Jesus he's a monster, really goes to show how much of a skill gap halo 1 has.

I'm actually more excited to finally play this online TBH :D

This was a terrible example of that though, most of us posting in this thread could've beaten that guy 10-0. Dude was trying to use an AR from long range.

Where do you pull these quotes from? I feel like you just always want to point out how much 'better' CE is for the sake of being annoying.

I don't agree that CE is the only true Halo and every single entry after was a baby game (well, maybe not 4).
In what tone do you read my posts? As if I'm this big evil hardcore CE pompous dick who's set out to belittle those who lack CE experience. All I was saying was that when directly comparing both games, CE has a wider skill gap than Halo 2. That's all I said.. If you find it annoying how I make these slight "adjustments" sometimes, then that's your problem. When people say something I disagree with (Pistol being OP is a prime example), I point it out with the hopes of maybe opening up the person to the wider gameplay and depth of that game and then they can come to a more informed conclusion on their own.

This is part of that HaloGAF cycle at this point; someone complaining of my "CElitism" as I draw comparisons to CE while trying to be as inoffensive as possible lmfao

I don't think anyone is arguing with you that CE was not the most, if not the epitome of competitive Halo but your insistence that anything afterwards was total shit noob material is super reductive and ignorant.
I don't believe I ever said the games after were total shit noob. In fact, if you were to actually be more active around here (I can say this because you clearly have not seen me give a shit ton of credit to Halo 2 Objectives, maps, the undeniable improvements made since CE, etc.), then you would know how excited I am to try out every Halo game under optimal conditions, unlike that shitty Halo 3 net code which obviously impacted all of our experiences.

I always post under the assumption that people know/believe/have faith in baby jesus that I am not this arrogant ass you probably think I am lol

Yeah and I'm the guy lamenting about "I don't know where he is!!!" in reference to Ghost, using an AR on Prisoner...

Quite the fair example indeed! It wasn't uncommon to have pros shutout by other pros in games of Warlock and Lockout 1v1's so I don't know where you're going with that.
I could argue the opposite, but I won't because that's more on a personal experience basis. Something like a skill gap is not.

So, this is basically Old HaloGAF summed up in a single image right?

That's pretty funny that you think that given how passive-aggressive and outright self-righteous your posts are in regards to CE.

Reminding people that you aren't what everyone suspects you to be is also pretty silly.

All games are.
It's amazing people don't know this at this point as this question has been asked multiple times in this and the other Halo MCC thread. Why would one of the most anticipated games of the year NOT be available digitally day one when every other game that has come out for the xbox one has been?

Every game has some sort of skill gap. What I was pointing out was the comparison between CE and Halo 2 which was pretty well known* back then.

*When I say well known, I'm referring to the people who had the years of experience with both games. Not the types of people who never played CE yet shat on it for having an OP Pistol because that's what they were told.

Yes I did, a lot. The skill gap from a pro who can consistently button combo (most difficult thing in H2 was quad shotting IMO, and that wasn't even too difficult as long as you were conscious of learning through frequently failed battles that you know/accept you would have won otherwise, so not letting the mentality of "well shit, people will think I suck if I don't have 50 kills this game so I won't put as much emphasis on learning to be consistent with it" take over is what players needed to work through -- In other words, if people put in the little effort, even the most difficult tech in Halo 2 doesn't widen its skill gap all that much IMO) was not the massive leap as it was in CE.

For example, if the Play A Pro thing was held for Halo 2, I'm sure we would've seen someone get higher than a frikkin 2 (that's TWO) in a 1v1 against Ghostayame lol

Yep, halo CE has the biggest skill gap of any Halo without question. Particularly individual skill.

Halo 2 there was skill that skill gap (especially once button combos were discovered) but to me it was more of a team based game.

In CE you could clear out a team alone in seconds if you were good enough. In H2 you needed to team shoot a lot more to be successful. (although like I said things like BxR could make you take out multiple guys quickly)

For me personally I've always said CE was the best 2v2 experience and Halo 2 was the best 4v4 experience.

Damn, everyone? Ahh well, not a single person finds my posts reasonable then..

I really can't wait to play that game online. Sniping felt so good in Halo 3, but the poor netcode really hurt it. Looking forward to more reliable ranged shootouts.

Yeah, the requirement to team shoot (for people that don't know, all team shooting is is two or more people shooting at one target to kill them much faster since kill times went up and the power of an individual player went down) to be really effective is a big distinguisher between both games.
Wasn't this image in some guy's signature on the old MLG forums? lol
That picture was everywhere and was the quickest one I could find to talk about the skill gap lol

I'd love to be lied to and end up receiving a superior game. :)

I don't get the halo 4 hate either. For me it was a great game... Part from the fucking boltshot.

Anyway all this talk of skill gap. I aint the best player, but the biggest problem I have had with halo games is not the "pro" gamers kicking my are, it was getting dumped into every game that was hosted in the US!

What an amazing experience! Getting noob combo'd before the plasma bolt has even hit me or getting killed with one shot of the br or meleeing someone and it having no affect etc.. The list is endless.
