Am I crazy for hoping MS pulls a Nintendo and starts making limited edition Halo Duke wireless controllers for XB1? Not sure how they'd handle the white/black buttons and the bumpers, but a man can dream can't he?

Found some new info, or at least new to me (and didn't see it in the OP). Apologies if it has been discussed already here.

Nightfall is going to be like Every Street United and be streaming only with weekly episode releases, and can be watched via Xbox One or Windows 8.1.

Halo 5 beta runs from December 27, 2014 until January 22, 2015

You passed on the Reach 360 because it wasn't enough of an upgrade, but purchased the Halo 4 bundle because it was quieter?

Aren't they the exact same system?

Huh, guess you're right! I didn't even realize that. I guess I wasn't in the market during Reach as much.. or poor.. lol

When you say that, do you mean an episode will only be available to stream for a week, then it is replaced by the next episode?

The rest I think is more or less common knowledge.

No I mean, it sounds like they will release 1 episode a week, and what is on the disk is only a "sneak peak" and grants you access to the episodes as they release them.

edit: Source for beta dates and info on Nightfall is via a MS Expertzone course.

Oh god, Lil Poison. I forgot about him. I remember somehow getting to play in a H2 custom game with the Ogre twins. I wonder what they are up to now.

Ugh, I hate it when my content isn't actually on what I bought. That means it can easily disappear at some point in the future.

Really looking forward to going through all the Halo campaigns again, but as much as I try to convince myself that I'll play a ton of the remastered Halo 2 multiplayer, I know I'll end up not enjoying it as much as I want to. It just isn't going to be the same as I remember it being almost a decade ago when all my friends in high school played it. Without them it will be a hollow experience.

I'm really looking forward to playing Halo 2 and 3 again, I haven't touched either of them since shortly after launch (campaign).

Same here but I can give it a pass with the movie. I feel it's more the Terminal stuff that should be on the disc.

Did they talk about how the matchmaking will work the the MC collection?

Fox example, when I'm in matchmaking, will I be be able to search for only Halo 2 games?
Also, is the 1-50 ranking system coming back?

If you look on the first page of this thread, where they show screen shots of the multiplayer menu, you can get an idea of where it looks like they are going with the multiplayer matchmaking. It looks like you pick a game type and within that game type, it shows what Halo games are supported in that game type. Then a list of three maps would randomly show up and people would vote on which map they want to play.

Unless they change it, I would also imagine that in a game type such as SWAT, which didn't start till Halo 2, you wouldn't be able to play SWAT on Halo CE maps.

This is all just an edjumicated guess on my part though.

Reach's UI was pretty sweet.

Only thing, I would change about it is the File Share system and maybe the map/film clip selection in custom games and theater. I think those worked better in Halo 3, but that's just personal preference. Overall, it was a very good UI.

They've also said they'll have at least one playlist solely devoted to each game. So if you only want to play Halo 4 for some god forsaken reason, you can do that.

Ahhhh, that is cool. The playlist devoted to each game part, not the Halo 4 part. j/k ;-P

I'm one of the ones that is not right in the head and actually enjoys Halo 4 multiplayer. Once this collection comes out though, I'll be spending the vast majority of my time in Halo CE and Halo 2.

BTW, hopefully there is a penalty for when people drop out, for those times when "unpopular" games or game maps get voted for democratically. "Oh frak, Halo 4! Why the frak did you guys vote for that? I'm out of here!"

I have a personal theory in which old games, that you enjoyed a lot in the past, should stay in the past. I've personally soured my memories of many of these games by replaying them recently. For example, I had huge fond memories of Another World, and replaying it recently, I don't see why I was so infatuated with the game. Time changes, you change yourself, and things are not the same anymore.

I agree with this, and I think a good solution is to "play the hits"

Not the albums you love but the songs.

Thats why im really looking forward to the campaign playlists. I dont need to play through halo 1-4 front to back. But theres some missions I have fond memories of Id like to visit briefly.

I just hope for two things.

1. social/ranked split. None of this Halo 4 bullshit where every playlist including grifball is ranked.

2. Ranked Team Doubles in Halo 1-3

True, but wholeheartedly ruined by the ability to back out in the pre-match screen. Must've had a run of 8 or 9 backouts, it became ridiculous.
Hah, now that you mention it, I ran into the same problem. I never realized it was so unique to Doubles, but I think you're right.

Since it appears rank will go up and down again based on skill, then they can make that a penalty -- however, if people are losing rank due to leaving games, then they should still be matched up with the people of similar skill before the derank since they are not losing rank due to skill. This would prevent people deranking on purpose since it wouldn't have any possible benefits at all.

Very glad you said this. I hope the rank guy at 343 sees this. we dont need another busted system like halo 3's ranking system =(

Guys .. In halo 4 ending... Some troops land on a planet. Which planet is that? Reach?

Not sure if this counts as spoilers.
They're on New Phoenix, Earth, which was hit by the Composer in the previous mission. The piles of ashes on the ground were people...
I'm hoping to see more of that location in the future. New Alexandria on Reach was hardly what I'd call a city, especially after New Mombasa in ODST (....what's with all these new cities though? :P)

Oh ok thnx. There had to be reason why he attacked that place I guess?

It will be pretty interesting to see how many units TMCC will sell. I mean pretty much every halo fan on here and everyone I know is pretty hyped up for this. So can we expect numbers close to a new numbered halo game? That would be pretty amazing and certainly a first for what is basically an hd remake... (albeit an awesome one ;))

yup gonna play this shit to death, i'll be playing it until Halo 5 hits.
Only until Halo 5? Ill be playing MCC till the next, next gen. Its actually going to be nearly impossible for H5 to compete with the MCC package. 100 multiplayer maps, 4 campaigns, and nearly perfected gameplay is a tall order.

Just hope they don't remove massive quantities of playlists in fall 2015.

I think that h5 will be OK. I also that 343 are gonna deliver. Either way, it isfucking awesome knowing that I'll have a halo fix for a good few years

Both Ogres stream on twitch from time to time. Ogre 1 lives in Australia and he just had a kid. So I doubt he will be back to compete in Halo ever again. :/

Don't know about Lil Poison though. Dude sort of fell off the map.
