wow nice win. grats crazy better dude o7

and Argentina had a hard time with Iran. What is your point exactly?

Uh, his point is pretty clearly implied: expecting NED to "smash" ARG when they scraped into the Semis isn't indicative of their ability to "smash" ARG. Referencing ARG against IRAN is irrelevant to his point because his point isn't that ARG would "smash" NED.

So now the dust has settled would most people agree, that it was more a matter of Brazil being absolutely lost at the back (Luiz, Marcelo main culprits) than Germany being outstanding?

That isn't to dampen the Germans achievement, you can only beat the team in front of you after all and they did that ruthlessly.

Very true. Germany played as they do usually but the Brazilian defence is to blame for most of this debacle

whelp...woke up and thought espn website error.

at least messi will win his bestest evar against all odds, david vs Goliath.

dirty dutchies to win now, this is like the last year CL when german clubs smashed the spanish favorites. dirty dutchies will have the psychological edge now

Hope they don't go through. Hate the way they play with all the diving and hacking.

What a dream. Reading reactions, cooling down. Hope they can keep the concentration for the final. If it only weren't so late already, argh.

Hope Brazil can recover. The psychological pressure gave them a hard time. But best regards to them. Get on your feet again soon.

Was Brazil's problem in the whole tournament. Germany was the first one to use it.

Hopefully the Brazilian squad for the next WC is worth backing, the gap left by Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, R Carlos etc is just too massive.

Re-watching the replay on ESPN now. It's almost unfathomable, that stretch from around 10-30 minutes. And then there's the 2,3,4, and 5th goals. I've never seen that bombardment at this level at this juncture in the WC. And at the victim Brazil's highly heralded soccer powerhouse house (lol).

Oh, come on, that guy was anti-european for the entire four weeks. This schadenfreude is delicious.

Let's be honest: it's practically impossible to not be anti-anything-but-yourself in this thread.

Personally, I'm rooting for the Germans going forward because they Germans were the classiest among Brazilians, Argentinians and Dutch ITT.

Legit q that was ignored when I asked it a few weeks back:

What happened to Pato? I remember him having the potential in becoming the next Ronaldo back when he was at AC Milan, did that superficial buzz fizzle after a dry spell or something?

You can gloat all you want after tomorrow match. And I will root for Germany in the final, dat Flamengo shirt is too strong.

All is good my friend, whatever happens tomorrow I will never forget how Brasil lost today on their home like they had no soul.

He was promising, but did not live up to it.

Not like any of our other players bar Neymar did.

I think he got injured a lot and then went back to Brazil, only to continue the down hill.

Like Owen, but even worse I guess.

Thank you but.... Damn... Looks like I can't watch it from Japan. Check out their response, absolutely atrocious:

"This video is not not working or not available in your territory. Please check again later on."

Any other alternative links so I can watch the highlights or the full match that I have missed?

The "lol riot time" posts are about as appropriate as the nazi imagery.

It's unnecessary.
I agree with the 'lol' part (nothing funny about people getting hurt or property damage), but I would not be surprised to see some rioting break out.

Although I'd think it would be more likely to happen if the game was close and Brazil lost due to a questionable call. The fans there seem more sad then angry.

Who will lol. I am fortunate to be skeptical of the brazilian squad since the beginning, so I didnt suffer like those poor saps at the stadium.

A week or so ago I read an article about his rise and subsequent fall from grace. Personally I think if he was on the squad Brazil may have had a more functional attacking force but them the breaks. I could say similar shit was done with the Spain squad and who was left home but what's the point anymore. Both teams need to do considerable rebuilding. I don't think Brazil will have that hard a time doing it. Country still produces great players through the years.

Honestly, to me, the biggest single attribute/culprit here was the absence of Thiago Silva. It was abundantly clear the Luiz had literally 0 control over that back line. As a captain, especially in the back, it's his duty to anchor the defense and call out assignments, adjustments, etc. It just wasn't there.

And, yes, the absence of one man can cause the catastrophe witnessed. When you're missing the anchor, captain, leader of your defense, it's basically JV soccer out there. It was some of the most abysmal defense in this Cup.

Credit to Germany, obviously, but there was no excuse for the absolute no-brainer mistakes that Brazil was making.

This was NOT the team that beat Colombia. Even though BRA had been shaky, a team with Thiago out there would have held far better ground.

I thought whoever has the broadcast right in Japan would put the match online, no?
