DRIVECLUB The Drenched Forests of Canada

they can't market this kind of ad during launch though because the weather update is not a day 1 patch

When they can market an ad like this for the PS4 launch, I'm pretty sure they won't hesitate in marketing a post launch free DLC for this game. They'll just add some fine print that gets them off the hook.

Maybe Playground simply hadn't implemented it or the drive to achieve 1080p meant they had to cut corners?

I really hope it's the former. Rain not streaking/rolling up the hood will be extremely hard to ignore after seeing this.

Also the little droplets very slowly move towards the cockpit, I hadn't noticed that at first.

Is it just me or the trees next to track have snow on the leaves ?

I think they do, yeah.

Not sure, but don't think the weather is so dynamic that it has a snow to rain model.

But at least we know there are different types of rain and snow. Here we see a shower of rain, there's no doubt a little drizzle, mist etc going by the comments from the devs.

Holy wow... Kinda Off topic but this is how I want the next gen EScrolls game to look like. God damn gotta be the prettiest rain/weather ive seen in consoles.

This must have been one of the rare occasions where my mind actually did not believe that what I was seeing was gameplay. I had to watch it like three times, it's so good.

They nailed every aspect of driving on wet tarmac. The fog, the dulled colours, the reflections, the sounds, the diffuse spray from the tires.

God damn. Impressive.

Free PS+, this doesn't seem like $65 worth at all, we know graphics isnt everything specially for racing games.

If this game doesnt have major depth whats the point?, look at GT thoss games have a huge amount of things to do and unlock its overwhelming.

Drive Club all I see is "oh graphics" thats it
when are they going to fully expose the overall package?

Well...look at the PS4 launch ad.

It's too bad this wont be under review scores, since it seems to be a big deal.

By the way, are they going to add splash effects to running over puddles? It's the only thing that seems to be missing.

Wow. Just wow. Wasn't a big fan of the 30fps decision early on, but after seeing the stuff they've released in the last month I think I'm starting to come around.

This will be the generations PGR4.

These graphics will be timeless and still look great when we look back at GIFs in generations to come.

There's always one.

I see a lot of people wishing for a new Motorstorm with these graphics, and to that i say HELL-FUCKING-YES. I'd love that, imagine a Motorstorm with DC's sense of speed and graphics, but muddy as fuck. Hnnghhh.

Oh my giddy aunt, that looks amazing! I was just captivated by the raindrops on the bonnet; they look so realistic. I wonder if other Sony studios are going to adopt this engine, or share any of the tech.

Holy fuck!

I know driving games tend to look really good but that's as good as I've seen in any game irrelevant of the platform.

Okay, I'm probably the only one, but while almost everything looks great, the rain particles falling from the sky in the Scotland video look odd to me. I'll have to see how it looks on a TV, but something about them seems off that makes it stand out from everything else that they've done visually.

Looks so good. Are the cars upgradable? Can i purchase (with in game money) new tires, suspension, spoiler, etc.?

Very impressive looking video. I'm often impressed with Evolution Studios work-product.

Provide diverse tracks and reasonable (i.e. less arcade-like) handling of the cars and you have my purchase.

Impressive.

What's "major depth" in a racing game? If you have no interest in arcade racers why bother posting? Sounds more like you're up to your usual desperate attention seek.

Speaking of that series, I believe Criterion will make their new game feel like that E3 trailer motorstorm debut as.

They really need to do a high quality video and having it with 1 minute equaling 1 hour and run through a full 24 hours in game time and having it showing all the different types of weather too.

I'm not an expert but it seems they can get this incredible rain detail in the game without a hit to performance as they smartly use the mist to cut the draw distance of the backgrounds down.

The mist also acts as a block to the dynamic sun rays, which requires some processing power.

I know this is an "old" post, but "blocking" the dynamic rays would take a whollllle lot more processing power than not; Dynamic lights don't take much work, but shadows do, especially soft area or - heaven forbid - atmospheric shadows.

All I see you do is bitch and troll. In the No Man's Sky thread you were spouting this kind of nonsense as well.

If you don't know shit about the game, don't come into a thread complaining that the developers haven't told us about what the game is.

it's a racing game. You race cars on roads. Against friends or CPU.

Peace
