PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

In the deals&offers section the EU web-store mentions a "Gaming on the Go" sale
https://store.sonyentertainmentnetw...-on-the-go/cid=STORE-MSF75508-SUM_FES_VITA_CH
4 pages of Vita games. Nothing with a discount so far but I hope this means there is a big Vita sale coming :)
edit: it's even on the front page of the store

Good find!
There are many games that i would buy if well discounted.

TOTP for 50ppp Vitabros:
Buy Sorcery Saga! It's a really fun game and stars the guy on my avatar lol.

That COD sale is insulting.

I'm not too sure that's going to be a sale since that's nearly every Vita game. I think it's just there to take up banner space on the web store.

Judas's Code, Tri Ace's F2P game looks interesting

This is what I expected it to look like:

Surprisingly, this is also what it looks like:

Looks way better than I expected honestly. Not really enthused by the "MP" on the mission map screen, especially with a triangle button prompt to "recover MP". That reeks of a stamina system with microtransaction refills to me. Especially when there's a countdown timer for "refill". Lol. The description in the article mentions a mission type where you have to "Get [x] headshots", so that's really starting to sound like grindy sort of F2P design.

The cards seem to act as equipment/skills of sorts. There's Weapon, Shield, Skill, and Bonus types shown in the screen. If all the equipment and skill stuff are all going to be cards, then that's definitely where they're going to monetize the game the most - with drops and random rewards.

The article also describes the gun action gameplay as having "simple controls", and it confirms that single player story missions are gun action missions, and using the reward from the missions you can strengthen your cards, and the multiplayer mode uses the cards you have collected and powered up for card battles.

(from the other thread)

After looking at the MC thread Sony must be in a pickle! PSV is their best selling console in Japan and the PS4 is doing worse than the PS3. If only SCEA would advertise the dang thing! And support it! GAH!

Are you asking if it was announced or if the rumor was made public? There was a GAF thread on it last year (IIRC, it was supposed to be Queasy + Media Molecule's tech) and
in
Famous Mortimer backed it up. It hasn't been announced.

Well then, Gamescon is the only possible place to be announced.

I think that "Gaming on the Go" is more like a recommendation page for some Vita games :/.

Would been nice if a lot of those games are 50% off.... o.o

Is Sony gearing up for another PLAY sale?

Rouge Legacy - July 29th
Road Not Taken - August 5th
Hohokum - August 12th
Obligatory 4th Game Nobody Cares About - August 19th
( Or, best case scenario, Helldivers, going by the Cross-Buy theme )

The most telling part is that all of these games have declined to disclose their pricing.

Yosp is probably munching on crow burgers now

They know pretty well their target audience. The japanese media interviews with Yosp after E3 were full of "We´re sorry for not giving more vita coverage, ps4 were the focus, wait for TGS for more vita news". Not the "indies, second screen, ps4 acessory BS, no more first party games" that they feed the western media.

What? Helldivers is a game nobody cares about? Are you kidding me?
It's sad to say but despite all the appreciation for the artstyle it gets i bet that Hohokum will be almost ignored, i won't be surprised if Metrico and Road Not Taken will have a similar fate.

A recommendation to all my US Vitabros: Get that Corpse Party bundle. They're really great games, they can be quite scary and suspenseful. Great sound direction too, be sure to use headphones!

Also, I recommend using a spoiler free walkthrough for the first game. It's rather easy to get stuck progressing because you missed something somewhere and wander around in circles. When that happens the suspense dies out and you can get a little frustrated. The second game doesn't have this problem, it's more of a visual novel and very linear.

The games have a ton of bad endings which can be pretty gruesome. You don't see a lot of gore, but the descriptions and sounds more than make up for it. In fact, because you inevitably use your imagination these scenes play out in your head in the most gruesome way possible.

I highly recommend these games. I bought the first on a whim about two years ago without knowing anything about it and ended up loving it.

I meant it in a different way. Forgot to put in a couple of words extra. But usually, the PLAY sales have a tale end that's a game that nobody cares about. Dragon Ball Z : Battle of Z - Vita 2014. Ibb and Obb - 2013. The Expendables 2 - 2012. The entire PLAY Sale minus Payday - 2011
Hotline Miami 2.
But Hotline Miami 1 isn't even out yet :O
Binding of Isaac Rebirth is also said to be in the final Dev stages...
PS+ game. Maybe for August.

Yep, and when you reach the end of the game with the social link maxed, explore the school a bit....one of the best scenes in the game is there XD!

... I missed that and I did max it out. Damn.
I know who is the owner of the social link though, pretty obvious it's the teach.

Ok :)

I wish P3FES was on Vita. I really want to experience it first before I play P3P but it not being on a portable is annoying because those suit my playstyle better. Suspend and resume is such a godsend for RPGs too.

I like this thought. Hope you're right, as I plan to get all those 4.

That would be great, I'd buy all those games.

I really wish they'd discount Burning Skies properly.

I'm fairly certain I jumped on that for £10 or so in a sale? I think I just thought it would never go Plus and I'd wait forever for cheaper. I'm glad from a Vita-lover perspective that I've experienced it, but it real let down in many ways. The weapons were fun though.

Anyone on the fence about Fight for Fortune should jump on it at that new price imo.

Just ordered XBlaze and One Piece, along with Xenoblade I ordered yesterday. My Vita will never see a shortage of games if it depends on me.

I'm not finding muramasa to be all that enjoyable. I've put 1 1/2 hours into it and already its got more backtracking than i care for, a battle system that is too complex given how slow everything feels, and it just seems to have a bunch of systems in place just to artificially create depth with the cooking and crafting stuff.

I dunno, gonna play it a bit more before giving up on it but so far i'm not really feeling it.

Speaking of games that won't ever be on sale, we'll probably be playing Vita Minecraft on Vita in just over a month. So pumped!

Building battle arenas on-the-go will be awesome. That and all the crazy ideas happen while out and about, not when sitting on a couch.

Obligatory Minecraft Bundle needs to happen this Holiday mention

Slow?! Are you only using slow swords or something?

These are fairly common to Vanillaware games.

Why am I reading so many "Rouge" Legacy? Did Rogue Legacy got it's name changed or something?

Rogue is some kind of cursed word, it's better to avoid calling a class Rogue in a game because you know this legendary typo will prevail once again.

Amazon(US) started charging me tax and I was wondering where does everyone get their retail games from online? I was looking at Newegg and I see they have that super eggsaver option where you don't pay for shipping but I don't know if I want to take that chance, and have a game arrive almost 10 days later. So where does everyone here shop online?
