GameFreak probably has nothing to do with it, if it really is a Namco/TPCi collaboration.

I also don't think they'd cannibalize any SSB sales with just an announcement, especially if the release date was just 2015. If anything they could use Lucario as some kind of promotion for it.

Apparently there's a chance he has colon cancer, since his family has a history of it and he has polyps. Either way, it hurts too much for him to keep commentating.

There is no Pokemon game that doesn't go through a NIntendo SPD production team. GameFreak is on the lower tier often not being involved in any outside mainline Pokemon games.

Oh wow that sucks. Hopefully he will come out fine, he and D1 made a awesome commentating tag team.
 
I envy all of you that get to go to bed. In my timezone it's happening at midnight, so I'll be fully awake and aware for the next 11 hours.
 
Shulk is such a weird character to reveal randomly after a hype build up. Like, those that know who he is probably know about the leak and those who don't know who he is aren't going to really care, or might even be disappointed it's "just Shulk"

I don't know, I probably would have switched Shulk and Palutena, but whatever. Palutena is at least sort of known from 3 games over 30 years (and Pit's FS in Brawl), Shulk is from a limited print RPG extremely late in the Wii's lifespan.

Perhaps it was a scheduling issue, and there aren't enough Directs left for the three characters before release, so they figured that throwing a trailer out on its own was better than showing it after release, or only having it appear in the game.

In PAL and especially Japan it was released earlier and more widely.

The whole leak thing is pretty disappointing. I would be crazy hyped to see who it is tomorrow but I'm not because I know already.
 
If it's not Shulk tomorrow now after Sal posted that...the Internet will explode.

If it Shulk, everyone will still doubt that it's true.

It should be Shulk with a Lucas veteran reveal. So everyone would be like "OMG WHAT?!? IS NESS COMING BACK THEN OR NOT BECAUSE THE LEAK SAID..."

Or if Chorus Men were shown tomorrow...I'm having more fun with the potential meltdowns.
Also I really just want my main man Lucas back.
