DRIVECLUB The Drenched Forests of Canada

There's always one.

I see a lot of people wishing for a new Motorstorm with these graphics, and to that i say HELL-FUCKING-YES. I'd love that, imagine a Motorstorm with DC's sense of speed and graphics, but muddy as fuck. Hnnghhh.

Yes please ;_;

I see. I don't know why people can't just like games and have to argue all the time, it gets boring after a while. I'm reading some of the posts here and they read like planted PR statements.

So let me get this straight: we shouldn't debate graphics (or, as you call it, "argue") and call someone out for a ridiculous statement. But then you can call people out who are in awe of the genuinely amazing graphics for having posts that "read like planted PR statements".

OK then.

Meh it's not quite up to Forza's level of graphics, right Ryan McCaffrey?

I don't normally like to call out members of the gaming press for their comments, but Ryan's got to live with his ridiculous statement. He seems like a nice guy but he's come across like a Microsoft/Xbox fanboy on numerous occasions.

In reality, that footage is INCREDIBLE. Absolutely trounces Forza graphically.

When did he say it? I'm not a fan of the guy, but if he made those comments last year I wouldn't disagree with him. This footage blows the demo they had at PAX Prime out of the water.

It's disappointing they decided to go back to 10 second, uber compressed, Facebook videos. I thought we were over that.

I'm really hoping this game gets a spot and is shown off on stage at the Sony press event during Gamescom...

Thought it being a no show at E3 was a mistake, especially as it could have better filled some of the Shawn Layden/Powers segment.

Forza Horizon 2 looks just as good to me IMO

On a technical level FH2 is impressive because it's open world as well

Opinions though, both look really good.
Question for the technical folks: Do you think the graphics would different if it were open world? The environment looks incredibly detailed and the draw distances are far. They would only have to make the tracks larger, right?

It seems like a completely different case from linear vs open world in other genres.

I don't want another open world racer, I'm just interested in how this works.

Just got home, I'm tired. Watched these small clips, imagined it was winter. I imagined it's cold outside, it's even raining too. You are at home with some hot coffee or tea, you decide to play some Driveclub with this weather while you are all comfy playing. Yep, I can't wait to try this.

Amazing, this is looking more and more like a day one buy for me. If only there was split-screen. PGR4 will have to remain my local-racing game.

Actually I believe it was E3 of this year or in the week or two leading up to it.

A beautiful visual, my friend. A beautiful visual, indeed.

He said it this year in May http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/05/22/e3-2014-driveclub-channels-pgrs-racing-spirit
Since we have nothing else on PS4 to compare it to yet, I'd say that Driveclub's 1080p, 30 frame-per-second graphics are roughly on par with Forza Motorsport 5's 1080p/60fps looks. I'd give the slight edge to Forza when making a mental comparison, but I'd have to put them side-by-side in order to really make a call. But this isn't a console face-off; PS4 players are certainly not going to be disappointed by Driveclub's looks.

I still dont get why the world visuals are a huge
focal point of a Driving game, look around all these people focusing on the worlds effects like any of that matters when you are driving at full speeds.

I understand if you are hype to see the replays, ya thats when that matters but not when you are in a fully competitive race,

I swear some here will stop in a race to look at the graphics lol, think about how silly that is

When are they going to finally reveal the package? show the infamous Club aspects already, how fun and interesting is it?, how is the AI?, you know tell about the damn game
enough about the graphics already.

So I assume you are playing Pole Position, Rad Racer and Hard Drivin' right now? Visuals dont matter in a racing game? On a next generation console? WTF am I reading?

This is an milestone for racing games visually and deserves the applause, but that in no way means a certain other game isn't as impressive other ways. Not sure why gamers can't get that.

What DC does with weather and visual details is amazing and plugs much weight behind the decision to delay the game. It was going to be. Big-standard arcade racer at first (if launched last year), but now it will stand out as one of the most beautiful titles of this gen. I hope the handling matches up. Could be this gens PGR.

How is being making opinion as fact , debating ? Everytime this game is mentioned or Forza the threads turn to shit. I actually agree with you it looks great, I never said it didn't.

Because when they disagree you have people jumping down their throats, look at that idiot above having a pop at a guy just because he has a Halo avatar. Why ?

Edit: sorry I meant people like McCaffrey, those those sort of PR posts when he is talking down DriveClub, why would he do that ? I should of explained it better.

Were just trying to get people the help they need.
Honestly its all done in the spirit of medicinal aid.

Wow, that looks insanely good. Incredibly atmospheric too.

The sound is actually better than the visuals in these clips. And the visuals are quite insane.

Headphones mandatory for these clips.

The sound when the car hits the roadsign is incredibly satisfying, for some reason.

When you use something as your avatar you should be prepared for the responses, I've been hostilized many times because of mine and that doesn't fret me. If you do get angry over that, tough luck.

Racing game visuals are used here as a form of console war ammunition.

Most of the people beating Forza Horizon 2 over the head with Driveclub, or Driveclub with Forza Horizon 2 - don't play racing games, or if they do, not to any great level, depth or ability. They complain about features that are not part of the core driving experience, get excited about things that aren't a big deal and generally make a lot of noise without contributing to discussions of the genre.

The bitching and silliness surrounding the launch of Forza 5 - the misinformation and complete misunderstanding really showed how little such games are actually played here by many of the most vocal racing game console warriors.

Within the Forza 5 OT and OTs for other racing games post launch it was clear that most of the fighting done surrounding the game was not by people actually playing it. The OT for Forza 5 is happily a calm refuge from the nonsense that appears on the forum from those that don't play the game.

The console racing game fans I know - the ones that actually play and love the games - are excited about FH2 and DC. The lucky ones will be able to play both.

But right now that won't stop folks treating DC like the second coming - yet when they pick up the game they'll be wall riding, assist using, driving line following noobs that will soon give up on it and quickly move onto their next messiah of gaming and source of forum nonsense.

They'd have to make it so that at any given point you could hook a left or right and drive a cross fields to get to any part of road. Road which is essentially all the tracks in the game accessible by driving there. Every detail Drive Club has lavished on each track would have to be ready to be seen up close and at speed while loading the next track. I doubt that is such an easy task.

I was going to edit a bit better but my photoshop started to fuck up, so I cut my losses.

How did you even think of editing it into Sunshine footage? That's what makes me laugh with half of these gif's...that people think to put two certain things together.

Either way, bravo.
