Halo is a second tier franchise. Maybe people buy this as a curiosity but I suspect most will discover they don't like how Halo plays anymore, and don't care about the campaigns they beat long ago.

I also doubt they want to port MCC to PS5, considering they've been trying to free themselves of the MCC yoke for years. Shitfinite is much more likely.
 
Got to remember a lot of 360 owners switched to PS4.

I would bet theres a lot of Halo fans in general on Playstation that would love to own Halo again

1-3 plus Reach still play great for me. I'm up for yet another playthrough, on PS this time. I also don't believe MCC is broken anymore, so why would they try to "free" themselves instead of getting all those sales? Seems like a no-brainer once you're already a multiplatform publisher.

because they want people on Shitfinite not maintaining a 10 year old game. They stopped working on MCC a couple years ago.

Why do they need to keep working on the MCC to sell it? It's a finished game, you make a port and rake in the cash. I don't see the issue here, they're porting freaking Hellblade 2 which will sell a tiny fraction in comparison.

I've been hearing this MCC rumor for over a year. Nothing has happened.

It's not happening. Ever. If MCC comes to the PS5 I'll admit I'm wrong, but we all know deep down this isn't going to happen.

Considering they're porting everything under the sun including Gears and Forza, it's a really bizarre stance to take.
 
Gear's is late August. That's 10 weeks away. Anyone think this Halo game launches in July or will they wait until September?

Talk about missing the forest for the trees. I don't see how a few specific games that haven't be ported (yet) blinds you to the pattern we've been saying. They've ported so much stuff in the span of a couple of months they're probably cannibalizing their own sales. There is no logical reason they would hold specific games back other than not believing they can make an easy profit or not finding an available studio to work on it. There are already rumours for Starfield, if it gets ported I imagine you'll be pointing at Redfall next. I think you're Just burying your head in the sand.

I agree. I normally agree with his takes....but his ignorance on this is pretty starteling.

I don't get what the wait is for Starfield though. MS missed the boat on that one. Releasing it now will probably get them at most 2M sales...

When it comes to catalog stuff, I'm not sure there is much evidence to suggest that staggered releases would significantly improve sales nor do I think there's much evidence to suggest that Forza Horizon 5 is eating the sales of Doom The Dark Ages...

I just think if Halo MCC was coming it would have been ported by now.

They'll probably port the Halo CE remake, but the Halo MCC won't make the cut.

I'll do it also. I've been perusing the thread; no slight to you, but if you're going to go against NatetheHate, who I don't think has been wrong on much of anything so far this year and has said MCC is coming, I'm interested to see if you win that one.

Halo is pretty much dead to me, Microsoft needs to give the IP to a better Studio, MCC has great nostalgia value, but I already play it on PC. Now that we have Forza Horizon, the only exclusive I wish to buy from the for the time being is Ori and the Blind Forest 1 & 2.

Yes, it took years to get the MCC up to scratch on the Xbox One. The PC port isn't perfect either. So attempting to port the patched up MCC to a system that doesn't use Direct X makes less sense for MS than doing fresh remasters one by one.
 
If it does, it wont be the MCC…If all they're porting for Gears is a remaster of a remaster instead of the trilogy then the same will be true for Halo, just one entry at a time, nickel and diming
 
Will MS say fuck it and remake the first game. Halo MCC an year before that.
Atleast will ensure next 4 releases to sell if they are abandoning the Infinite formula for another engine.

Overall I suspect you're right. Anecdotally, I am interested in playing the campaigns again in 1-3, ODST, and Reach. I am not sure which games are included in this collection off the top of my head, so I will have to look that up.

My next query is: are they going to charge the same price as the Collection originally released at, or are they going to charge more?
 
Halo MCC is the right way to go, but it is 343/Halo Studios, they will try to port Infintie to try to grab some idiots to buy their over expensive crap in the ingame store. Besides, it is them, they hate Halo so they prefer the MCC to die as soon as possible so their version is "Halo".
 
I seriously doubt that mess of code called MCC makes it anywhere but what has already been produced. Bringing that codebase of various games with some sort of mashup overlay of networking and UI is not coming to PS or any other differing platform. The development, deployment and testing targets are too fucking shit from decades of Halo shite. It ain't going make it. IMO no way they risk having more years of MCC damaging the brand further than it already did.

Bring a unified new engine and Halo game across all platforms day one and watch that shit take off if done right.

Leave MCC behind, where it belongs.

Yep its pure fantasy that it will be the MCC. Microsoft is not generous. And since PS5 is a 'new platform' for them, new demographic, new opportunity to make the most from them. Sigh. Defo gonna be that remake and maybe Infinite(sadly)

Never underestimate a greedy company. Look at Konami. Shit out the MGS collection, then announced a MGS3 remake that is going to be £70.

I still think MCC will be coming. Because MS know people will buy it. It's a question of before or after Halo remake.
