I guess this is better than nothing, Sakurai was never really big on alts, and we are mostly getting them for the characters that have interchangeable genders or whatever.

Although Little Mac and (presumably) Wario get theirs. I guess this also has to do with Wario Ware being big enough to warrant it.

I think it's been firmly established at this point that the only POTDs that are specifically meant to tie into upcoming titles are the ones posted on thos titles' release dates.

Agreed. Better moveset/characters, the costumes, and the fact that it's being updated helps. It's an unfair comparison, but I have more fun watching, and playing PM than I do Melee nowadays.

The only character I'd be cool with that happening with would be the Masked Man, but it would be odd to replace the hero of a game with the villain.

That's why we need both of them in the game!

So after all that Xenoblade talk the other day, I've decided to do something that might kill me. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow, and I'm going to stream my playthrough of it.

I don't normally like to stream games like this because I'm usually too into them myself, but for some reason I feel like this one's gonna be a fun one to do. I'm more there for academics than anything, and who knows, I might end up loving it.

Anyway I'll post it up here tomorrow when it starts if anyone's interested in joining in on this long journey. I hope to be psyched as fuck for Shulk in Smash by the end of it.

Well, he does merely state it's based off of his clothes. I'm not expecting true alt costumes for every character. For example, Samus has her Fusion Suit palette, iirc.

Rather than compromise and "half-ass" it with palette swaps, they should have just saved alt costumes (outside of Mii, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer) for DLC.

Very true. The shiny form is GOAT. I think people would have received him better if that were his default.

Actually I think it makes sense why his colors as Chesnaught is different.

See, the brown part of Chespin line is its "skin" so to say. Chesnaught is wearing armor. It'd be weird if the color of its armor is the same as its skin. You can actually see its brown skin on its muzzle.

It's not an alt, it's a palette swap (or texture swap as we should technically call them). You're complaining about it being something it isn't. As a texture swap it's rather good and I'm glad they are just limiting themselves to basic block colours.
