Anyone who says Tiki Taka is dead based off Spain's performance this WC is stupid.

Spain just played terrible and they're too old. Their style of play was not a huge liability. If you actually re-watch the Spain v. Holland game, Spain played very well for about the first 45-50 minutes and controlled the game. But they began falling apart in the second half and Casisas gift-wrapped two goals for Holland. They played like old players who only have about a good 45 minutes in them.

Tiki Taka helped Spain win two European and a WC in a row. That's unprecedented especially in the modern era. The style of play could obviously be refined and evolve a bit, but it's certainly not dead.

The competition wouldn't be half as good if all continents were balanced in representatives. One of the great things about the tournament is seeing the best in the world come against each other, and it just happens that some continents are more passionate and have more skilled teams than others.

There's a very distinct line that I personally draw between good tiki-taka and bad tiki-taka (without taking effectiveness into account)

When a team starts foregoing clear attacking oppurtunities in favour of keeping the ball, they're a boring team.
