Not when there's also the real site and the trailer.
The """"""real"""""" (?) site lists Lucina as a newcomer: http://www.smashbros.com/us/characters/lucina.html
The trailer gives her a newcomer splash screen.
Not when there's also the real site and the trailer.
That's the more complex explanation in this case lol. Simpler explination says that she's not a legit newcomer.
Exactly. Whereas Wii Fit Trainer F/M, Robin M/F, and Villager M/F are interchangable because they do no have separate characterization Marth/Lucina is not. They've never cared about clones having their own slots before. They are slots on a select screen, they don't mean anything. Rolling her into Marth's slot does nothing but confuse people who want to play as Lucina.

Oh I agree. Everything about Lucina is soooo good. I'm all for Lucina in Smash and Super happy about her reveal.I know one of the main reasons that she doesn't have a long banner is because she shares the same artwork as Robin there, but they could have just cropped the part that she appears in in the art to make a long banner work. Kind of a shame because the image is soooooo good.

... Wut?
I'm sorry but I'm really baffled by this debate over her legit character hood.
Soooo ... when did an alt get it's own splash title? When did you ever select a clone from some other character's icon? How is she any less of a character than Falco or Toon link?
WTF am I reading?
Just so everyone is on the same page and so I can clear this hilarious misconception up, Lucina is her own seperate character. She's not selectable from Marth like the WiiFitTrainer/Villager/Robin.
"oh but on the site she doesn't have a long rectangle banner like Robin"
Oh but she does on mobile.

But with a ?, then proceeds to show that she's the same as Marth. She also doesn't have her own art. It's definitely not a sure thing. The real site lists Lucina as a newcomer: http://www.smashbros.com/us/characters/lucina.html

+5? Welp.

Also, what stage is this?

watch when FExSMT is a 2v2 fighting game like TTT2 or SFxT![]()
She hasn't been given the same treatment as any other new character: no poster, barely any footage on the reveal trailer. She has the same armature and animations as Marth, and we´ve seen that characters can have different models now, not just texture swaps. I thin it makes way more sense for her to be a aestethic option than a character with an slot on the roster. And the way the reveal was handled supports all of this in my opinion.
Maybe it's a joke about Chrom being the favourite. We see knocked out on the floor and Lucina steps forward. Trailer is surprised she's the newcomer and not him.I thought it was only an English flair (since the Japanese version all have the same "Enters the Battle" kanji), but Lucina in the Japanese trailer also has "?!" on it. I wonder why.
>_>
now what
someone photoshop a Luma into mine
I'm saying there's a possibility she's an alt, which there is. Why are you so hostile? Calm down.
Watch the trailer. It's something like "Lucina draws her sword?!"What is this '?' People are talking about?
She's not an entirely new character though, her moves are Marth's moves. Why would she be an alt? Why would they go through the effort to make her an entirely new character and then toss her in as a different costume for a more or less unrelated costume? Every other alt shown so far has either been the same person (Mac's hoodie) or an alternate gender to an unspecific character (Villager, Wii Fit Trainer and Robin)
There's no reason at all she's an alt. None what so ever.
I was thinking if buying it. If I got the Marth and Ike dlc can I use them from the start?I think I might start playing through Awakening again to celebrate today.
Or F-Zero GX.
I figured the question mark was there to make you doubt her inclusion when robin appeared.
like "Oh, it's not Lucina, it was robin".
No idea what colour Luma you'd prefer, but I just grabbed a red one.

There is if you do not like her which the people arguing most against her being her own character have shown in the past. Why would she be an alt? Either way, she's obviously more of a clone than even Toon Link, and so far she's one of the only newcomers to not get art in her profile. She also didn't get her own trailer. It's entirely possible that she's a "Newcomer" that's actually just an alt costume.
No, with a "!?", as in punctuation expressing shocked confusion at an unexpected turn of events, ie, Lucina being in over Chrom. But with a ?
You see small snippets of footage in which she appears outwardly similar to Marth, much like many standalone newcomers in the Smash Bros series being similar to existing ones, yes.then proceeds to show that she's the same as Marth.
Robin's art is shared between them. Lucina is drawn right next to Robin in an equal place of prominence as newcomer. She also doesn't have her own art.
It's definitely not a sure thing.
Sakurai said that he wants every newcomer to have a video.Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Sakurai say that we were nearing the bottom of the list for newcomer videos?
That doesn't necessarily mean that we've seen nearly all the newcomers; some may be unlockable characters, who won't be revealed via a video. Lucario, ROB, Toon Link, and Wolf weren't announced on the Brawl dojo until after the game was released.
In any case, it's looking like 50 characters is a possibility. We're already up to 36 (I'm counting Mii as one character). And chances are good we'll get at least some, if not all of the following:
- Ice Climbers
- Metaknight
- Jigglypuff
- Mewtwo
- Ness
- Lucas
- Falco
- Wolf
- Ganondorf
- Mr. Game and Watch
- ROB
- Snake
- Wario
Plus, the comment "we're nearing the end of the newcomer videos" certainly suggests that we've got at least one more.
She has literally the exact same moves as Marth, we haven't seen that in a while (ever?). And the art is on Robin's page, not Lucinas. All I'm saying is that until we see a select screen or hear otherwise from Sakurai, it's not a sure thing. Everyone who says it's definitely one way or the other is gonna look stupid if it ends up being something else. No, with a "!?", as in punctuation expressing shocked confusion at an unexpected turn of events, ie, Lucina being in over Chrom.

No, it really is.
The DLC is actually a mission where you have to recruit them. I think you have to play like 4 missions before you can do the DLC stuff. I never used them because they can't marry anyone.I was thinking if buying it. If I got the Marth and Ike dlc can I use them from the start?
Today shall be remembered as Smash Day.So many surprises today: Rayman trophy, Playable Robin, No playable chrom and CAPTAIN FALCON!!
An alt costume with a page on the site is not a "newcomer."
