Plot keeps getting more interesting. Good research guys!

On another note, it is mentioned in the Treehouse live demo that 2 alien factions are at war and the human race was just collateral damage. So the humans may be up against 2 races, with one of them with cat-like looks as seen from the trailer. Or maybe 1 of the two factions will be humanity's ally later on.

Seems like humans will be facing a 2 front war and perhaps a few members of the alien races will ally themselves with humans because morality.

Knowing how large Xenoblade's desert looks and having just started Xenogears, I'm just going to throw this idea out there (this isn't any form of speculation, but I just think it would be a neat idea).

It would be pretty cool if that desert had some sand pirates roaming around. ;)

This is an interesting setup for an RPG imo.

Usually it's whatever faction your character is lined up with versus another. But this time it seems like the humans are just trying to survive instead of waging all out war like the other two factions are.

A few other interesting things worth noting:

This is called Blade Tower:
ibqrKsrcOKxHat.png

Some man named Morris Chausson is chief executive at Blade Tower (which is where I assume these "BLADE" devices are produced):

Considering that the human race has only been on Mira for two months and assuming the area below is located there, it's not probable that they've attained the level architectural development seen here in such a short amount of time:

It's possible that Mira was or is inhabited (my bet is on the latter).

Dolphin is more CPU dependent, rather then GPU. Such is the case with most emulators, PCSX2 is another heavy CPU dependent emulator.

I run the HD Texture pack with pretty much no issues, my specs are as follows

i5 3570k @ 3.4Ghz (No overclocks), HD7950 3GB GDDR5, and 8GB Ram @ 1866Mhz.
https://pcpartpicker.com/b/T8TH99

I'd think anything you build today for about $700 (Newegg, Amazon, and Microcenter price watching, using PCParkpicker) should be more then sufficient to max most games.

You can probably save money by reusing your HDD and DVD Burner like I did.
I'm going with this:

Will get another stick of ram if everything works

The French name has me hoping that instead of scrapping the accents in the English version; they'll include a larger variety - similar to the localised version of Metal Gear Rising when compared to the Japanese voice track. Having a wide variety of accents would also help sell the 'exiles from Earth' angle a little more, even if it is an American ship.

hey I have no doubt seeing that the arc-ship had a glass bubble dome that the City already had its towers and roads it was not new construction but part of the arc-ship design

This really shows off Reyn's facial animations. I had no idea they were that prounounced.

Also, Dunban's mouth looks noticeably...soft?

I think the only thing needed for Dunban now is to rework his beard a bit.

these Dolphin shots are brilliant!

must...resist..urge...to..replay

Do iiiiiiit! It's worth it!!!! :D

Does Dolphin still suffer from the annoying stutter and audio pops with Xenoblade? Last I checked those were unavoidable regardless of setup, which still makes me lean toward playing on the console even if it is SD.

I THINK it's okay now, there's been a tremendous amount of work done on the HLE audio since a while. I'm sure you'd be fine downloading the latest dev. build.

Don't hate me if I'm not right, though. It's ok with me but I guess that from now on it all depends on your PC specs. D:

What are your specs?

I'm building and I want to play this =3

Intel i5 2500k @4.5Ghz
AMD R9 270
Corsair 8Gb RAM
Dolphin 4.0.2-1977

Play it again with this pack, guys, I'm still stunned by how better it looks. The faces, environments and UI are so much better now.

X is far from being out, this will scratch my RPG itch a bit in the meantime. I'll take a few more shots tonight if nobody's against it.

Oh man I never knew any of this stuff about a Monado style implant. Didn't even catch that there might be another civilization on the planet. Wait, actually how do we know the BLADE thing is an implant in the 1st place?

My hype can only go up so high. Maybe I should buy a digital copy for less loading times/pop-in and keep my physical copy sealed.

I played a bit more more tonight, though I didn't think there was anything worth taking a screenshot for.

