We're pretty much doomed forever.

To quote a genius of yore, AHHH LUCIANA VAI PRO INFERNO

VÁÁÁÁÁ

I never imagined that one day i would see Master Dalborgha in NeoGAF. DAY REDEEMED

A lot of things had to go wrong and the Germans had to exploit it for a result like that. It was legendary to watch for sure. This world cup man, this world cup.

Sometimes a team just whips another teams ass (in any sport). It happens. That's sports for ya. What makes it even worse is it was on their home turf.

Hilarious. USA gets no pitty from me when they choose to spend billions of dollars on the NFL when there are so many problems with education, poverty, classism and infrastructure. And then there's the arrogance...

I'm sorry, but they deserved to lose. All I can do is hope that the USA government and people will wake up and stop using NFL as some kind of distraction from the problems.

Fixed that for you.

It must have been racist to mention riots in Canada after Vancouver lost the Stanley Cup finals in 2011!

Are we Canadians? Have we rioted due to a defeat before? Did anyone think Germans would riot after they lost in 2006? Where does this come from?

Yeah, it's racist. And if it isn't, well, it should stop anyway, because it's baseless and offensive as fuck.

I mean, someone had to do SOMETHING for Christ's sake.

Do WC host automatically qualify?

I heard people say that this was Brazil's weakest team in a while.

yup host auto qualify, the problem with the host country while other teams are fighting for a WC spot over a 2 year qualifying period they are just playing friendly, they are not seeing the best a team can offer..

Probably not related to the loss. It looks like an anti-World Cup act trying to get support from the Brazilian people in this moment of suffering caused by the humiliation. Something like "You are out, this tournament sucks and come fight the government with us" thing. Again, there is no riot happening here.

Wow at the eyes of the girl below Jagger son
Looks like some horror movie

I think she has heavy make-up and her eyes are closed.

Just got back from a night out of the house and still can't believe what I watched today.

Truly incredible stuff, one for the history books to be sure. Watching Germany systematically bang goals in one by one was simply amazing.

What a stupid post.

The US government doesn't fund the NFL or any other professional sports. .

Please tell me this is a joke comment or youre very drunk.

Youre talking about stadiums. Guess who funds most stadiums in the US?

Edit:

Fun image!

These 186 stadiums cost $53.0 billion in 2012 dollars, of which $32.2 billion—or 61 percent—was publicly financed. That's a shitload of taxpayer money.

Dont throw football in glass houses

I don't think "racist" is the right word since "Brazilian" isn't an ethnicity or a race, it's a nationality (Brazil has whites, blacks, asians, mixed-race people there). Looks more like xenophobic to me.

Agreed he was having none of it when people were diving. He was calm and composed.

Does anyone have a gif of when Brazils bs Germany got into a shouting match and Neuer strutted in and broke it up?
He's been the best ref in the whole cup.
Yup.

He also wasnt card happy yet managed to keep a tight control over the players, despite a couple of fights breaking out. Also liked that he called out the people with the conflict separately from their groups and had them "sort it" before he began the match again.
Well, he don't see the Suárez bite
I wouldnt blame the ref for that one, he cant watch all 22 players on the field at once.
My Chrome translation isnt working well .. but whatever you are trying to tell, sounds racist.

Eh.

I agree that losing silva hurt but that doesn't explain what happened today. After the first 10 minutes Germany was literally strolling down the field with seemingly no pressure on them. Germany probably could have had a dozen or more if they wanted. They are not that talent and Brazil is not that horrible. Hell no one probably is at this level.

It doesn't require extraordinary talent to break a confused defense. None of Germany's goals were a high degree of difficulty. All were easy chip ins for players at this level. The Germans were able to run freely precisely because Brazil's defense was uncoordinated with the lack of their captain.

Besides that, Brazil looked demoralized after the second score, knowing they'd have to dig out of that big hole without their best striker.

Stop. Just stop. The US government does not fund the NFL or football stadiums.

The 1990s and early 2000s, on the other hand, were absolutely insane. From 1991 to 2004, a whopping 78 stadiums—5.6 per year—were built or underwent major renovation. This came to a cost of $26.0 billion (61 percent public).

Nope, not one cent!

And the superbowl is free too! No cost to taxpayers! NJ Transit had no better use for $6 MILLION than giving it to the NFL!

And those victory parades every year for every sport? Zero costs!

And its not like that money would be better spent elsewhere. Camden, for example, known as one of the poorest and most violent cities in the country clearly has no better use of tens of millions of dollars than to give it to one of the worst NBA teams in the country for a practice venue.

Point: Don't complain that money in Brazil should have been spent on schools instead of stadium when the same problem happens to a significantly larger degree down the road from your house.

You could have just posted "I don't know the difference between state, local, and federal government in the US" and saved us all the time. My original point stands.

Consider reading the start of the conversation rather than stumbling in the middle and making ignorant comments, and then backtracking into ridiculous technicalities.

Protip: Schools in the US are also not funded by the federal government.

smh
Yeah, brasil is also only ruled by a single guy handing out money for football stadiums...

Its quite the hole theyve dug for themselves.

That's $2 billion a year of a country with a GDP of $15 trillion. Let's assume the US's GDP in 2000, which was about $10 trillion. That's 0.0002% of GDP.

Brazil's GDP is 2.2 trillion. That $11 billion for the stadiums comes out to be 0.05% of GDP. Or in real terms, it's 250 times more costly for the Brazilian people.

To think that Argentina has the chance to win the WC on Brazil soil, sure Germany looks unbeatable right now but this is football and a lot can happen between now and then.

Of course this is only possible if Netherlands doesn't beat them tomorrow.

Argies lifting the cup and this trashing could be way too much humiliation for Brazil.

Argentina and Brazil have a bitter rivalry?

Psv - feyenoord 10-0 a couple of years ago (sorry Feyenoord fans). Both clubs are part of the classic 3 topteams in The Netherlands.

That's what it reminded me off. Still hurts, thinking back. We weren't even trying to stop making things worse. I know how you feel, Brazilians.
