yet. But thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try.

A couple of friends of mine who did not get in the Alpha are also trying to use the code; they said the PS store is throwing errors. Too much traffic maybe?

If you manage to hit an enemy with the grenade, all the explosives will focus their damage on that.

Plus it's a great way to block entrances.
 
Can't believe it ran so well via remote play. They did some smart things with the controls. Essentially ignored back touch thank god.

For a game with the potential to just kind of grind when you're bored, that will be awesomely useful.
 
I'm curious, what type of gun is everyone using? I've taken a huge liking to the Scout Rifles myself though I have yet to find one that does a ton of damage.

The hunter is definitely my class, really like having a thrown melee even if its on a cooldown and a true double jump. The warlock is good too but not feeling the titan at all. Also wish they set up a way to queue into a Strike from the tower, because having to go into orbit and then again look at another screen is annoying,
 
Been trying some of the warlock tips out. The jump is growing on me and I just realized that the melee actually has a range to it. If there are robes that are as cool as the capes, I might make the switch, although I'll still keep a Hunter class handy.

I was mainly Scout in the beginning until I found some good auto rifles that did high damage and had little recoil semi-auto. I have a really powerful burst-fire one on my Warlock right now, but the mag runs out too quick.

Auto/Scout, Sniper and Machine Gun for me.
