Kaka and Robinho and Diego (played in Germany, I think he may be retired now) we're all stars at 20 who should have been in their prime for this World Cup (30-32 years old).

Brazil played the most debutants of all nations in the four years between last and this World Cup, yet scolari may not have picked the best squad. I would have had kaka in there at least for experience. This team had no leadership other than tiago silva.

Diego was in the bench for the Atletico de Madri this season, scored a beautiful goal against Barcelona in the CL.

Kaka... Dude, I don't even know where to start with Kaka. Let's just say he hasn't done anything right since 2010.

Messi can barely stop Iran. He's not stopping Germany.

I do agree that Netherlands will probably beat Argentina, but your example isn't really any proof of that. That's not how football works, is it?

Germany barely beat USA, drew vs Ghana, had to beat Algeria in extra time(?), scraped past France but thrashes favourites Brazil 7-1.

That's because there are no riots. There were never going to be riots.

People are just racist like that.

How's the general tone down there? SOmber? You did cry right because as passionate as Brazil is about futbol, Brazil probably all cried today a little. Brazil meaning Brazil, not 3rd person Brazil from gaf lol /inception headache

Well, he was a decent bench warmer for Corinthians.

Dude, he was infuriating. Corinthians had a beautiful team, just lacking some good strikers. Pato comes in and... nothing happens. Even worse than before. How did we pay 40 million reais on that guy?

I feel bad for all the hate Fred is getting. Clearly he isn't up to par, but who wouldn't take an opportunity to play for their country? I'm sure he is doing his best. It would suck to get booed like that, poor guy. Bet they are dreading Saturday. I mean what if it's embarrassment pt. 2?

have you even seen pato bro? this isn't 2007 anymore

Fred is the best option you had other than dragging a 90 year old Ronaldinho and making him play as a 9

Fred is terrible.

As I said earlier Pato was Corinthians's top scorer in 2013 even being a substitute for Guerrero 18 goals against 17 from the Peruvian. The problem was the manager Tite didn't want to play both at the same squad, like Van Gaal doesn't want to play with Van Persie and Huntelaar. And Guerrero was already a hero in Corinthians, as he scored the winning goal against Chelsea for Corinthians. He was Tite's favorite. Pato almost never played full matches but he still scored more. But people in Corinthians started to hate him when he lost the penalty against Gremio in Brazil Cup, eliminating Corinthians. He tried a fancy and stylish kick and failed miserably as Dida catched the ball with both hands. Also he didn't show heart at pitch which is something that Corinthians's supporters value at most. Now in São Paulo he is playing as a winger as Luis Fabiano is the central forward. He is doing more assists than goals but he is always in the starting team. He was voted the best player of the first fixture of the Brasileirão this year.

Pato isn't as good as he was in 2007-11. But he is better than Fred, Jo, Bernard, Hulk, etc.

At least he scored against Barcelona, Real Madrid at Camp Nou and Bernabeu, against Juventus, Inter, Roma...

Diego the Werder Bremen guy?

He's still playing. Won La Liga with Atletico last season.

And I don't think you would have wanted Kaka there. His leadership would not make up for how bad he is now, and has been for the last 4 years lol.

lol, we agree then? I was just saying that, in hindsight, everyone was decent. Luis Fabiano, Pato, R. Gaucho, etc.

Any body from Brazil here? Hows the mood there?

I've never seen São Paulo this quiet in my entire life. Everyone's sad as fuck, but few seem to have cried. People are just... Flabbergasted.

On social networks most are cracking jokes about the loss, but not on the streets.

Everything is fine over here. Gotta tell you, it happened so fast that most people just stared in disbelief and after a while turned to funny images and memes about the match.

Seriously, my FB and WhatsApp right now look like a barrage of jokes and Fred being photoshopped to street cones.

Yeah just reading about Diego.

My first time in Brazil was when Robinho and him won the championship with santos at 16 years old and everyone in São Paulo, where I was staying, was hyping them up.

I got back to Australia and talked them up when they were transferred to Europe but they never reached the heights they should have.

I'm in Brazil, rio, but not out on The streets as I'm feeling a bit sick. However I can hear the singing and dancing carrying on down at the beach so they party is continuing.

A lot of people left at half time though. I saw many tears and plenty of people yelling at the screen and the supporters leaving. Lots of frustration.

Pretty much like this.

German fans amirite :)

Kaka's only problem is he hasn't had any knees for five or six years. Which is a fairly big problem for a footballer, sure, but one half of him would still be far more preferable to some of the performances from the guys that did play this tournament.

Yeah, I guess, But one after another, they decayed, and Brazil had to create a whole new team out of ashes for this crazily expected World Cup. Pretty sad.

I hear some random fireworks from time to time. I guess people are burning through their stockpile.

I was sort of busy on PC while the first half of game was on and I kept thinking they were showing highlights cause I kept hearing goallllllllllll...yeah not the case

After watching a bunch of 0 to 0 games for the first 3/4's of the game, I decided not to watch from the beginning. When I turned on the match it was 0 to 5. I thought there must be a mistake.
