I opted to get the Limited Edition off Amazon instead.
With how fast the Ghost edition just went for PS4 and my general fear of release day stuff showing up release day I went with Amazon to feel safe lol.
They've only screwed up once on a Call of Duty game coming in a day after release day, but I'll trust them on this one for now. I'll probably cancel and do it at Gamestop by me later, but just in case something like the Limited Edition being sold out too happens I want to be prepared.
The LE sounds perfect for me anyway. The extra $50.00 isn't justified with enough in game items for a player like myself.
Bungie understands I just want the smexy journal and the expansion pass.
So err...how much would it have had to sell to top that list so fast?

I've just come back from my local EB Games here in Australia. From the information I was given, here's my understanding of how the Ghost Editions are distributed in Australia:
The example from my store: This particular store was allocated 3 Ghost Editions to distribute. The only people eligible to buy this were 18 people that had already preordered in store with a deposit over $50. The store manager will ring each person on that list of 18 in order of purchase and ask if they want to upgrade to the Ghost Edition. If the first 3 decide to upgrade, the other 15 miss out (but will keep their preorder of the standard edition of course).
However, I'm not sure how this relates to platform. They may have gotten 3 PS4 versions, or some mix of different platforms.
I was told that anyone going to preorder the Ghost Edition today (like myself) would be flat out refused. But he would gladly take my money to preorder the Limited Edition.
All I can say is, thank god for my amazing sister in NZ who ordered the Ghost Edition for me today.

Yup, EB had the Ghost Edition up as an Online Only, 1 per customer, preorder just before 10am as well as the LE available for preorder online and in store. MA had the LE and Ghost Edition both up for preorder when I last looked at about 11am, but dunno about now.

Ugh, I just saw the video and now I want that Ghost even more. I already have it preordered at gamestop but they charge a hefty $40 for shipping overseas. On the one hand, it's fast (2-3 days) in comparison to Amazon's standard shipping. Well, it better be for that price. OTOH, it's $40!!

Same here, that story was like a dry piece of bread, boring and lifeless, I am enjoying the side missions however like gang hideouts and fixer contracts so once I have finished all those I will be selling watchdogs too, will help fund that £88 LE of destiny

Just the standard game plus expansion pass for me...must be getting old that I think the orices for le and ghost editions are so darn expensive!
The LE is only $5 more than the game and expansion pass.

Oh wow, I looked at their site and thought we weren't even getting any - little did I know that they were already sold out. I had this game pre-ordered from November last year, but I only had $10 down, so they didn't give me a call!! I called them just then, and I'm able to get the Ghost version on Xbone, so that's cool I guess - I'll just trade the game in, or have it on both, not sure.

For those of us who life in the Netherlands pre-orders for the limited and ghost edition are up at gamemania, for respectively €110 ($150) and €160 ($217). So we pay the price of the ghost edition for the limited edition...
Strangely enough they only take pre-orders for the current-gen versions, for last-gen they only take pre-orders for the normal(/vanguard) version.

Preordered the LE on Amazon since it's just a few dollars more than the base game + expansion pass, considered going the Gamestop route for the Ghost but I called and the guy said there weren't any, so I guess I'll hope Amazon gets some more in stock soon. I need that portable Peter Dinklage for when I'm out and get hungry for cheese.
