Well this thread went to crap and back. Sheesh.
I wonder why Sakurai mentioned Luigi being in the bag. Is Nabbit a stage hazard?
Welp, time to leave this thread folks. This post is as bad as "Pokemon are only151150!"
You must be one of those people that think WarioWare shouldn't exist and that Brawl apparently doesn't have a shoulder tackle and "Wario grab" even though they're both there.Sorry. Didn't mean to make you upset with a factual statement that ignoring almost everything that defines Wario is the most valuable step in making a shitty character.

What defines Wario as a character to me is his Wario-Ware series. How angry does that make you? Hm?

Why does Nabbit have Bowser Jr.'s mask?

Good to know that Wario's entire characterization rests solely on a shoulder bash attack.
So, I just got done catching up about 6 pages worth of all this...
this is rich... like a fucking adult.
this is rich
You have my condolences.
Nabbit is obviously using a Bag of Holding.
Besides the obvious Melee/Brawl/P:M split? Because in a group as big as SmashGAF conflicting opinions are bound to exist. Combine that with the relative lack of moderation in here (although being snarky is standard mode in GAF anyways) and you get a perfect breeding ground for long, bitter arguments.Sheesh, you guys are so passive aggressive. Why can't we all just get along...
Don't direct conversation at me as a means to indirectly attack other people.Adults talk down to people when they act like shit. Sorry that I didn't respond to children with peaches and cream. Unlike others (apparently), I get bothered when people invent opinions to apply to other people based on nothing because they aren't intelligent enough to engage in others beyond attacking their opinions.
Don't direct conversation at me as a means to indirectly attack other people.
I really couldn't care less about the argument at hand, I just found you're extremely immature manner of handling the situation to be very apparent, and counter to what is considered behaving like an adult.
I'm just glad that in the end, Beelzebufo admitted he had been wrong all along
Well, I'm not, because I regard Twisted! and Inc. as two of my favourite games ever. But hey, I can credit you at least for not letting me down. I love seeing further examples of GAFfers being assholes and proving that they'd be better eating shit than participating in a discussion like a fucking adult.
Do you want to have a proper discussion, or do you want to continue being a big ol' fucking dick?
Good to know that WarioWare was about farting and eating enemies.
Shit, my bad, it was about mini-games, and Wario's design did shit all to even represent that.
Look guys, I never said that you couldn't have your stupid, wrong opinions, so why are you acting like I've done that for even a second?
A good point. In the future, I should validate bad behaviour by pampering the people who do it.
It is not immature to react to people dogpiling on you and making bad faith assumptions about your argument with annoyance. It's something everyone does or should do, because people who do that don't deserve respect.
I'm not validating your supposed aggressors, I just think your handling of the conversation to be far more disrespectful than that which you received.A good point. In the future, I should validate bad behaviour by pampering the people who do it.

Wasn't your first post about how Brawl ruined Wario? What response would expect when your initial post was something like that? At the very least provide some substance without ignoring points (unlike being blind as though Brawl didn't feature his tackle and grab).
Also yes, he had a fart gag in the Wii game due to eating too much garlic.
He had one fart based move. I don't get why people are so fixated by it.
His movement is based of the spontaneous movement of the Wario Ware games; you go from one action to the next with little in between.
As for inspiration for moves. we have what, 1000+ Wario Ware microgames, so trying to work out the handful that inspired Sakurai is not an easy task. Iis his bite attack inspired by the Wario World suction move or the eat a hotdog game from the first Wario Ware? We'll never know.
Well, why not stick to a theme?
B: Belch
Side B: Pick Nose
Down B: Fart
Up B: Eat Hot Dog
Final Smash: Rancid Odor
These are all things that happen in cutscenes, manual backstory, and official art.
There are four good ways to do Wario.
1. Wario Land-based
2. WarioWare-based
3. Shake It!-based
4. A mixture of all of these.
Sakurai chose the fifth choice - "stupid and based on the most general concepts." Mario loves mushrooms and pasta, we should build it around that.
I've been thinking about whether or nor Wario's default will still be his WarioWare outfit this time.
For some reason, I could see them going back to his classic look, with the WW clothes being his alt.
They'll change Wario to his Wario Land look and add Mona as the WarioWare rep! <3
~_~ one of my greatest Smash fears. lol. I can see it happening in the same way Palutena was given KI attacks though.
There are numerous mini-games that he could take from, that are really face-forward. And it's certainly not as though Game & Watch and Pac-Man and Mega Man didn't require extensive research and discussion. Mega Man has more than 100 moves that Sakurai could have chosen! Wario meanwhile has a lot of attacks that don't resonate with anything he's really done. I mean, here are some things he could have done:
He could have kicked the WarioWare-style timer bomb forward
He could have a hand with its fingers in a V-shape as a projectile
He could attack with a whip of snot (gross while also keeping with the theme of mini-games!)
Paper Plane-style projectile (or even a Side B attack where he glided on a Paper Plane)
Wario Cannon - his Down B could have been a mini-Wario projectile launcher
I mean, there's an awesome selection of choices if he even took from only one single game.
Still not italian! I love pasta but I'm Asian!
Anyway, the microgames in Wario are... microgames. Compared to GnW and Rhythm Heaven games - they're short bursts that have a hard time being ingrained into consciousness to be defined.
GW games are all separated by the handhelds so are easily defined. Same with RH - they last long (2-4 mins) and have recurring features.
It's the same reasoning why we see Kat and Ana do ninja stuff or Ashley do magic despite not doing them in the games themselves but in the cutscenes.
I think you missed my point. Wario Ware consists of so many source of inspiration it is a hard task to work out where Sakurai's inspirations came from. Especially as the majority of microgames don't even star Wario so all he would be capturing is a pose from the game and imposing it on Wario. For example, one of his poses is based on his art from Wario Ware Twisted so if that's one of the more obvious inspiration good luck working out where a lot of his other attacks come from, but the fact Sakurai would included such a reference goes to show that he did indeed put thought into Wario's moveset (which consists or more than a few specials) despite what most people think.
Oh and his bike is awesome.
That makes sense, canonically speaking. In Kid Icarus Uprising, when using powers, Pit calls upon Palutena to grant him the power. (In Light vs Dark he actually shouts "Lady Palutana" when activating a power. I have never noticed it in the single player.) Therefore, it makes more sense to put these moves on Palutana rather than on Pit.
Brawl? It took Smash four games to give Donkey Kong his signature move from DK Country.
So we can expect Wario to have a shoulder bash as his dash attack in Smash 7.
That's a side smash, just like DK had his roll as a roll.Brawl?
Oh don't mind me thenThat's a side smash, just like DK had his roll as a roll.
Dash version comes four games later. It's an obvious pattern.

It doesn't count unless it fulfils your exact criteria?
