Also, who made it official ..... I almost certain there are no "official" GAF clans.

I have joined both groups. As far as I know the other one got made earlier. This makes it more official in my eyes than this one. Either way it doesn't matter but we should try to get all GAF on one group right?

You might be right. If there had just been a few conversations beforehand people would've known.

I think we probably don't need a solution now - this is clearly working (how many members does it have?!!!?) and there's no point imo to break it up. Hopefully when the OT comes around it'll just be sorted out naturally, with a general group and a Ps4 group and most people will probably join both, I imagine.

Anyway, I'm out now, because I'm already quote embarrassed and I've already made a stink of myself driving this off topic in a dumb attempt to fix things!

Mainly it just simplifies things in the sense that if I see a post of "let's meet up" I don't have to worry about figuring out if it's ps4 or another one of the other consoles. I'd prefer this tbh. It worked for GTAV.

Why was the other one buried in the withdrawal thread and not out on it's own to be visible?

This is what people should do. Join both if they want. At the end of the beta figure out what group fit best with what they need.

Honestly I don't see why both can't coexist.

D'oh ... I almost never go back to the OP once I've read it the first time though, and without a title change there's no reason to look. I think it would have been better off as a new thread.

I'm thankful for shadownet and the folks here stepping up and organising things out in the open, but I'm sorry it caused friction for some folks.

Plenty of people that didn't play the Alpha go there. It's the most current Destiny thread right now. That's all that matters.

I still don't see the need for keeping this group up. There was already a group, one that is still active right now, and if there were concerns about how that group should be run or structured, then you ( not specifically you, Jburton, but supporters of this group over the other in general ) should have taken your feedback and posted it in the thread that group was formed in to discuss it with others.

Reading the last few posts of Shadownet, I honestly get the feeling that this is no longer about DestinyGAF, but rather him wanting ownership of DestinyGAF. You might say this is not true, Shadownet, but that is the vibe you are giving of with your posts and unwillingness to just shut this down for the time being and start a discussion. Not that anything I say will matter. You ran away with your idea and made a topic for it instead of discussing things over with the existing group, so I doubt you'll let anything get in the way of 'your' DestinyGAF.

I say this thread and group need to be shut down for the time being, and that there needs to be a discussion on the form DestinyGAF will take in the future, without depending on a race to the most users.

And that's all I have to say on it.

The only 'ownership' angst I sense is coming from you TBH, neither the alpha withdrawal guys or the group here seem to be hung up on a power trip.

Actually y'all should just join DestinyGAF, which is the official Clan on GAF. So I'd make sure I'd get myself invited to that clan .

Is there a recruitment / info thread for this other group? I knew about the alpha clan only because I saw people on my friends list in it, but never saw it mentioned on the forums, aside from people saying "How do I join? Doesn't seem to be an ingame mechanism" in the alpha impressions thread and never getting a reply. I assumed the alpha clan is gone with the alpha. There is a new one for release somewhere?

If it is supposed to be the "official" one, a dedicated thread might have alleviated a ton of confusion. Or have I managed to just completely miss seeing it?
