Puto is homophobic? wut

Oh well, take the opportunity to switch to the vastly superior "hijo de puta"/"filho da puta" (son of a bitch) goal kick chant.

awwwwwwww my aussies is out already from the game

;__;

but we did okay. ish.

and now, for next matches!

Colombia 3-1 Ivory Coast
Uruguay 2-3 England
Japan 1-0 Greece

Australia played without the weight of any expectations. They gave it their all - which goes a long way to bridging the technical gap. BELIEF is everything. I'd argue that Spain were dead men after that 5-1 mauling. They questioned the very foundation of their footballing philosophy.

One has to wonder what might have been if David Silva had put away his one on one with the keeper in the first half against Holland.

Paper over the cracks...allowing for a quarter-final exit perhaps. But still the end...just a different end.

The Dutch took three points in that first game - but the also came away with Spain's hearts...

Is this from the Man Utd facebook? :P

Not to derail this thread, but your post doesn't make sense. What is wrong with talking about BBC and charity? You know access to football isn't charity, right? Helping people in developed nations get access to a foreign feed because their own country fails at streaming isn't a good cause. What exactly offends you about a friendly suggestion from someone that you donate a few pennies to the country providing you with the service?

And it's not sad to see that the TV fee is so important to some people. You forget that the BBC has to pay for the bandwidth you use. On-demand programs are peered with local ISP's, live streams obviously cannot be, so sending that data around costs a lot of money which would otherwise be spent on programming.

If you're gonna do it, fine. But don't act incredulous that others aren't exactly fond of you taking something that costs us £150/year. Every major international sporting event this happens and people immediately get prickly at the notion of giving back a few pennies in gratitude.
It does make sense, just you don't understand my point. I for one don't care if somebody is using a service for free once in a lifetime which I'm paying good money for. You don't wanna share something just because you paid for it? Fine. I for one like to share. It's not that I don't wanna pay, it's just the way how upset people get about this. It's just a sports event so I will be fine. I hope you will be more generous when you cross a more serious situation in your life. As I said, I won't use it because I respect that, but it doesn't mean I understand it. You are flaming the wrong person here.

Shit, I don't give a toss if a couple of people outside the UK use iPlayer. Worse things happen in the world.

Everyone just chill and enjoy the football...

Watch the American univision feed. There's no fee in the US, it's supported by two ads that play when you launch the video.

Is Uruguay starting with Suarez? Regardless, England were very promising against Italy, sans Rooney, so I think we'll be seeing a narrow win by them.

Japan - Greece will probably be the most entertaining game of the day, since Greece is starting with Mitroglou and trying to see them play offensive football will be hilarious.

I don't think I've ever seen entertaining and Greece in the same sentence. Let's hope you're right though.

My own ramble, but you know UTD fans are wetting themselves in anticipation for LVG and his Dutch revolution. God save us if he wins the whole damn thing. Footie-GAF will be flooded with slobber and ejaculate.

On the subject of GOD and football. With so many players and fans appealing to GOD to assist in victory, one can only ask does she care about football? We know for sure she understands the offside rule and she did send her daughter Sian Massey to die for sins. So there is that.

In fact...I'm sure she loves the game but must remain impartial at all times. Except for England of course...ever since 66 and the insufferable gloating she has gently tipped the outcome of certain events*. But mostly she does not have to. England are terrible all by themselves.

*God had nothing to do with the 'Hand of God' goal that was all Maradona.

I actually have access to ESPN so I can see that, but I'd prefer to watch Univision. Unfortunately not fluent in Spanish. Two years of it in highschool but they speak too quickly for me to absorb everything.

You know, that's what I don't get. Getting upset about people using the BBC stream once for free and talking about charity at the same time. How is that even possible lol. I actually just donated yesterday to the earthquake victims here in Japan and I will gladly donate to Chidren In Need, just don't use that charity story to cover up your actual problem, guys: money. It's sad to see that a TV fee is that important tho. I won't use it, so relax.

Of course the problem is money. It costs money to run that stream. What else would it be about?

Uruguay - England will be the most interesting match of the day.

I don't think either of them would be satisfied with a draw.
