It's not like it is with boxing where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over with football you bring shame to yourself and your country, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the public, after hearing about this, is that they are not going to want Suàrez to play for the rest of the WC, nor will they support the Uruguayan team. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Suàrez has alienated his entire country with this move.
