XBL: Games with Gold

Does it allow re-download later like PS+ does? Also if my subscription lapses and I renew does it allow re-download? Will grab them now.

No, for PS+ and X1, if the "free" offer elapses and the content is not still up for a free offer, you no longer have access. Xbox 360 the games are still yours, but X1 work's like PS+, where the content is gone even when you re-subscribe.

That's not what he is asking though. He is asking if he can redownload games when they are no longer available on the service or if he can redownload games when he let the subscription end for a while and then subs again. The answer to both is yes, as long as he as put it on the download list when they were available.

Dead Rising 3 on the Australian page:

Ah, I would be well chuffed if the UK gets Dead Rising!

(Looks like it's just on sale on the Australian marketplace, down to $59.95 from $89.70)

Seems a bit shady if true, especially as its still the current Deal with Gold.

"Buy it cheap this week, or its free the next!"

You don't code a whole bespoke DIV into a webpage, put it through verification to be signed off and then upload it to live site by mistake.

A link or a word here and there maybe, but not something like this.

its on sale so maybe someone got confused. its not free on any marketplace.

its not even july

I would be very happy with Dead Rising 3 as well, having managed to avoid buying it waiting for a large price drop, what could be larger than free...

The only odd thing is running a price reduction on it this month if it's going to be free next month...

I too would love to see DR3 as a game with gold. I wasn't convinced by what I played of the full game, but I'd like to be able to play the "Super Ultra Alpha Ex Prime etc" DLC they unveiled at E3.

Oh DR3 might be coming soon? Interesting...

So can I get the game on my account if I don't have a XB1 yet? I only have a 360 right now but planning on getting a xb1 soonish. If DR3 really becomes one of the free games I wouldn't want to miss it.

Yes, buying from the webstore works

It's still so silly that I added the two XB1 games to my account via the website for Games with Gold when I don't even have an Xbox One, yet I can't even do the same for the 360 games when I own a 360. The only way it seems I can do this via the website looks to be only if I add a credit card, yet I don't want to do that. I wouldn't mind adding a PayPal account, but it seems at least straight from getting the download denied, I can only choose to add a credit card and not a PayPal account for a valid download.

Anyone here who only has a PayPal account added to their XBL gamertag and is able to download the free 360 games via the website? And can you easily remove the PayPal details? I've bought all the games I wanted on the 360 already, and I only pay via pre-paid cards anyways so I don't actually want to add any permanent details to my account.

I have a question. In the description of Ultra Street Fighter 4 it says that once I update I won't be able to download Super Street Fighter 4. Does that mean that I can't get this game?

No, I think it means that your copy will be updated to the Ultra version once you buy it and you can't revert to the Arcade Edition. For example, I bought Super Street Fighter IV a couple of years back on Games on Demand, then later bought the Arcade Edition add-on. What this meant, though, was that my copy of the game (as in, the licence I own in my Xbox's download history) is now the Arcade Edition, and I can't re-download the vanilla SSFIV game anymore.

if they do deadrising I'll definitely grab super ultra combo Dlc. I traded it in already, it would boost their Dlc sales at least

but realistically it's too soon for dr3 to go free. July will end up being something like Crimson dragon and loco cycle :/

I would hope to see Ryse Son of Rome go free with Gold soon. I've just bought an Xbox One which came with Titanfall and Watch Dogs. However, Ryse seems like it would be fun for an afternoon's worth of play and the graphics might prove appropriately "next-gen". It's far too expensive to buy, though, and I've no intention of doing that.

Thanks, man. I get how it works thanks to your explanation.

I keep getting glitches when trying to download Charlie Murder or Street Fighter on the GB store. Anyone else?

I claimed them both without issue, but I was having that problem with Dark Souls.

I thought Gold was required to play the gfg xbox one games, expired last week and can still play Max.

That's what we were told, but that's great. I wonder if its the Xbox team still working the kinks out.

Yes, I only had PayPal and removed it, I can easily grab GWG games via the website (in fact I've done it 3minutes ago)

Can I go ahead and get Strider on XBone or should I wait for a sale to happen on the PS4 version? Yes, I do care about resolution and especially (a LOT) for framerate differences

According to DF (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-strider-next-gen-face-off)
When it comes to selecting which version of Strider to play, we have to recommend sticking to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC versions of the game. While the game was competently ported to Xbox 360 and PS3, the lower frame-rate does hurt playability somewhat. Between the other three platforms it's safe to say that all three are excellent performers that never drop a frame during gameplay. For owners of all three platforms it's worth keeping in mind the strange texture filtering issue on PS4, which does reduce image quality just a touch from the XO and PC versions of the game. In the end, though, any of these three versions of the game provides a polished, highly enjoyable experience.
