I mean that would imply that those tweets lack any value, but it's clearly obvious that it is a personal reflection on his own (and others) role in the industry as a journalist and a fairly astute observation on the state of that industry.
It's the most generic re-hashing of an issue which has been discussed ad nauseum by every single "gaming personality" I've ever listened to or read. There's no insight there. Just picking the low-hanging fruit.

It's two tweets. That's it. I'm sure you'll find worse opinions on every Twitter account ever. Seems a strange thing to make a point of, especially when what you replied to was Zaph's comment about Patrick working for more diversity in gaming. Those tweets have literally nothing to do with that, it just seems like you wanted to state a negative opinion about Patrick for some reason based on nothing.

It's just that your comment is one of many people taking some dumb troll comments about football on Twitter too seriously. Sorry if I came across as attacking you or anything, didn't mean to!

I like arguing, I didn't take it personally. I just look at things differently than you. I do understand if there were a ton of other people piling on. I don't even like soccer, it's just crazy to me that a dude who loves wrestling thinks that the group stage is incomprehensible in some fashion.

Ah, I dunno. I put that in the same category as Jeff's exaggerated rants on whatever he doesn't like. Of course it's ignorant. Whatever. It's also funny.

For the record, I can actually get kind of into foot to the ball sometimes.

At this point I accept it from Jeff, and it's probably hypocritical now that I think about it, because Jeff has earned the right to be willfully ignorant. For every ignorant rant we get from him, we get things like the Syphon Filter run animation that makes me crack up.

If you think opinions on sports and throwing accusations that GB doesn't care about diversity are on the same page, then I don't know what to tell you.

I'm just pointing out your inconsistency and the term getting your panties in a bunch is kinda like calling a man a wuss or a girl at this point.

I think it's rather unfair to level that accusation at a tweet, which by its nature is limited in the scope that can be expanded upon. That the issue has been discussed before by others doesn't nor shouldn't preclude anyone from voicing those same opinions on a social media channel like Twitter.

Anyway, the original post you were responding to was "Giant Bomb (Patrick) has done more to highlight the issues in this industry than the entire 'diverse' staff of Gamespot and IGN combined." While that claim may be slightly hyperbolic you aren't giving Patrick a fair shake if all you're attributing to his highlighting of the issues are two tweets and ignoring all his talks, articles, interviews, etc.

Patrick also had 2 tweets earlier about going to the doctor

patrick is now basically dead

what the FUCK i mean you might as well boil it

GRID Autosport is PS360 (+ PC) only? Wat. I mean, I don't care, but wat.

It was made in a year on already built technology.

It's basically a stopgap and final send off for the EGO engine used by every Codemasters Racing games since the very first Grid in 2007. Kind of a best off if you will.

The next "proper" Dirt/Grid sequels will be on next-gen.

Spintyres looks like it could be good if there's enough variety in the scenery, and enough stuff to do.

Adapting the Ubisoft philosophy, I see.

Same camp as Patrick & Patrick's wife. I put Ghibli and Cowboy Bebop in a different category from Anime. I would put Anime in the "for jerks" category.

There's like a hidden sliding scale somewhere when it comes to anime. The more something leans into accentuating it's anime-ness, the worse it is, while the more it accentuates the parts of it with more universal appeal, the better it is.

Without going into too much detail FLCL flies in the face of that notion. I know what you're getting at, though it is a reductive way of looking at anime.

I probably missed something but are Vinny/Alex going to be able to build a better computer? That kind of performance obviously can't go on.
They said they're going to build a new computer, and also maybe probably stream that too.

Or "I hate all country and rap except ____ and ____ because they're the good country/rap"

Yep, pretty silly. Especially in Bebop's case as it is literally a television anime show.

I remember liking elfen lied when I was younger for all it's gratuitous violence, but for every scene where the girl kills a bunch of soldiers, there's a scene where she's making cat noises and rubbing herself against her adoptive dad. At least that's how I remember it.

They are gonna get equipment soon (have to wait until July) so i expect a new PC will be in there as well.

I have no idea what FLCL is, so I can't comment, but is it some sort of satire? If not, it probably means you're a jerk for liking it.

why do rorie hate vending machines?

I think Rorie quite likes vending machines in general, which is why he has such strong hate for that specific vending machine.

Sigh my shenmue copy has not arrived yet but i did get a new sealed copy of this for £1.50
Always thought it was funny how different Euro DC packaging looked compared to US ones.

They're building a new one and will most likely film the process. Maybe it'll be as helpful as Brad's masterful "how to build a PC" video?

Vinny said they had to wait until July to build a new PC. July is when the new budget starts so they can make big purchases.

This anime discussion is reminding me of the previous times that this topic came up, and some people panicked so much about liking Persona 4 (and thus by extension being dreaded Anime Likers) that they decided to argue that Persona 4's 100% sincere anime-ness (as determined on the 'me scale) was actually some kind of parody

basically whenever a person who "doesn't like anime" likes something that's totally bona fide Anime As Heck™, they have to pretend that it doesn't count because it aired on Adult Swim late at night, or is actually a "satire" of "anime tropes"

Who cares what someone thinks about something you like

Who cares what you think about things other people like

People who fancy themselves as tastemakers that want to be upset about regional media are probably not people worth listening to

That's pretty funny. People are so afraid to admit what they like also fearing that they might be judged while in reality most people don't care. Maybe that's something ou have to learn but I would never react like that.