So I did the end game again. Here the links of the pics I took, because I don't want to spoil anyone. :)

DON'T LOOK A THESE IF YOU NEVER FINISHED XENOBLADE CHRONICLES, THOSE ARE ENDGAME SPOILERS.

Beautiful. This makes me want an HD version of Xenoblade to be released even more since I don't mess around with PC stuff.

Oh, god. I screwed up bad. I was thinking I'd try out the hd texture patch so I decided to update Dolphin as well. In the process of importing my save I accidently overwrote my current save with an older version. *sigh*

So, if anyone has a save from Valak Mountain at around level 50 with most side-quests complete that they'd be willing to share I'd be forever in their debt. If not, I may never finish this game. :(

did Xenoblade have a good guide?
just had some fun finishing some quests but I think I have gone passed a point where I missed some timed quests so I would have to beat the game and start over

Look up some youtube tutorials. Trust me, it's easier than you think.

might do it after I get my PS4 paid for in September

wanted this a lot but now I am thinking WiiU can't make it look this good and run well looks like a lot of work

There's a text guide on gamefaqs that supposedly covers all the quests. I dunno if you were looking for something more like a wiki, though

http://www.gamefaqs.com/wii/960564-xenoblade-chronicles/faqs/62867

I just cake-walked my way through the final bosses since I was one New Game Plus with everyone on low level 90s

I enjoyed the last stage again, all the battles were simple button mash and win

so carrying my stuff over for the 2nd time to the beginning of the game so I'll be redoing all the quests trying to get 100% until X comes out or at least until September when Destiny comes out

thanks will use these faqs

I don't want to miss quests by going beyond points of no returns again

Faces from Xenoblade.
Essentially, they used human organs in their systems. The first Faces, like Xord, were just brains and a few organs, while later ones had near-complete bodies.
It makes me wonder if the base technology is the same.

Where did he get this information from?
The early Faces have a spherical compartment behind their torsos that look like they can easily house a full body, just like the special Faces.

Edit: You know what, I'll post this in the actual Xenoblade discussion thread.

Is there anywhere where I can listen to the background music from the treehouse demo with out all the talking? The few snippets i've heard sound amazing, especially that music when the sun is coming up.

I suppose one of the plot points will be determining if the aliens are raman or varelse.

Either way, I can't wait for this game (I bought a Wii U just for it). I'm a little more afraid about the blank state main character. I hope we'll have a good storyline.

This question might've been asked already but I'll shoot again, I started Xenoblade on the Wii (looks kinda crappy tbh, running via Component helps a bit), about 25hrs in @ Frontier Village/Makna Forest, if I ever decide to upgrade my PC and run this game @ 1080p goodness is there a way to transfer my save from Wii to make it playable on Dolphin?

There must be...

Yep! Just move your save to your SD card and then drag the correct files into the right directory in the Dolphin folder on your computer that corresponds to the folder created on the SD card.

I'm not sure why, but whatever the patch does doesn't work for me. It looks "too clean", and I don't like it.

WIth XCX we can finally explore an HD town city

It makes me worry though. If the city is big just because, I'd rather have an hd village. Most people hated alcamoth but loved frontier village. And to me, it seems like neo los angeles will be an alcamoth 2.0. I'd rather have a more compact frontier village like town...

When did that happen, I was under the impression people hated both? Alcamoth is big, empty and boring, while Frontier Village almost entirely vertical with difficult-to-find NPCs.

I don't remember complaints about Colony 9 or 6 (completed) though.

Well I'm hoping that they've revamped the affinity chart/travel options so finding specific NPCs won't be a pain.

I don't think the size of NLA will be that much of an issue however.

The Colonies were exactly the right size with enough landmarks spaced out across them to never feel too inconvenient. Fuck anything related to Alcamoth. Couldn't be bothered to do most of the quests there because getting from one end of the city to the next took forever. And the teleporters sucked, too.

