Lebron James' NBA Finals record is now 2-3, fails to 3-peat this year

Does this change your perception of him? I say he's still a great player and played really well this series, it's just that his teammates were pretty much non-existent and the opposition was just too good. Also, I found this post funny:

Then Lebron said "I'm gonna threepeat too"

He was carrying the team on his back (including in the regular season when Wade sat out, what, a third of it?). Most of the blame should go on Wade, Chalmers, and their bench.

It's not entirely his fault. Obviously he shares blame, but the Spurs were the better team and the Heat didn't follow his momentum he built in the 1st quarter tonight.

My opinion of him remains. Great player, probably the best single player in the league right now, but basketball is a team sport and one man just isn't enough.

I been telling people this. Lebron need to win at least 8 more rings without losing to be compared to Jordan. He now at -1 when it come to the Finals.

The Lebron hate is pretty pathetic IMO. 2 championships, still the best player in the world. He'll come back, I think the Heat will too. People will always find a reason to hate Lebron, it's laughable.

Spurs are the best team in the world. That was amazingly clear the whole series. They're great to watch too.

LeBron James will probably go down as the greatest basketball player of all time statistically when all is said and done. It's crazy that every season he's been in the league that doesn't end in an NBA championship title is considered a disappointment. No other player is held to that standard because that's how good LeBron James is.

It should be about how many 'ships you win, and not your percentage in them. If he had lost in the Eastern Conference finals those 5 times, would his record be more impressive because he was 2-0?

I could put up a pretty good argument that Lebron had a better supporting cast around him on some of the Cavs teams then he does now with the Heat.

The thing I don't get about Lebron is how he just vanishes for long stretches. Sure his stats are super efficient and amazing, but he's gotta stop disappearing.

He's somewhere in the top 10 all time. He's a great player, if he had a little help the finals wouldn't have been so one sided. Time for D-Wade to retire, 30 something with the knees of an 80 year old.

Jordan's Bulls didn't have to compete against an all time great coach and three hall of famers. Jordan nostalgia is the worst.

This is junk. Jordan's Bulls played some great teams in their finals.

Lebron just needs help. Playing with 2 of the top 5 players in his draft class/2 of the top 20 players in the league, the greatest shooter of all time/future HOF (who actually won him the ring last year), and several quality bench players custom-picked for/by him was not enough.

He can't do it alone, you know. Wade isn't a generational talent, and Bosh is not an all-star/franchise talent; he's just a stretch forward, and not specifically because of the Heat system.

Lebron needs more all-stars.

...I thought the whole point of him coming to Miami was so he could play on a stacked team?

they stacked it for short term.. star studded veteran players that do not have the durability to win multiple championships. Underestimated how much Wade deteriorated. Didn't get prospects and build them around LeBron. He doesn't have that luxury of time either, he wasted 7 years in Cleveland. So yeah a top-heavy team with a bunch of vets out of their prime years and shallow bench.

No, his *team* with 3 all-stars is held to that standard. He didn't have that expectation in Cleveland. It was just hope there.

You're confused.

The fuck am I reading, GAF?

The Heat are the only team with 3 all stars?

Lebron PLAYED with All-Stars/Top 20 talents. Wade is far from that, and Bosh is merely decent. The bench was nonexistent, Heat looked worse than a few of the Western playoff teams IMO.
