Very proud of the guys. It's great to have a national team that plays positive football, never stops trying and for the most part (Leckie), avoids flopping on the ground every time someone comes into contact with them.

The Dutch will be screwed without RVP and Robben in 4 years.

Well this was said about Cruyff and Van Hanegem as well in the 70s, about Gullit and Van Basten in the 80s, Bergkamp and Van der Sar in the 90s etc.

I think The Netherlands always will have some worldclass players in the future, no worries here. And even if no one emerges in the future we can always be proud of our country as which other small country has made such an impact on football?

Regarding the game just now it went as I predicted, a hard fought win.

Props to the Aussies for their play!

Estamos haciendo un asado con parrilla eléctrica, para ayudar con la contaminación xD

I am gutted.

We had a chance to go three to one up but a bad cross by oar was too low for Lexie to header and then the opposite attack Netherlands score.

I am disappointed that we are now effectively out but I can pray that Spain now win then we beat Spain by heaps and can go through with goal difference......

We have a lot to look forward to in Australia. Finally a manager who knows what he is doing and wants us to take the opposition on.

I am proud of these boys. Some of them will have some good clubs knocking on their door (leckie, oar and Davidson already play in Europe but bigger clubs will come for them after their performances here).

We are getting more and more youngsters on the books of the clubs in the big four leagues (all under the age of 20) and there were some certain starters in this team who missed the World Cup due to injury (good, Williams and kruse).

I am crying but happy looking forward.

Let's hope we can get something in our last match. These kids deserve a result.

Great post. This is sooooooooouch better than the way we played under Verbeek and Osieck. We're looking great for the Asian Cup next year if we come out and play the way we are now, with Kruse and Williams back, we could win the damn thing.

Will be Cahill's last international tournament too, have to send him off well.

That means nothing. He had that before the game against Germany. Players always use them and they are pumped with painkillers all the time.
According to German commentators he had the lowest walking distance and the least ball contact of all players on the field (15 contacts in the first half) during the majority of the game, so it might mean something after all. He's not fit and it seems to show.

That was a real fun match, Aussies were great, fighting till the end, really impressive.
Whats the best result tonight to kill Spain?

Jezus that Martins Indi picture is freaking creepy

Mad respect to Australia, you guys deserve more.
I would really have rooted for Australia if they were in another group, but the passing of the Netherlands was absolutely terribad. Most of the Australian chances were straight up assists by a Dutch player.

Fuck what a game by Australia! That goal by Cahill was just amazing!

Shame they lost though. They had a few more chances but luck wasn't on their side.

True, but you gotta admire that fighting spirit

First up, Australia put up one hell of a fight. Kudos for that fighting spirit. I told everyone before the match (a lot of GAF'ers thought Oranje would steamroll them) that the Netherlands would have a lot of problems fighting of the physical play of the Socceroos. And I was right. Still, I'm glad they won because I totally wasn't feeling this game. The guys did everything to fight 'em off. But man, that fucking passion by the Aussie team was amazing. They did everything in their power to win this, so seriously, well done.

Still, fuck Cahill and his dirty shit. Flooring Martins Indi like that was bullshit. Could have been a red card as well. Unnecessary foul by him.

Onward to my own team; horrible stuff, but expected. First half was terribad and Sneijder + de Guzman had no power on that midfield. Only one to fight everyone off was Nigel de Jong. Good show my boy. Defense seemed flimsy (told you guys about Blind). Robben was well guarded, except for a few moments. The penalty for Aussieland was bullshit though. If you see the re-run, you can actually see that they directly shot at Janmaat's arm and he had no intention of touching the ball. As far the reffs go, they're not on our side. Not by a longshot. Luckily Depay (MotM on Dutch side) found van Persie with a great goal. The third goal was a bit lucky, but I don't care.

Overall Australia fought greatly, might have deserved a point, but I'm glad they didnt

Vamos Chileeeeee! Que esos españoles sepan quién es la Roja de verdad, mierda!

CHI CHI CHI LE LE LE VIVA CHILE

Yes, I placed a bet on Chile

God, Holland was terrible. Bad passing all around and keep giving up the ball. Depay saved the day. It's a good thing they won this match since RVP won't be available for the next. Australia was actually pretty good, pleasantly surprised, though that penalty was BS.

@TeleFootball: Dozens of supporters have raided the press centre at the Chile v Spain game. They are trashing the facility. Police have been called.

Well they aint going back to the hotel tonight...
