I don't want a movie, just because Escape From New York is already the greatest possible Metal Gear film, but Kojima doesn't even have complete control of the games, so I don't see why that matters.

I'd only watch it if it was being handled in the way the Ratchet & Clank movie is. I'm counting on the whole thing falling through. In the past few years I've heard of an Uncharted, AC, Bioshock, and Halo movie as well. There is no reason to tarnish a brand to cash in on people that have no interest in such off the wall franchises that build up their atmosphere in entirely different ways.
Kojima and Shinkawa would have zero control on an MGS movie.

i will buy a ps4 next year too, and intend to play MGS V in the next gen versions. I love my ps3, but i need to experience this game in glorious 60fps/1080p. I bought my ps3 for gta/uncharted/mgs , and now i will buy a ps4 for the same reasons.

I'm buying my PS4 now because there are a couple of games I'm interested in (Infamous, Transformer) and the fall is going to bring some interesting things, but I'm also very excited about the idea of playing GZ again 1080p60.

Well, I wanted to secure a PS4 as soon as humanly possible just to be sure I wouldn't miss out on any games I'd want to play. I ended up getting it day one - at the time, we didn't know how long Ground Zeroes would be. But I'm fine with it. I'm absolutely convinced that my purchase was a solid one, personally. I've logged about 500 hours into Ground Zeroes; I've played more Ground Zeroes than I have any game in years - probably the most I've played any game since Peace Walker. So, no regrets. I'm just happy that I've had the chance to play the PS4 version.

So, apparently IGN posted the 1080p, 60fps version of the Director's Cut E3 2014 trailer... Had this been posted anywhere else? I know the one shown at the Sony conference (slightly shortened E3 2014 trailer) had been given a 1080p, 60fps release, but didn't think this one had. MGS trailers were always so EPIC, especially MGS2 and 3. They need to go back to it. More cutscenes and dialogue, less gameplay.

I think for it to even be made it would have to be stripped down. You probably can't have codecs, which were where most of the philosophical themes came to the fore. And hey, can you see a studio greenlighting a 15 minute debate on the nature of reality, or memes, in the middle of their film.
The villains in the series are absurd (ignoring the fact that characters like Mantis couldn't transfer to the screen, when their interactivity with the player was their main shtick). There are only a few grounded characters in the series.
The only way I see it working would be like Dredd or The Raid with mechs - Snake infiltrates a base, kills a load of guys, meets the villain ("It's his brother"/"It's his father"), fights a District 9 style Metal Gear, the end.

Just make sure to buy GZ on PS4 when you get it! You need to experience MGSV the way it was supposed to be played!

Fucking agree 100%!! I love all the songs Kojima has picked so far for the trailers and Sins of The Father couldn't be any better but damn it I want that russian music back in MGSV! KONAMI spent a lot of money on MGSV, I'm sure they can buy the rights for the russian composition and put it back in MGSV. I miss it so much!

Really, it doesn't matter to me. I feel that the E3 2014 trailer was probably the weakest of all of the trailers released, but still think it's the best trailer released at this year's E3. Hideo's trailers are just on another level for me. Even what I consider to be his weakest are some of my all-time favorites.

Yeah me too, miss it so much BUT HGW is talented enough to come up with another masterpiece like this so i'm really really excited to hear what he's up to ... man and in that E3 2004 trailer at around 12:10 ...it's so freaking amazing with the dialogue of The Boss and Naked Snake, the music (btw. most underrated track ever called "Debriefing"). Snake walking to her grave but we didn't know that yet at this point we just saw him walking. Then the fight with her ...GOD THIS FUCKING TRAILER.
I mean it's a two edged sword. On one side i don't want them to spoil stuff but on the other side those scenes make the most impact in trailers with awesome music cut together.
For the next trailer i hope Kojima spoils a little bit but not too much, just to get as even more excited for the game and use HGW music ffs.

For sure, dude, I feel ya! Though the first MGS3 trailer was more of a "target render," I feel it wasn't too far off from the final build - at least in terms of visuals. It gives me chills to this day.
Ha! Unfortunately, no English subs or anything like that - it was only uploaded via their Japanese YouTube channel. I would love for them to remaster some more of the old trailers one day. Or at least, officially re-release them! (I tend to go back and watch the older ones from time-to-time; I loved the "Courage is Solid" MGS4 trailer. It was short, sweet, and to the point.) I would love not to burn myself out on the MGSV trailers, but I just can't stop watching!

I absolutely agree. I meant subtle as in relative to MGS. Metal Gear is generally a phallocentric, Sci-Fi, military, soap opera and from what I've seen PTA's work tends to deal with more natural human drama (not seen TWBB), if that makes sense.
