...hate me...
I turned 30 this year and this came just last year.

Sometimes I get it under control, like with proper shampoo and stuff. Yeah science, bitch!

But then after a while it comes again ugghhhhh. I don't even have much of a problem with how it looks to others, but dis itching on my scalp god dammit.

First thing that makes me feel like an old fart.

I could post some NSFW photos... It might not be dandruff. Finally went to a dermatologist and they got me on some prescription shampoo now because it isn't dandruff, it's psoriasis :(

I'd like to see it, I've had dandruff for the past five years and it constantly keeps coming back so I'm wondering if it may be psoriasis or seborrhea.

I've got dandruff on my sideburns, my facial hair, and my eyebrows. It's the worst. The absolute worst. Moisturising my face helps, but I hate washing my hair with shampoo because of how fluffy/puffy my hair gets.

I had this issue.
The commercials made dandruff look like snow.
The stuff coming off my head looked like a snake was molting.

Interesting. From what I've seen, I don't think it should be. Still should get it checked out.

What shampoo?
I change it up a lot, from supermarket brand, to Elvive, Fructis, and sometimes Head & Shoulders or Linic (anti-Dandruff shampoos).

I had terrible dandruff and seborrhea for years. I tried tons of shampoos, and nothing worked. Then I tried Selsun Blue, a shampoo that I had ignored for all this time. Tried it once, the flakes and seborrhea were gone. Now it'll come back if I don't use the shampoo for a few days, but it's worth it for me. Walmart even makes a generic version at half the cost.

I get dandruff on my eyebrows, but since it's not such a big deal, I usually just wash my eyebrows (and face) with a face cloth once in a while and it's gone.

Not going to embed them since people might be eating or whatever.

http://i.imgur.com/vQjbCLv.png - This was how shit looked any given day. Using head & shoulders, still could produce a snow storm any time I scratched my head. Constant mentioning it whenever I got a hair cut.

http://i.imgur.com/F02Eqd1.png - Then it flared up, and I kept scratching at it. This was the worst it's ever been, large ass chunks could be peeled off, hair included.

I've been on medicated shampoo for a week now and I'm from the 2nd picture back at the first. No more snow storms when I scratch my scalp, and it should be under control in another week or two after I finish the first cycle of shampoos.

A two weeks rotation of Selsun blue and tgel should work pretty well

You can probably get some stronger ketoconazole red shampoo from doctor too

If it's not working out well
Ask ur dermatologist for clobetasol propionate solutions
Worked GREAT for me
And fast too

I get dandruff if I don't wash my hair for a few days. Sometimes it gets crazy. I thought everyone gets it, but I guess not.

I'm taking all advice into consideration, so thank you.

I believe I stopped washing my hair as much because people have told me it's not so good for the hair... might wanna change that, probably. Together with a proper shampoo and cold(er) water, I'm thinking things will get better.

You should go see a dermatologist. I was getting scaly scalp for years and finally broke down and went. They gave me a topical steroid that I apply to my scalp twice a day for a few weeks and the symptoms go away for months at a time. It's pretty amazing stuff. You just use it as needed and stop when the external symptoms go away until they reappear.

Then again, I have psoriasis, you might not have that.

That's what I'm on now. Clobetasol shampoo for now (first week) then alternate with a Ketoconazole. I also have a Clobetasol solution to apply twice a day.

I had really bad scalp psoriasis for years but I finally found a way to get rid of it completely and have been free of it for over two years now.

I went through a crap ton of medications and shampoos and I found Denorex extra strength coal tar shampoo is by far the best. dermatologists will tell you to use nizoral, selsun blue, tgel or prescription shampoo but they all suck. try the Denorex, use it daily and make sure you leave it on for 3-5 minutes each shower.

I'll second tea tree oil for a temporary fix and it actually feels really good on a sore scalp. Does smell weird though.

Head and Shoulders never worked for me but somehow this shit was magic:

granted my case wasn't super bad though so definitely think about seeing a dermatologist if you can.

what is the generic version called, playboy?

Selenium Sulfide is the active ingredient, you have to check the labeLs of the off-brands unless it specifically says what it's supposed to be compared to. A generic that says 'compare to Head+shoulders' isn't the same as one comparing to Selsun Blue

Same thing happened to me, Zinc pyrithione (head and shoulders) and Salicylic acid (prescription I think) didn't help as much as Selenium Sulfide for me personally.

I've had the opposite issue from OP. I had dandruff a lot when I was younger, but less as time has ravaged my body. Maybe because I use Head and Shoulders all the time now?

It's dumb, but Head & Shoulders shampoo removed my dandruff 100%. Use it every 2-3 days on my head and beard.

If you can't get lose it with something like that, you should see a doctor about it.

Use head and shoulders everyday man

This.

I have really bad dry skin issues. Until I started using head and shoulders no other dandruff shampoo or solution worked for me

My mom says I shouldn't use it for some odd reason cause its "too harsh" as if any other shampoo wasn't equal. I only need to use shampoo until I die, so I don't know what I'm supposed to do otherwise. If it works, it works.
