Sakurai will probably show more details on her moves in due time. Robin was the bigger reveal and got more screen time due to being more unique.

She is an entirely separately selectable character like Marth and Ike are.

Well, she is a different person than everyone else.Thats why she has a place on teh website. But that is not incompatible with her being an alternate appearence. She has been downplayed in the gameplay footage and the small chunks we've seen from her, she's just Marth's armature with other model on it, just like all alternate appearences.

That doesn't necessarily mean that we've seen nearly all the newcomers; some may be unlockable characters, who won't be revealed via a video. Lucario, ROB, Toon Link, and Wolf weren't announced on the Brawl dojo until after the game was released.

In any case, it's looking like 50 characters is a possibility. We're already up to 36 (I'm counting Mii as one character). And chances are good we'll get at least some, if not all of the following:

- Ice Climbers
- Metaknight
- Jigglypuff
- Mewtwo
- Ness
- Lucas
- Falco
- Wolf
- Ganondorf
- Mr. Game and Watch
- ROB
- Snake
- Wario

Is the debate essentially "Will Lucina have her own character slot on the selection screen?"
I think the answer to that is definitely yes. No way she gets all this fanfare just to be an alt costume. Come on guys
 
Captain Falcon has been my main since 64 so it was great to see him looking final boss-like and kicking ass. Even when Robin intervenes, Falcon just acrobatted away from the attack, totally ready for it.

Either way, she's obviously more of a clone than even Toon Link, and so far she's one of the only newcomers to not get art in her profile. She also didn't get her own trailer. It's entirely possible that she's a "Newcomer" that's actually just an alt costume.


She's not an entirely new character though, her moves are Marth's moves.

actually the reason she probably doesnt have her own art work is that her and robin both share the piece together (they are both center in robins piece both taking almost identical space)

also while yes lucina does seem to share marths side b and his neutral air her dodge does seem slightly different from marths as she does a slight step back like little mac at least thats what i saw also SUPER HYPED ABOUT LUCINA HOLY SHIT

Question: Who did the promo art for the FE newcomers?
 
Am I missing something? Did we see more of her moves or something that I didn't notice? Any clue wut her custom moves are? Cause as of now I see a ton of leaping to conclusions.

They just decided not to post the same art for two different characters the same day, giving priority to the newcomer which isn't a clone.

Also I thought the *Wakes her sword?!" was a in game reference
Lucina's sword is awakened and Chrom's is not.
 
The CG style from FE:A (and PoR) is so good. Falcon looks great in the trailer. More cutscenes should be done that way.
 
Of course Lucina is a clone. That is her character. She is a wannabe.

the official awakening artist Yusuke Kozaki (lucina robin and chrom look like his style but i think the other characters are a bit outta his comfort zone maybe?)

You know what? You win.

Mario and Luigi now share the same space and you can pick which of the two you want.

Pichu is back! You can select Pichu via Pikachu's character space.

Fox and Falco now share the same space.

Marth and Lucina now share the same space.

Captain Falcon and Ganondorf now share the same space.

Link and Toon Link now share the same space.

Forgot to add Ridley and Charizard share the same space.
 
I'm guessing there's two more of these type of trailers left. One will definitely be shown in the expected August direct and the other may be early September.
 
I know the majority think there's nothing to it, but Lucina's reveal feels off to me. She doesn't feel like a new character - her moveset appears beyond mere clone character but looks exactly like Marth's. Hopefully customizable movesets allows her to feel more unique.

I think she's an alt at this point in time.
