Just worried that we won't get an awesome area like Makna Forest. This is a different kind of game.
Instead the areas will likely be less imaginative given the direction.
The character designs of the first were endearing in standard definition, but that style doesn't really work with HD.
Really debating on going into Xenoblade Chronicles first but man, the quests were annoying in that game. It was so difficult to find where to go for side quests. The combat was pretty fun, but I kind of gave up after 6 hours. Xenoblade Chronicles X looks great, but should I go back to the first one? Does it get more manageable? Better is not the right word because I know this game is held in high regards and I don't mean to offend anyone.

Of course! You'll take on this thing with your mech party eventually.
If that part does make it in the final game.
the beginning area looks noticeably bigger to me than any single area in Xenoblade.
kinda leads me to believe the game will be a handful of really enormous areas as opposed to a dozen large zones that Xenoblade has
Yeah, the side quests were a little annoying for me. It was entertaining, the combat, for sure. I am guessing the game gets exponentially more..involved? Or more engaging? I am trying to use a word that doesn't come off as insulting.
I also can't wait to fly around in a mech but I seriously doubt you can just fly anywhere then. Wouldn't that put away any challenge to discover new areas? There will be surprises what new locations you can see. Really giddy.![]()
There's still landmarks so presumably yes. I'm not sure how that will effect mechs though.Do you think we can still teleport around in this since we have vehicles now?

X gonna give it to yathese gifs are killing me. There's no other game I'm more excited about atm, not even Zelda U
Man, I hope that moon/planet is explorable in the background.![]()
During the E3 demos, when someone approached the small buildings outside the city, they suddenly materialized when the player was very close. I'm wondering if the "pop-in" of the buildings is a result of an early build? Not trying to pick apart a game coming out next year, just wondering as I saw it on multiple playthgroughs - the first gameplay demo of E3 and again when IGN was playing.
Here is an example:

To clarify my question, is this something that has a high probability of changing before release or could this be a hardware limitation?
Edit: This also triggered a "Discovery of Area" pop-up so possibly it was intentional? Maybe these small buildings/installations aren't meant to be seen from distances for discovery purposes and pop-in as the player gets close?
I will straight up buy a Wii U for this if they include Xenoblade Chronicles with it. Even if it's just a Wii disc and not an upgrade. Probably won't otherwise because I haven't played the first one... looks cool, though, and including the first game would be the tipping point to getting me to buy into the platform.
(Just stating this on a public forum in case randomly some Nintendo employee is looking for a way to sell a Wii U to someone.)
What would be a good month for Xenoblade X release?

Those eyes are anime as all hell. It's not even the same character designer. HD isn't the problem...the modeling just isn't that good and the art style probably isn't helping (the environment looks great but a more colorful, anime-style art style would work better for the characters).

Should look more like ep.III models.

His shoes are on the wrong feet.
Probably no, since you can sprint in this game.
I'm pretty sure we'd still be able to teleport between landmarks. No way they'd go backwards with an awesome time saving mechanic. Vehicles will just magically appear with you. It's not like there's a whole lot of real world logic in this game - just look at that falling gif with no fall damage and magically appearing synchronised Elma.
Sprinting just reflects the extra size of the maps.
I really like the design of these guys. Just something about the way they move.

Can't wait to see more of the creature design later in the game that we haven't seen in the earlier trailers. Hoping for stuff that's maybe even bigger than that giant lava monster.

Here's a .webm I made. It's my favourite part of the Treehouse video.
No damage after fall is awesome.

So I still don't get what kind of RPG this game is. Is this an open world game? But judging from he story trailer, there's gonna be a space battle right? Its so grand in its scale I don't know how they are going to pull it off.
So far what I've seen sent my hype through the roof. This might be just my gundam pilot simulation fantasy.
Have you played the 1st Xenoblade yet? It'll give you a basic look on what this game started from.
I like the musicSorry for the double post, but in the story trailer at 1:07 that character model looks exactly like the 1st default character for male from the character creator.
So that's where the main character is supposed to be I'm guessing. EDITear god the story trailer is hard to watch for the 5th time. I could watch the 1st two forever.
Pick up a Wii U now and get Xenoblade.Nope, I haven't bought another nintendo console since DS. This game are going to make me pick a wii u.
So how do xenoblade handle its world?
