What is the point of retweeting such a video? The damage is done and there is not a chance in hell FIFA will acknowledge their mistake about it.

It is a goal, because there is actually no time limit when the ball has to go in and there is no rule that says cheering after stopping the ball automatically makes you win unless the attacker again tries to kick the ball for the rebound.

EDIT: Oh, wait. He did touch the ball. Yeah, that is no goal.

This is one thing I love about this sport. How passionate people are about it combined with the never ending potential for interpretation.

I'm sure some people will live the rest of their lives thinking Vlaar scored his penalty.

Against a German team with Zieler in goal, earning a red card to bring us to 10 men and a penalty chance. With a Khedira own goal, and a wonderstrike from an in-form and not hurt Di Maria.

I wouldn't consider that awful friendly from 2 years ago to be an accurate representation of either team at this point in time.

Edit: I am not doubting Argentina's skills, just saying that your post there means very little. I expect a tough game.

Zieler/ter Stegen, Badstuber, Bender, Schmelzer, Reus, Gündogan.

Not the very same team, especially since ter Stegen wasn't very lucky in his matches for germany.

Not saying were winning by default. But it was a different team, different conditions and the biggest difference: We have Neuer in the goal. ;)

I hope for a great match on sunday.
 
I feel kind of bad for Cillessen, i think he actually played a really good game up until the penalties.

That said, i´m kind of glad we lost to Argentina. No way we would have made it against Germany in the final, and losing from Germany is just a little bit worse :p
 
Today I learned that Argentina, the team that starts Mascherano and Di Maria (when healthy) in the midfield, has no midfielders.

Also, when I'm made a mod in 2020, I will return to this thread and retroactively ban every single person who posted a Pallas cat picture. It's worse than doge, and I never thought that could even be possible.

Spain did everything right against Switzerland except that the ball didn't go in.

Spain was the most dominant side that cup, destroying and exhausting opponents with ball possession. They should've scored more, but one is enough to win anyway. No one had a proper chance against them really. I don't know if you've watched the Germany - Spain game, but Germany had no chance at all. They were figured out, Low said their performance was the absolute best they could do. How many goals did Spain actually concede? 1? And without bus parking but with 70% possession on avg.

Argentina is a different matter, they didn't control every game with ball circulation and didn't face such opposition yet.

Forgot that Reus missed the cup, and Gundogan too. Fuck the German team could've been even more scary with those 2.
 
Germany's attack will be stunted because they are going to have to put extra effort and caution towards keeping Messi in check. The final will probably be similar to this game with both teams cancelling each other out.
 
I think Brazil will win the game on Saturday, I just don't see them losing this game after the beatdown they just took. They're going to want to recover from that and placing 3rd would be a huge step in that.

Germany will win it all, but it'll be a close game, something like 2-1.