I don't mind size as long as you don't make traveling tedious or make an area feel too empty. If Neo Los Angeles isn't too troublesome to explore, I'll be perfectly fine with it.

Imho, finding npcs was way more painfull in colony 6 and 9. In alcamoth and frontier village, spawn points were at least marked on the map and every single npc spawned at either 6:00 or 18:00 - with only 2 exception in frontier village (9 and 21).

and there were only about 6 spawnpoints in alcamoth.

Valak Mountain also had this problem until you unlock a landmark super late game that kind of improves it. Valak Mountain in general was too big and too empty, it took forever to get anywhere even with max move speed.

"do you eat shit?"

LOL! Yeah he's definitely pissed on that shot. It's my favorite shot from this batch, too. :P

Well, it depends, I said this because I just did Tephra Cave then I saved to re-do the end-game with the textures pack. I'm sure there's shots worth taking when I'll reach Gaur Plains. :P

It's not like it was too much, as an exemple: Twilight Princess texture pack I tried last week. Screen was loaded with shimmering everywhere the moment I moved in Hyrule Field, to a point it was unbearable. The textures were too high-def/detailed to a point where it creates overall shimmering. Maybe it'll be decent when everyone will have 4K TVs but we're far from being there yet. The guys behind the Xenoblade Texture Pack made it well, because it's not at all that invading.

I think my bigger concern is that they replaced the HUD's character faces with stock art. I imagine they don't change nearly as much with the character's tension as the stock one does, even if the stock one is SD.

I don't remember how frequently they change in the normal version, but I can assure you they change when they go from 'normal to attacking' like this shot shows. Can't say for the arts when they take damage, I'm at work GAFing around so I can't tell. :P

Valak Mountain really sucked too, yeah. Felt like a total filler area.

And accidentally sliding off the narrow pathways and getting sent back to the last landmark did not help things.

Question: Never played the first one. What kind of game is it exactly? I look at the videos and it look like a mix between Monster Hunter and Mass Effect. Is it? Are you obliged to use guns or you can play the game as a sword fighter?

I like the music but yeah not a big fan of the area myself. The best part about it though is that there aren't many quests in the area.

I hope XenobladeX has as many varied environments are Xenoblade did, actually more so since it's an entire alien planet and you can fly around.

Edit for the post above. I see Xenoblade kind of like a single player MMO or like FFXII myself.
As for guns, the only character that uses them is Sharla. Everybody else has their own weapon type, like staffs and swords.

Edit Again: As for this game, it looks like the player will have different options. My guess is, it will be up to the player what they ultimately decide to play with, guns or swords. It's clear there are different class options in XenobladeX from what we have seen so far.

Can you fly around though? We've seen a mech glide for about 3 seconds right? Do have more info other than that?

Right and from the clip it's clear the player will be in control of the mech and able to fly at some point in the game. I don't think we have a whole lot of information one way or the other so how limiting this is, it's hard to say. You may not be able to fly around the entire planet but I would be very surprised if you couldn't fly around most of the world at some point.

The Xenoblade games are RPGs, and are not action games like Monster Hunter or FPS/RPG hybrids like Mass Effect. All of the shooting you see is actually MMO-style auto-attacking against a targeted opponent. MMO-like singleplayer RPG is a decent description of Xenoblade Chronicles. You fight using a mix of auto-attacks and special attacks with cooldowns, much like World of Warcraft. However, Xenoblade had an extremely well-executed combat system with a lot of well designed abilities and unique mechanics.

Xenoblade X seems to be very similar, but with a lot of changes to its game mechanics as well. It is a little early for us to say exactly how it is different. What we can say is that it will be a game with MMO-style combat where you can explore a very large world while doing classic RPG quests.

Ok cool thanks for the info and your time. Hoping they will release a demo on eshop so i can try it. I am personally tired a bit of these MMO like games (spend wayyy to much time in WoW, EQ, GW2). Just hearing the word MMO give me headache lol.
