I am sorry, Kojima-San. I have taken your name in vain and sullied the honour of my family.

Let's talk about this quote for a second.

Konami's ToraShiro said the effect when you get hit is NOT blood, i'm sure everyone thought it was but it's not. So what does that mean? are we just in someones VR (Virtual Reality) mission reliving Big Boss memory or what?

I find this very important and i believe there is more to it.

Another thing i want to point out is this stuff.

Could it be some kind of DNA sequence?

Some people think it's just a lens flare effect and even Kojima said it when the interviewer asked but i think he's lying and there is more to it. Those orange lines seems to happen everytime some electronic device or some tech get's used.

Remember in this interview with Game Trailers at E3 2013 the very last question GT asks Kojima at around 4:17.

and Kojima's response was this:

Call me fucking crazy but i think there is more to this. It's not just a simple lens flare effect. Especially after Konami confirming when you get hit it's film burn and NOT blood.

You're fucking crazy.

Snake, you've been playing as...

I could have sworn I read someone in this thread say the day/night was sped up in this particular demo to show off. Maybe it was something Kojima said in the episode and someone who knows japanese translated?

Sooo, is this base building negating going lethal to a degree? If you need to recruit so many guys for your base to be viable, I'm wondering how the game handles you going ham on a base or entire level. I'm assuming it just always sets you up with the minimal amount to get by.

Better yet, what if someone goes HAM on your motherbase and kills all of your science officers? Do you have to recruit more?

Gonna have to be up 24/7 guarding my base with a shotgun and a bottle of whiskey!

Come at me bros!

At the end of the game the camera will zoom out and you'll realise that you've been sitting in a movie theatre all along. You'll look to your right and kojima will sit right next to you. He'll smirk and say:

"Did you like it?"

So when the sandstorm comes up why doesn't Snake protect his face with his scarf (or whatever it's called in english) and googles like in the poster?

BpvTejVCAAAOlRT.jpg

He only takes his hand over his face for a few minutes. :/

Anybody? Any word from someone official on if it's actually mandatory to Fulton guys?

If it's anything like Peace Walker then you can get soldiers a number of ways:

1) Fulton in the field
2) Recruit soldiers
3) Get volunteers (in PW it's as a result of BB's fame growing)
4) Send soldiers to friends, and likewise receive them

Finally saw the video. Only things I'm not liking are that fulton doesn't look like it can alert guards and it looks like enemies don't have to call in alerts. Other than that looks great.

Hopefully I can just get by on fame, then. Fulton will be okay for a first time through, but going for no kill, no alert runs and the like afterwards, it'll just be an obstacle.

Watch Dogs.

You can do it in Watch Dogs

I know, i was just wondering about the "The only programmer who could do it" you think the others are not capable of including something small like this?

All i want is, when the sandstorm comes Snake automatically puts on his scarf and googles. And when the sandstorm is over he automatically puts that stuff away. Shouldn't be too hard to put something like that in the game.

And how does sir prefer his crow? ;P

WE'RE NOT DONE YET, STILL FIGHTING MAN!

This should be the cover of the game. On the inside a Shinkawa cover for the traditional fans and everybody would be happy.

Something I noticed, it seems that a full day cycle lasts 24 mins. If you check the portion when he is using the idroid at around 10:53 mark of the video, it looks like each second is a game minute, so that makes 1 minute for each in game hour, thus 24 mins for 1 full day cycle.

Now that mission has 3 in game days time limit, which equals to 1 hour and 12 mins in real life terms to complete it.

. How much does a full day cycle lasts in GTAV or Watchdogs? Seems kinda fast here in MGSV. But I guess that could change

Actually, 24 in-game hours is equivalent to 6 real-life hours. :) Source: Metal Gear Informer via KP Alert!

It's weird, because at 4:30 ten seconds pass in real time but the in-game time doesn't change, and when he uses the iDroid again later the time seems to pass much faster. I hope it is true that the cycle lasts 6 hours, the longer the better.

I'm interested to see how this all works. I wonder if you can replay missions like in GZ, and it saves the records for the best score. Can I go back and grind out tanks from a certain mission? What if I do it lethally first then non-lethally, how will that change things? It poses some interesting questions.

Pretty sure it was a joke...

Yeah it should. I really hated the Ground Zeroes cover because the lens flare didn't make any sense, but this one works fine.

It's a great poster but for a boxart for me personally it's too brown.

I want Solid Snake on the official boxart :p

Here Fulton-GAF, you will be happy to see this. I fixed the weird audio sync problem that KojiPro video has [both this directfeed and previous livestream]! Audio is moved 200ms forward, and the Ocelot lipsync is now perfect. Much better performance than the broken mess in the original video.

MUST WATCH

Same scene in original vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ggpBtOnq_AA#t=133

Mistake was made probably because of the recording gear Konami uses.

I know that this was just a demonstration of the concept of the device, but I really think the Fulton should alert every enemy within 50 yards, the majority of an encampment. The guards are yelling 'yahooooo' as they fly obviously up in the air, and are we supposed to believe their air space is so unwatched and unprotected that aircraft are constantly picking up and dropping off balloons and parachutes without anyone noticing!?

Considering the major plot point for our mission is to rescue someone, and the tension of Ground Zeroes successfully revolved around stealth and extraction, the whole premise is shot to shit knowing you can just slap a Fulton on ANYTHING and be done with it. I want to experience the tension of carrying out a wounded POW from a guarded camp, and if the game is designed around strapping balloons on all the guards and the prisoner himself, I'm not sure the gameplay I'm hoping for is going to be balanced correctly at all.

It's just too overpowered and ridiculous unless there's a very limited quantity and it's an immediate alert to anyone in the vacinity
vicinity

Better be worth the wait! And hopefully it'll be March/April 2015...not any later, though they do need to sort out the pop-up

Yeah! I'm sure that the six-hour cycle is something they planned long ago being that this Engine is essentially built for photorealism and a day/night cycle. ;-) Things were probably adjusted a bit for the sake of demonstration!
