DUST PALACE | The Cabal Trailer

Because he's probably a friend/familiar to the person who wrote the note? All I can say is that if I had a robot friend, I would call him/her "XJ-86."

Maybe Cayde is the model/series reference, and Cayde-6 is the 6th variant or version. What we know from the Exo Grimoire card text:

"Exo began as self-aware war machines developed by humanity during the Golden Age for a long forgotten war, with the sole purpose of protecting their creators. They were rebooted during the collapse and now have no memory of their original function. Exos are "so advanced that nothing short of a Ghost can understand their inner functions. They remain ciphers, even to themselves; their origins and purpose lost to time. Whoever built the Exos fashioned them in humanity's image, gifting them with diversity of mind and body. Many of the City's Exo citizens live and work alongside their organic brethren, yet others fight again, reforged in the Light of the Traveler to serve as Guardians."

So. Humanity is at war (because when aren't we at war...), and the Exo are created to protect their creators. After the war, the Exo are shut down (maybe, it's unclear here.)
Collapse happens and Exo are turned back on (at least that's my understanding of "rebooted" being used here) but have no memory of their original function.
They are so advanced, only a Ghost (which we still don't know much about, maybe an agent of the Traveller?) can understand them. I take it humanity haven't tried taking one apart to see how they work then?
 
OK, I bought a PS4 just in time for the beta.

I've been on media blackout since Destiny was unveiled.

What I know: there is a moon and a wizard emanated from it.

That's pretty much it.
 
Alright I finally decided!

I pre-ordered the PS4 Digital Deluxe bundle. Once I get the amazon PS4 standard pre-order beta key i'll cancel it.

My first retail PS4 digital game. But i think this one makes the most sense as I can see my self booting it up for a quick couple instances here and there or doing some Vita remote play farming and having no disc will make it better. And i save more for the future DLC this way. I just had to give up the LE version, which amazon had sold out anyway.

Yeah, from that passage they're definitely the same Exos since the beginning. The passage also confirms the Battle of the Twilight Gap came well before the Collapse. Another Exo quote revealed that the first Exo consciousness was brought by an infamous subroutine. So they definitely have a storied past.
 
Reading the Tower NPC breakdowns. It's kind of depressing. No one seems to know what to do. And many seem to be giving up hope.

Hey guys whats going on? glad i kinda missed that whole big discussion going on lol. But anyway ya, i got my PS4 yesterday and was freaking out about switching my pre-order and went today and was lucky enough that i was able to switch it to the LE of PS4 ^_^ soo im all set now. Just cant wait for the damn beta to come out >_< sucks that im going to be out of town for the weekend because im going to a bachelor party so ill miss a couple days of the beta, but i still cant wait.

Also is there gong to be other threads, or something on here specifically for posting your PSN info and all that for clans, aside from the threads on bungie.net? just curious ^_^

Pretty much. We know that the Golden Age was brought by the Traveler after we found it on Mars, and the Mars city Freehold was once bustling with life, so I wouldn't be surprised if we developed the AI technology on Mars, and so many years later the Cabal have a hold of it. As for it being restricted, it could possibly be that Exo's were meant to be peaceful machines, but were then brought to life by war.
 
Speculation follows but spoilered since it discusses some Lore and stuff from cutscenes shown in trailers.

Looking at some of the quotes from FutureWarCult's (the GAFfer) Reddit posts.. It would seem The Queen of The Reef has some dealings with The House of Wolves. Someone here in one of the previous threads pointed out that The Queen of the The Reef was shown with Fallen Guards. So with The Dark Below expansion seemingly dealing with whatever it is at the bottom of the Hellmouth on The Moon.. perhaps House of Wolves expansion will be The Queen's Fallen helpers (hired hands?) turning on her and us having to help her out?

Stumbled upon this on Reddit. Inviting randoms to your fireteam:

Happened to stumble upon a public event and meet a bunch of a**-kicking guardians? Want to keep the party going after you leave the public space rather than have your new pals disappear randomly as you travel down a tunnel? Have no friends playing the beta on your system and need to make some on the fly?

Don't forget that you can invite guardians you meet on your travels to join your fireteam -- you don't need to be friends with them beforehand. Do this by hitting R3+Menu button (for PS4 this was R3+Options, will obviously vary system to system) and selecting "Invite to Fireteam" from the choices. You can also check out their PSN/XBL profile from here.

yea chrome is really bad with gifs on mobile. Posted half of it from mobile so didnt realize the file size. Lemme know if it's any better.

Minus is the only site i know of that will host gif albums. Gonna move them there asap.
