Yes. If you're not next to the tree, the axe just becomes an attack. Treehouse people seemed to want the axe, so it must be powerful.

So there's only going to be around 10 Amiibo figures out before Christmas and I assume the rest of the year. Most of the Smash characters won't have one by the time the game is out.
 
I take it that after that thread it became that single archived thread, or were there threads made before?

I believe Nate said you could plant multiple seedling around a stage and water them later after people forget about them for a surprise attack. I don't think you can have more than one tree at a time, though.

Based on their experiments in this video it doesn't look like you can do multiple seedlings either :o Though the trees/seedlings do die on their own eventually if you don't grow/cut them.

That's why we need King K. Rool and Ridley! There aren't any more notable Nintendo villains than them that aren't already playable. They're next in line!

That's probably what threw me off, then. It'd be neat if that were true, since it adds the risk/reward of surprise tree attack vs. the axe.
 
To me, Smash only ever really had 2 villain characters in Bowser and Ganondorf. Mewtwo isn't really a villain despite his dark nature, at least as far as the games are concerned. Wario is more of an anti-hero / protagonist at this point than a villain which he only ever really was for one game. (SML2) As far as Wolf, he falls under the anti-hero umbrella similar to Wario mostly due to more recent games like Assault and Command.

I do think that adding K. Rool, Ridley, and Medusa/Hades to the roster would help give it some diversity in that sense.

That's how I felt for the longest time. Need more villains to counter the heros. You can't have the yin without the yang. #RestoreTheBalance

At least Mewtwo, Wario, Metaknight, Wolf and Dedede have acted as antagonists, and are partially iconic for such roles. Regardless of morality, they're still in a seperate category from those who are almost always their game's main leads. Though more antagonists would be nice to see. Captain Syrup, in particular, is probably the only character that would make me okay with Anna's exclusion.

I wouldn't expect us to see Captain Syrup anytime soon (ever). Even if Wario wasn't based on his WarioWare variation... she's only been in a handful of mainline Wario games. I'd think characters like Zant would even be higher priority than her.

I'm aware of that; it's even less likely than a Sin & Punishment rep. I just liked the idea, even if it'd never come to pass.

I guess what I should be saying then is that I'd like to see more bosses from Nintendo games appear rather than actual villains. I didn't even consider Meta Knight and Dedede as villains in my post for example.

Despite its typing, I feel like Suicune has always been more associated with ice than water. It fills the same role as Articuno, and it's known as the aurora pokemon (auroras are associated with the poles). It's also said to be the embodiment of the north wind. Kinda makes sense for it to freeze people. The only other thing it could really do was make clean water, and that wouldn't really make for a great attack.
 
So I wonder if CPUs will have access to the wide range of customized special moves or not whenever you play like Arcade Mode or whatever. I imagine in VS mode you can customize the CPUs as you wish, but I hope they throw in random combinations on characters when you fight them in other single player modes.

I agree with him entirely.

To be quite honest, some of us weren't too pleased with the current build of Smash 4. Hopefully they plan on addressing our issue with too many aerials having immense lag on landing.
The direction I see this game going is:

1) A few characters will have moves that probably don't lag as bad as others do upon landing.
2) Everyone would flock to said characters because they have more freedom to approach.
3) The few characters that have good approaches will be the only ones seen on stream which won't please spectators.
4) The less fans for a game there are, the more likely you won't see the game get support from leagues, teams, sponsors, players, and etc.

If you don't believe me, look at the Brawl scene. I love Brawl and had fun playing it competitively for 3 years, but soon enough the scene started to dwindle in numbers and has yet to see the revival that Melee has. I've tried my best to promote it on my end, but sadly everyone doesn't feel the same about the game. The #FreeSSBB movement died down in part to the game being overly defensive due to the engine and mechanics.

We've been spoiled by games that allow aggressive gameplay. Games that allow us to approach and punish opponents for bad decisions instead of being in the neutral position for the majority of the match after making good decisions. Smash 4 is looking to go in that direction, and with all the negative press (people saying it's worse than Brawl) things are looking grim.

Remember guys, it's not necessarily about the game not being exactly like Melee. It's about the game missing important aspects that make a good fighter and allows for more offensive and exciting play.

Indeed. I was only 11 when Melee came out, and a "casual gamer", but that didn't stop me from playing the fuck out of Melee. At no point did I ever think the game was "too hard" to play. I really think Nintendo is taking this casualization of their games too far... It's 100% understandable and it makes business sense to want to increase the size of the target audience of your products, but at what cost? The cost of alienating your biggest fans? Is it worth it Nintendo? I sure hope they know what they're doing...

To be honest, Smash bringing in the Miis just reminds me that Nintendo really need to update them.
There's a ton of characters you can't make because of limited hair-styles and the like but also a lot of the mii-using games don't seem to take into account how much people have to 'abuse' the system to make the more interesting Miis. What this means is when you meet them at your streetpass gate their face just breaks completely when they suddenly have anything other than a Neutral expression :P

As a simple example, my Mii doesn't look too crazy but in order to get a nice highlight on her eyes I had to use eyebrows, also the eyes I used look horrific unless you rotate them on their side: this means when she 'emotes' it can look pretty odd. On the more complex side, I dread to think what the awesome Ironman Mii I made would look like if he ever emoted :s

Didn't they update them a little bit between wii and 3ds? I could be wrong.

That said, I think it could only have stuff ADDED (nothing removed, maybe some stuff changed) and it could only be on a brand new console because you don't want to risk breaking games that currently use miis. I'm not sure how the games use them, but I can assume if it's using 'Hair model 60' and your mii has 'Hair model 207' (which didn't use to exist) it might crash the game.

Even something like a toggle to disable all facial animations might be a good addition.

They added a few more options, which for the most part is fine, though I still find the hair options pretty lacking a lot of the time (attempting to make Mawile, for example was surprisingly quite troublesome due to no hair having a high ponytail and the correct fringe.)
If they could upgrade the system with a few simple improvements that were back-wards compatible it'd be ace. For example, splitting the hair styles into front and back so you can have long hair with any fringe type would allow for a heck of a lot more customisation while old Miis could easily be up-cast to the new system by using the corresponding front and back combo when converting.

Definitely! :D
A more advanced version of this feature could be to 'freeze' certain features so they don't move during expressions, or for extra fun even allow us to make our own custom versions of the expressions. That all said, simply being able to turn off expressions on your mii or even just lock off certain ones would be adequete :3

Probably. I mean there's even evidence of the game having visual "battle damage" at one point in development. Would make sense if they felt the Miis would not fit in Brawl's artstyle.
