US PSN 99¢ Flash Sale: Wild Arms, Syphon Filter, Dino Crisis, Legend of Dragoon, more

Was excited for Syphon Filter. Then ended up with:

Worms
Tekken 2
Twisted Metal Black
Toejam and Earl
Syphon Filter
Syphon Filter 2
Syphon Filter 3
and Harvest Moon

Pretty solid sale, I'd say.

(I already owned both Dino Crisis games, Dragoon, and whatever ones were free at some point on Plus)

Need advice on my potential purchase:

Wild Arms
Wild Arms 2
Dino Crisis
Dino Crisis 2

Are all of these games worth it? I've never played either series, so I'd like to just make sure that even a dollar isn't wasted before I take the plunge.

Cheers.

Dino Crisis 2 is a simple, well-made, not complex game that's a blast.

You will shoot dinosaurs, use cheesy tank controls and walk through maps, and then walk through some more maps on your way to shoot BIGGER dinosaurs. (There's some ammo/item conservation that having a FAQ makes easier. Back in the day we just tore out pages from a magazine guide.)

There will be a great as in REALLY F'IN GREAT!!!, Capcom arcade-style jeep 1st person drive and shoot-em-up sequence (that was totally ripped off in Uncharted 1) that is worth your $1 purchase of this game all by itself.

Dino Crisis 2 is a dumb, good game that had a number of moments that were as good as it gets in terms of action sequences on the PS1. Worth 4 quarters just for the cheese of it and history value, for sure.

Wilds Arms 1 is a must buy and worth it, but since getting the disc and case are cheap if you are into that sort of RPG collecting you might want to consider buying the OG game.

Depends on what you want.
If Action go with DC2. If Survival Horror DC1.

You don't need to play 1 at all for the story in DC2.
They're both basically stand alone games.

Hmmm.. well I've played many action games but very few survival horror games, which kind of makes Dino Crisis 1 more appealing to me. I could spend my $2 on getting both of them though.

Guys, Machinarium Vita or Toejam and Earl?

I've played Machinarium on my Mac and PS3 though but still, I love this game (except for the board puzzle game).

dino crisis 1 is really hard...

Don't feel bad about putting it on easy if you need to. Just like RE helps out a lot with more Health and Ammo.

If you can get both I would. They're polar opposites of each other gameplay wise.
But easily some of the best in their genres. Because of DC2 keeping the tank controls it's a unique action game.

I remember liking DC2 quite a bit, DC1 is really Resident Evil with dinos, but with DC2 they go all out action even giving you hi score in each encounter. it's pretty fun. not sure how it holds up now though since I hadn't played it since.

I played Syphon Filter again a couple weeks ago, remember liking it a lot back then, but realized it's really hard to play now, need quite a bit of time adjusting to the control scheme and everything, also getting stuck with puzzles straight at the beginning, it's one of those thing that remind me how different the level design is from syphon filter days to nowadays. lol. I did had fun once I got used to it again.

I picked up Papo & Yo and Tekken 2.

Only missing Tekken and Tekken 3. Then my collection is complete.

Was Tekken 1 & 3 on PSN? I only remember seeing Tekken 2 for the longest time. Wonder why they never put Tekken Tag (PS2 HD edition for PS3) on PSN as it was on that Hybrid PS3 disk years ago...bummer.

Tekken 1 is on PSN... I can't remember if 3 is or not, and the website is acting an ASS right now, so I can't check.

Can anyone explain why there are certain games you can't directly download on Vita? I really want to get Legend of Dragoon(among other games like Valkyria Chronicles 2) but I don't have a PS3.

In for SF1+2, Dino Crisis 2, and Wild Arms 2

Decided to pick up wild arms 1/2. dino crisis 2, and twisted metal and I randomly got 5$ in my wallet so I didn't even need to pay for them. Score.

I have most of the ones I really wanted (Double Dragon Neon, Machinarium, Malicious, etc.) as a PS+ subscriber, so I guess Virtua Fighter 2 and ToeJam & Earl for me.

I'm tempted to get Wild Arms but how does the localization hold up?

I can't really recall clearly, but I do remember WA2's being a little spotty in areas but never really offensive.

Either way, as far as localizations go, they were two of early SCEA's better ones. Certainly not the messes like Grandia or Star Ocean 2 received.

It's fine. Not omg-awesome, but nothing blatantly bad. The biggest offender, IMO, is how clunkily they translated Jack's surname: it's supposed to be Vambrace (the piece of armour), not "Van Burace". It's sorta plot-relevant too, I have no idea what the translator was thinking. xD

In order of "happiness" factor

Velocity Ultra (PS3)
Machinarium (PS3)
Double Dragon Neon
Papo and Yo
Worms Revolution
Harvest Moon
OddWorld Munch

Good deal for just under $7. (Still prefer to collect PS1 on disc ). Best guess is I'll defintely play through the first three as they are genres I collect/play routinely, but always nice to have games like the last four in the mix for that rainy day where you just want something offbeat to try out.

Tekken 3's never going to happen on PSN :( Fucking Gon.

Already had quite a few of the games but I did grab:
Dyad
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature
Legend of Dragoon
Syphon Filter 2
Velocity Ultra PS3
Wild Arms 2

Got:
Legend of Dragoon
Wild Arms 1/2
Dino Crisis 1/2
Harvest Moon:BTN

6 Nice games for Vita for $6, PS1 games on PS3 kind of stink hope they improve it on PS4. Those Syphon Filter PS1 games don't hold up that well imo, even on Vita. I have all of them but didn''t bother with them except to try them out, the PSP games still play great though.

Copped

Tekken 2
Worms
Dino Crisis
Dino Crisis 2
Harvest Moon

Anyone know how Wild Arms is like? Does it have anything to do with mechs? lol

Wild Arms 1 is a classic and still a great time (and most of the game is 2D). It doesn't really have to do with mechs though it does have big monsters and some like...inorganic big life forms I guess.

Picked up Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2, Virtua Fighter 2, Harvest Moon, and Legend of Dragoon.

Wanted to grab Wild Arms 2 as well, but I didn't want to have to add $10 in funds.
