Hopefully they won't make the same mistakes as Blizzard did. I don't want to get trash legendaries for hours before MAYBE finding one upgrade which has a bad roll anyway.

They changed the UI for when you kill something, weird.

Now it doesn't tell you how much glimmer you got with each kill.

If you see these, then you're in. You could also try to re-apply to it.

Join the clan or the group? Group joining is just fine currently. The issue comes when you set it as your PSN or XBL clan.

Remember before the alpha where everyone was all "meh" at Destiny?

This game has made a crazy 180 degree switch here on GAF. It's impressive. Now we have beta threads pulling in 300/400K views before it even goes live.

That's because they did a horrible job of explaining what the game actually was. Changed when people actually got to see it and play it for themselves.

my hype has been off the chart since reveal. I was going to wait and get a PS4 when the beta was announced. I got an alpha code from the E3 sony theater event and bought a PS4 two days later.

We've had this discussion before, but yeah, they explained it and even played it and somehow folks didn't understand what they were showing.

I mean how can you not understand what the game is about after they show a live stage demo?

I agree with you, it was frustrating to watch it unfold before the Alpha because I knew how promising it was. Bungie took us for a ride, though, and we like rides.

They really skimped on the rpg aspects of the game. They basically showed us a bunch of fragmented gameplay and some trailers with more fragmented gameplay (and like 1 screen with a weapon upgrade). Standard action rpg's or mmo's will state their goal with progression and gear.

double edit: but I'm fine with that, I expect that from a Bungie game, they like surprises. But I understand that a lot of people didn't get it.

If I'm in a clan already will those pop up? I think that's why I'm confused, I figured those would be there if I was in, but then I didn't know if they still pop up in you're in a clan. I did post in the request thread as well. Thanks!

I feel your pain. I watched the GB quicklook just out of boredom and it all suddenly clicked with me.

I saw quality FPS gameplay, loot, vendors, NPC's, XP, gear, hub cities and all the stuff that makes the pleasure centers in my brain go "bzzzz". I need this.

Then I bought a PS4 just to participate in the beta. Feels good man.

They explained it for over a year. It's a shared world shooter with an activity for every mood. While you are on your own journey with your own unique guardian, you may encounter other players at the "crossroads" (public spaces). You'll either choose to join them and take on other challenges cooperatively, or continue off on your own journey.

Problem was what they showed in trailers didn't really demonstrate that dynamic and didn't have much context to go off of. Super abilities looked flashy; some areas looked linear; PvP looked messy, etc. The massive hype train and PR troubles didn't help potential fans either. Context from playing the game - hearing and seeing how it works - has put things in perspective and realigned the footage with their original articles and concept art.

Playing a game and watching it will always be two different things. While you can get a general sense of it from footage, Destiny especially is one where you have to experience your own journey at your own pace in the game to understand what it is. And at that point, you either fall in love with it or realize that it isn't for you.

I'm gonna try again.
I have one more question, since its weird. I pre-ordered the Xbox One edition, got the Beta code, went to B.net and redeemed it and it was a success, UNTIL, I went to my code page, and theres nothing !
