Lars, the dude doing the MP map walkthroughs on IGN with McCaffrey, said during one of the videos that Control will be the only gametype for the beta, so unless they're going to "switch on" another type after maintenance or something, we'll just have to wait and see I guess.

This is the most direct and informative I think DeeJ has ever been. Plenty of things in there to digest not only about the nature of the game, but also about Bungie's thought process and their vision for the future. It's great that they're slowly unshackling those chains and they're able to talk more freely the closer we get to launch.
Very curious about the changes between the alpha, especially how they addressed some weapons like the Shotgun and Hand Cannon.
I'm betting that the cap will be level 12-14
I just got that feeling you know, also would show people the secondary abilities.
I am however not prepared to bet anything like sucking all the dicks though, I will donate an extra $10 to the childplay event if I am wrong I am already going to donate.
My thoughts too, considering there's been previous mention of being able to use the higher-rarity items (i.e Blue) items in the beta. That'd put the minimum level cap at 12, from what I can remember of the items that showed up in the alpha.

I really want to get at least one of the upgrades to our supers. I want to see exactly how effective the vortex will be on Nova Bomb, since vortex is the first upgrade to it. For the full release though, I'll probably be going with Nova Lance for my final choice in my first Voidwalker tree.

Yeah man, I'm going to stick every bit of rare gear I find in the vault, useable or not. I won't trust anyone's word on anything until I'm logging in on September 9th and seeing for myself.

Think it will be awesome to not be stat tracking this weekend, did so much number crunching in alpha that it hurt, even think some poor gaffer joined me while I was doing it (even discovered a glitch after a event). Titan....hulk smash.

I'm expecting there to be more than 1 mode for crucible now. Was pretty bummed (and shocked) that it wasnt announced but them being vague (AND SNEAKY!!) bout it now makes me hopeful.
Unless they wanted to focus the beta more on exposure on story and character progression and whatnot.

Haven't gotten mine yet. Figure they hadn't actually manufactured them until fairly recently.

Really wish I had ordered one, but that $25 is better spent going towards the Destiny/PS4 combo I preordered. Still, such a nice shirt.

Ordered mine on 23rd June and they stated delivery would be approx 3 weeks so I'd expect them any time now. I'm from the UK so may be a while longer for me. Hopefully I'll get it in time to wear during the beta.
Received a shipping confirmation today so I imagine I'll receive mine in a week or so.

Yep, there was never anything to suggest they'd go hog wild on more planets in the beta.
That's what I have been led to believe anyway, I think it'll have a cap of 12 with the higher exp earnings and probably a better drop rate for rare blue items so people can sink their teeth into it and also get to test the upgraded supers. I just can't wait. Although I fully expect the 17th to be probably a bit unplayable, Remember Reach? The servers literally melted from load, I would expect either on the 17th or the 26th to at least hear about a server melt down in some form as it wouldn't be a Bungie beta without it.
I have also been reading that people want to keep their stats and levels, I totally disagree with this, also I think it's a good thing that they aren't keeping levels or stats, as it would firstly ruin the finished game and secondly I want some time to get used to the game, not that I care overly about KD but it is one of those things I like to be on the positive side.
Cannot wait for Thursday for go live, but also I am super interested to see that just maybe we might be able to sneak into the preview on the 16th that someone talked about, I am certainly going to try boot up the game tomorrow, just encase.
Also US guys, with a PSN pre order, did you manage to get some pre load action yet?

I think it will be looking at how it works, it'll just be an add on/update to that.
Yeah I suppose. Well I didn't play the alpha so I'm happy we'll be exploring Old Russia once again.
Wouldn't really want to tbh.
Don't want to get hold of the game finally in september and feel like Ive seen it all before.
Old Russia's a brilliant environment, plus more story missions etc.

Still think that we are going to see a level cap of 8 at the initial launch of beta with an increase halfway through the beta to 12. Also think that the app will be a seperate app just for destiny.

Doubt we will know before launch i am afraid. I think it might be 17 grimoire cards TBH.
Maybe they link to emblems and other cosmetics?

That would be cool but the reason why i saw grimoire cards is because these codes came from trading cards themselves. I think they may offer additional lore and also add to the grimoire score total.
Looking at the names this does indeed look like a base set of cards,
I wonder if there are plans in the works for an actual trading card based game for destiny.
I would certainly be up for buying some packs and getting some shiny weapons/emblems or exclusive armors.
It also worked out pretty well in wow with the trading cards that you could exchange for weapons and mounts ect.
Although I can hear my wallet crying from my pocket.....

Sorry dude. It still leaves you 4 days next week though. If the Alpha was anything to go buy it's more than enough time to have a blast.
I'm stuck playing remote on my Vita until Sunday. It still looks great but is no substitute for playing on a big screen.
That would be a massive fuckin' letdown.
