That's probably my favorite Metroid piece after the Ridley, Dark Samus (Prime 3) and Crateria themes.

I tried watching a few times and it's not for me. Especially when they try to be professional broadcasters like a live sporting event. Being a NFL and NBA fan It just comes off as a parody to me.

I'd also really like a good remake of the Metroid Prime 1 Menu/Theme song - one that both combines the mysterious feeling of the original and is pumped up to get you in the mood for a good Smashing >=)
The remake they had in Brawl took too long to get going and just felt a little slow in tempo to me

It was nearly identical to the credits version. Personally, I prefer it.
My favorite themes from the Metroid series starts with stuff like Maridia, Brinstar Red Soil, both the NES and Zero Mission version of Kraid's Lair/the opening theme, and then it suddenly becomes a stupidly large and disproportionate amount of Metroid Prime 2 music. Emperor Ing A and B are just too immense overall. That first part (A) is just so alien and oppressive but then when the second part kicks in with that familiar and subtle use of Geiger scale SFX and the triumphant sounding theme.. It's just all "FUCK YES WE ARE KICKING ALIEN ASS NOW"

It was a few years ago and I don't remember all the details. Just that they disagreed with how their fighting game (I assume Blazblue?) was being handled and they got in to a shouting match with some of the organizers, then ended up taking all their materials and leaving.

On that second part, keep in mind that the commentators are there in part to help people not familiar with competitive gameplay understand what's going on, much like in regular sports.
The emperor Ing was pretty fantastic overall.
The environment themes from MP2 are my favorite in the series. Even just Agon Wastes' sparse instrumentation hits me in the right places. Only song I recall not liking from that game was the Temple Grounds theme.
Quadraxis is also up there in terms of everything.

The Harmony of a Hunter version would make for perfect combat music.
Honestly, we really need a Metroid arena shooter for Wii U that takes advantage of all the possible BGM.

As far as Smash games go: Yes, at least officially. They're probably be side tournaments for the other games just like at any big tournament.
Probably won't be streamed, right? I'll still catch some of it, maybe "something" will happen!

Really not sure what stage it would be appropriate in but I'd love to see Torvus Bog. It's a pretty chill song but I think the fast paced hi-hat would compliment a Smash match extremely well. And of course, Rundas and Gandrayda's themes pretty much have to be in at this point.

Depends. I imagine that their might be a couple of bootleg/cellphone streams, especially if someone runs a PM event. Most of the big dogs (VGBootCamp, ClashTournaments, etc.) will probably be focusing on Melee though.

The fact only Killer Instinct and Melee have an "awards and announcement" thing after them leads me to believe we'll get a smash 4 character announcement. We know the one after KI is most likely Cinder and maybe another season 2 character, hard to imagine why else they'd need a 30 minute announcement slot after Smash Bros Melee and not after any other game

Finished Metroid (completed fully for the first time! Been trying for ages), Super Metroid, and Metroid 2 (first time I had ever played, meh) within the last month or so. Ripping through Fusion now. Forgot how linear this game is, I love it though. It moves fast.
After that, the Prime trilogy awaits. Haven't played Prime 2 in the longest time, I'm psyched. When that's done, I might, just MIGHT, actually play through that game that's been stinking up my shelf for so long. Metroid Other M.
Really wish there was an easy way to get my hands on Zero Mission. I've always really wanted to play it, and especially now that I've fully completed the original, more so.

All we got are 30 min blocks for "Awards and Announcements" on the EVO stream schedule after Melee and Mahvel. No idea who's gonna be making any announcements, though. My money's on Mortal Kombat X.
Well we all know that Mahvel isn't getting an announcement (god I wish), so I don't know how much this helps Smashe's case. Could just be a combined ending ceremony.
