For years and years the rest of the world chided the US for not being interested in soccer, and now look at what's happened. We're actually winning group stage games, and we've infected your fans with the fucking wave.

Well I rescind my earlier statements about Algeria looking sharp, looks like they took notes from Iran yesterday. Hopefully Belgium can break them down better than Nigeria's efforts.

Cmon algeria!

I've seen this thing every World Cup since 2002. And nothing ever happens. There's an increase in viewership, but not at the expense of other sports... MLS is still shit. Most "fans" don't even now the rules. Nothing will change until Latinos become majority in the US. Right now there's just not enough commercial breaks in a soccer game for corporations to invest.

Go home. I don't want any dirty infections from you.

And yet network TV still dominates cable in the ratings (overall, Game of Thrones and Walking Dead are two data points). Compare SNF ratings with MNF ratings.

Fact is, more people have access to and watch network TV, period.
Oh yeah because that's a good comparison. Network TV dominates because they have money to put forth genuinely better shows across the board. When cable has good tv they have no problem drawing. SNF gets better ratings because They are contractually obligated to get the best NFL game of the week at the time of scheduling. MNF gets shorted since there is no such thing in their contract, making them fall victim to the every team must play at least once in prime time rule. Seattle vs San Francisco outdrew Miami vs Tampa Bay. No surprise to anyone.

A better comparison would be the college football championship. That's a similar product across years and has drawn that way despite missing on the traditionally biggest fan bases since moving to ESPN.

Yeah the world had never seen the wave before yesterday
