PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

Just finished Danganronpa (in a 12h marathon) but it was fucking worthy, every single moment of it. Can't remember the last time I was this hooked to a game, seriously. The last strech went on forever but it was awesome, and some of the reveals throughout the game were fantastic. Can't wait for DR2. Hell, I might even go for the platinum this time, and I'm not even that much of a trophy chaser.

It's currently my GOTY, amazing game

Completely agree, great game.

Are any parts of the Vita underclocked?

Could Sony overclock it eventually to get better performance?

Just curious.

I believe the processor is said to be underclocked, not sure about the GPU.

I think what I liked most about it that was a very dark game but also very quirky. Kind of like Drakengard 3 (which is also in the running for my GOTY.) I just wish I didn't have to play School Mode for the platinum :/.

I ended up getting Wild Arms 2. Screw it, it's only $1 and I had $1.04 in my wallet. It's one of the only PS1 jrpgs I've never played, it's still half 2D in the overworld, I got the first one free on PSN, and I liked that one enough back when it came out.

I considered platinuming it, but got bored after finishing the school mode once. Might go back to it at some point though

I have seen lots of talking about this game, but what is it? Is it a RPG? Action?

Is the game any good? I picked it up last week because it was on sale in the store, but know nothing about it nor did I play it.

I wish I knew.

I played the beta and it was very "meh", however I heard the initial release was a bit better and this update is supposed to make it even better than that (this is supposed to be the version they should have released, as they've fixed a ton of $#!7).

I have seen lots of talking about this game, but what is it? Is it a RPG? Action?

It's a visual novel with puzzle/mystery and social elements (like those in P4G).

One of the definitions that I remember being told is that the game is a mix of 999/VLR/Ace Attorney/Persona, with 999/VLR bringing the mystery, Ace Attorney the cases and Persona the social links.

i dont care about eu

I bought Tales of Symphonia Chronicles a while ago, I went to it's page on PSN (while signed in) and saw that it was listed as "free". Other games that I have purchased are listed with their current price. Is this normal?

It supports suspend and resume of downloads. It doesn't support suspend and resume of gameplay which I think you've confused it with.

1. Yes
2. You mean on the standard 500GB? ~430GB.
3. Yes, internal, SATAII, 9,5mm, 2,5"
4. You can't manually pause/resume (yet). But if you for example shut down your PS4, it will pick up the download where you left it the next time you boot up (or in stand-by, if you choose so).

Hmmm, thanks. What about in the case of disconnected Internet? Can I still resume download from the point in which it's disconnected or do I have to repeat all over?

It's good to hear that the internal HDD can be replaced. Anyone here did that? Was the process easy or difficult?

Anyone who has Wild Arms 2 and a US PS3 mind shooting me a USB file so I can transfer the game to my Vita? I want to start a New Game+ with any possible carry over.

Any time you see the message saying "Network features have been disabled" (or something like that), that means the game is using the full GPU. It is downclocked for battery life. Devs have to disable network functionality to access the full power.

The reverse-cloud...they should name it "ground computing".

j/k

On topic, I know that it might be a bad idea since the game is heavy on the online aspects, but they should do it to Borderlands 2. If you play offline, better FPS.

Is that also what's happening when it automatically dims to about 75% brightness? I first noticed that with Metal Gear Solid 2&3 HD.

I originally thought it was just to conserve battery life for hours of dialogue.

Thatvfiesnt increase the amount of processing power available to devs. Disabling the network features does though.

I was wondering why this happened on FFX, now I know!

Truth, but that's only the GPU - the CPU is still heavily underclocked from its 2GHz max.

PS; Notice this means Killzone Mercenary doesn't use the full available power of the Vita and yet is a work of art? Isn't that lovely? :)

Damn it only took you only 12 hours? When I played through DR the first time it took me 32 hours! Did you do any exploring at all?

No no, I actually had more hours before, but today I rushed the last 12 hours.

EDIT: Just saw the save, a little under 21 hours. I didn't do much exploring for Coins in this first playthrough, I'll try to do that later, otherwise I would go crazy trying to find them.

Ok good lol you're not like a certain other user on here that I know of that blazed through the game in 11 hours... *cough*
Kresnik
*cough*

The last 2 chapter of the game are absolutely fantastic.

I agree, I loved the development of the story.

I'm playing through it a second time right now since my hype for DR2 is through the roof and I'm enjoying it as much as the first time. My first play through I literally checked every nook and cranny and talked to everyone I could now I'm focusing on some trophies/ relationships for whenever I decide to get the platinum.

I want one of those assist grips that make it like you're holding a Dualshock but they are so hard to come by :(

In lieu of the Japanese assist grips what you should get is the Spartan Vita Grip which they were selling in Australia for a time. The handles are all rounded, don't get in the way of the triggers, and importantly look like Dualshock controller handles.

Question to the Dananronpa fans:

I'm pretty easy to please with handheld games but for some reason Virtue's Last Reward didn't click with me. I appreciate what it was doing, but I think it was something to do with the puzzles being too oriented to toward the left side of the brain.

Are the puzzles in Danganronpa the same? Is it kind of like you have to like one to like the other?

Danganronpa is more like Ace Attorney as far as "puzzles" go. Like, point-and-click investigations and finding contradictions in statements.

There aren't really any puzzles in Danganronpa. It's pretty much just collecting evidence (The game won't move on until you find everything you need for each trial anyway) and then bringing up the right stuff at the right points in each trial.

I had one from Japan, bought on ebay without problems. It was simply perfect.

In fact, I'm planing on buying another one.

Also, the PS4 game The Last of Us Remastered is up for pre-order with the Survival Pack. Prices are AU$62.95 and it's coming out either 30 July or 1 August, depending where you are.

Huh, much more reasonable than I expected!

Not sure if I'll pick it up at launch, might hold onto my cash until Destiny and just play through my Vita backlog.

I bet I don't even get halfway through FFX HD before Destiny >_<
