Fell asleep after the second Chile goal. Missed the death of tiki taka but GAF was down and there were no goals afterward so I didn't miss much.

Australia totally have their best chance to best Spain now. They'll be demoralised and not willing to push as the result means nothing to them. We deserve at least a point out of this tournament. Guess we'll be the ones to witness the funeral of Spain's domination haha.

Also missed the first two goals in this game here but it doesn't look like I missed much. Cameroon have been absolutely bodied here. Certainly makes Group A interesting though.

And Ivory Coast was not even that impressive tbh.

It took 50 crosses for them to finally get it right.

At least their getting the job done. Cameroon is performing like a donkey out there, Nigeria could not score against a lousy defence and Ghana will need a miracle to beat Germany. The only other CAF team that could make it to the last 16 is Algeria and that means a victory against Russia and Korea.

I get the feeling in the next World Cup, CONCACAF will have a guaranteed 4th team in the tournament and playoffs will be needed to determine if there will be 5 CAF teams or 4 because only the Ivory Coast are impressing for Africa right now.

Why does CAF get 5 spots and the AFC get 4 and OFC get 0?

Mexico scored 3 against an 11 men, more serious Cameroon. They'll put up much more of a fight than this team, that's for sure.

Still, it's going to be a tough match, but not the cakewalk some people are suggesting in here.

So do you guys think Tiki Taka is officially dead? Or the players are just too old and it's still a viable strategy? I think the whole thing really hinged on Xavi+Iniesta playing perfectly, but also Puyol holding the defense together. I mean they won almost every game last WC 1-0, they have never been a scoring juggernaut. Seems like it was a really fine line between being best in the world and getting blown out by their peers.

Would be hilarious if Mexico loses after all that hype and work they put in against Brazil. People are genuinely believing in the team now.

Croatia with their target man Mandzukic back look solid enough to win it.

I think it was simply a lack of effort by Spain. They looked lazy.

Brad Jones > Australia's keeper btw. Did he retire from international football?

Brad was terrible in the Ecuador friendly. In the same game which Ryan started and did ok. Langerak was subbed on in that same game, gave away a penalty and got sent off with a karate kick.
