I want to buy this but I have a question about the collector's edition that includes 2 copies. Is it:

2x Divinity OS
1x DLC
1x Bonus Games

or

2x Divinity OS
2x DLC
2x Bonus Games

Or some other combination? If it only comes with 1 set of bonus games can I gift them? I already own them.

I tend to become bored very quickly in open world games (Skyrim being the one exception). Does Divinity:OS have a obvious plot thread that leads you through the story, or is it a completely open-ended experience?

And would anyone who's finished it on early access comment on the quality of the story?

Can't finish it on Early Access, it only contains a small portion of the game (1/5 or so). Anyway, Larian games always have fantastic and humorous writing (without overdoing it) and interesting plots.

I was about to ask the same thing, but reading the store page makes it seem like it's 2x Divinity OS and 1x everything else.

With the collector's, you get the base game and DLC as well as the two old divinity games (one of each) and an extra copy of DOS. Compared to the regular edition plus DLC, you're getting the extras for only USD$16 or so.

Steam Store description said:
Includes two copies of Divinity: Original Sin, the Source Hunter DLC pack, plus Beyond Divinity and Divine Divinity. Send the second copy to a friend! (DLC will only be made available on release.)

I just bought it yesterday though. Dammit, I even broke my "never buy a PC game for full price" rule for this one.

I did the same if it makes you feel better. Not too upset though since I got 3 games, dlc and a copy to split the cost with my brother.

I was aware of the sale today but didn't expect it to affect this and wasn't even thinking about it.

Wasteland 2 is 33% off right now and it isn't even a daily though.

Shadowrun online is also on sale.

Confirming. Everything is a single copy except original sin. Which you get 2. Don't know about dlc since it's not out.

Someone on the Steam forum just said that the giftable they got in their inventory includes the two bonus games.

Update:: Bought it anyways and the gift that showed up in my inventory says:

Includes 3 items: Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity, Divinity: Original Sin

Doesn't say anything about the DLC but i'm not sure how they are handling that, and it does say it wont be released until the game is released. It does look like you receive 2 copies of everything though.

I see that it has multiplayer but I wouldn't be playing with anyone else, still a good buy if playing single player only?
Only game where you can RP out having multiple personality disorder! Then again Vampire Bloodlines has some crazy people in it.

Anyone know what'll happen to the DLC if I buy it but have early access via Kickstarter? Don't want the DLC to vanish with the game, I'm thinking I'll wait until a later sale to play it safe.

Cool, thanks. I'll buy it when I get home.

It's crawling up the best seller list, now 8th. awesome
Another Kickstarter success story, cool. This makes me feel better about Pillars of Eternity/Torment; of course, the regularl development updates help.

OK follow-up on the collector's edition double pack. This is what the gift looks like:

It does indeed include the bonus games. Still no idea about DLC, though.

Does anyone know how the rest of the game would get integrated once it's truly out? Would I lose progress of my characters?

Guess I can just wait though. Only 10 days left.

You won't be able to use your pre release saves post release. That's the reason a lot of us are holding off on playing.

Just watched that video of the level editor. Looks really intuitive and easy to use. Look forward to being able to play around with it once it's finally released. Preferable the longer after release the better so I can just play the game first.

Alright, cool.

Can't wait for this. Didn't back the kickstarter but it's probably one of my most anticipated RPGs.

so, I bought it with the 20% deal

and I'll use the early access to play around with the classes a bit, nothing more of course

Bought and played 10 minutes, after reading almost nothing about it. Didn't know it was turn based. Seems absolutely awesome. Can't wait for release! Waiting since save games don't carry over.

Please tell me I'm not making a mistake getting this

Unless the final game is secretly awful, you're making a mistake by not getting it.

But I understand the hesitation. You might want to wait for reviews or, more importantly, impressions from GAF.

Based on everyone's feedback from this thread, I purchased this today along with the DLC.

Waiting 10 days to experience everything fresh, though. This will def help with my summer game drought

Even if the final game is secretly awful we still seemingly have a great 1/4th or whatever, and I'd think more likely we'd have a lame last third than an outright awful game.

Just picked it up and sent a copy to a pal. Too bad you couldn't break up the earlier Divinity games. I wanted to send them to my nephew. Anyways, very pumped for this game. Didn't expect to see it on sale!

Within the next 18 months, we'll have been able to play a successor to Divine Divinity, Torment and <any Obsidian rpg here>. Good times!

I CAN'T WAIT. I've pulled the trigger.

I also caved and pulled the trigger. This game has been on my watch list for awhile. Every impressions video and forum impression that I've read has been positive.

Ack. I'm back and forth. Everything I've heard makes me desperately want the game and to support the dev...but it isn't the early game I'm worries about. RPGs tend to get fucked during mid-late game. Economy, combat become unbalanced and crap. Too bad early access is just the fist fifth.

Any impressions from anyone who has access to the full game?

What will the full release OT subtitle be? Looking at this page, it's obviously...

Divinity: Original Sin Full Release |OT| Zandalor's Pants Say Pull the Trigger

I don't think anyone has the full game yet.

You bring up a good point, of course. It may be useful to know that Larian is among the best developers in the business when it comes to post-release support. If something isn't scaling well or is unbalanced, there's a good chance they'll correct it.

We only know about the early game. The best we can say is that Larian is very good about listening to feedback and has hopefully kept the better ideas in mind when adjusting their mid and late game. They seem really passionate about this game. If there's anything too glaring, I doubt they'd let it go without at least trying to fix it.

Who's even doing the OT? Durante?

wanna get in on this bad but it would wreck my sale funds

i'll grab it if I have money left and it comes back on the recap day

Well, I went ahead and picked Divinity: Original Sin up! I think I'll start it when the full game comes out in a couple days though

The DLC is OST and Art stuff right? Nothing relating to game content?

It's art stuff, the OST, and two DLC thingies:

Steam Store Description said:
The Golden Grail DLC: an in-game item that allows you to colour your items in gold and sell them for more.
Zandalor's Trunks DLC: enjoy a unique in-game undergarment as rare as it is opinionated.
