Giant Bomb #8 | It's a Hit!

I think the sheer no of comic chapters turn me away from Conan. I'm avid Kindaichi reader though.

And you guys should try Kindaichi if you could find it.

Never heard of it, so I looked it up. Sounds interesting, for sure. How big of a role do the
supernatural elements
play?

God but I wish Patrick wouldn't write about process so much. This one about "well hey you should really confirm your offhand comments before publishing" is like... no shit. That one a while ago about the Threes knockoffs, too, like explaining about whois lookups and stuff. I don't care how you got the facts. I just want to know what the facts are.

Weirdly enough, that is the kind of inside baseball stuff that makes me more interested. I'm the kind of fan who likes to peak behind the curtain, see how the sausage is made, etc.

Whenever I politely correct Patrick on his typos in his articles, my comment gets deleted.

There seems to be mixed messages. They want to clamp down, but I don't think there are clear guidelines for it yet. I saw Rorie write something like "I probably wouldn't have moderated that post" a few days back, so trying to create that united front will take time.

lol... Funnily enough, there is actually less comments now on the article than when I left from work 2 hours ago....

Action Henk really looks like fun. I'm a sucker for games that are based around speed and momentum, and I love the child's playroom aesthetic here, something I adored in Army Men for N64.

There's not really anything supernatural with the series. Most of the crimes uses folklore / supernatural as part of the misdirection.

It's that kind of whodunnit story that invites the reader to guess who's the criminal and how the crime was perpetrated. No fancy gadgets, everything is grounded in reality, and almost of all the crimes are feasible for the readers to reenact.

Plus, there's no black and white antagonists, there's always good backstories with grey middle ground.

If it's Patrick's piracy article you're referring to, both Rorie and some mods hopped in there to clarify that there should be zero discussion or admission of piracy in there. Sorta cuts down on a lot of what you can post, aside from stuff like, "dirty pirates," "great article patrick," or spam. So then it become an echo-room and there's suddenly no reason to post any real comments about the article.

NinjaEdit: Baww. :(

No, talking about the XB1 article.

I can't post anymore because someone flagged one of my posts too many times :(

I thought you must have your math wrong. Nope, the show has over 600 episodes.

I'm not even gonna say anything.

I checked Wikipedia first. I couldn't believe it myself when I saw the number.

Also, over 600 episodes and counting

"After 17 years, after more and more new characters being created in the story, I couldn't stop inspiration coming into my head," Oda told ChinaTimes (via OPForum). "I think I can continue drawing for another decade."

I thought there was some sort of hidden "karma" thing to prevent stuff like that happening? Might want to contact Rorie or one of the techs so they can fix it.

I'll be the first to admit that it's surprisingly easy to accidentally hit "flag" instead of "quote."

I see, thanks. Conan is like that, too, obviously (re: supernatural as misdirection).

There doesn't seem to be a German localisation, so I'll have to look for the Tokyopop releases.

Yup talking to a mod now ! it seems like i was creating too many news topics with minimal context. I will be more careful from now on.

Yeah, the manga is hard to find. But if you're interested in the anime, maybe you could google kiss anime or something like that.

Yeah, it's on there. I'll give it a shot.

Starting the first episode, I was reminded that I only watched Conan with German dub (which, in my opinion, was excellent). Can't stand young Conan's high-pitched JP dub.

Yes, awesome week so far! They're back on track, baby!

Incidentally, I think we're doing quite alright, also. Maybe EmCee can speak of us, head raised, soon? :p

Watching the end of this Bot Colony video, I could only hope that the walls in this new office building are terribly thin and the TV Guide people heard Vinny yelling about a toy giraffe for a few minutes.

Somebody help me out with my shitty memory: Wasn't Skate 2 mentioned recently in a Live Stream or in a Podcast?

I kind of remember Danny playing a Skate game on his charity stream, but I don't remember which one. I also remember Jeff talking about the Skate games recently, but I don't remember where.

It's 3.75 right now on Xbox Live, and I'm thinking about it...

Dude, buy that shit, what are you doin'?

I want to remember if Jeff said Skate 2 or Skate 3 was his favorite Skating game, and I can't remember.

Doesn't matter, they're great.

Personally I preferred 2, but a lot of that was due to the fact that nobody needed to play a new Skate game ever year. I think somebody mentioned 3 as being their favorite, because I had an instinctual "ew, no" reaction to it. It's nothing like the Tony Hawk game dropoff. It's just small things, design of the city, lack of significant additions.

Why the fuck does the robot know who the candy skins are?

I have no idea. I looked up the band immediately on hearing it to see if the robot was right. He was.

Yeah it was a classic case of EA Franchise fatigue. I remember loving the second one. It's possible that the third one was better, who knows. Also the third one was leaning heavily on the social stuff and I bet all those servers are dead now so 2 is probably the best pick.
