I want a Zoness stage where you're fighting on top of one of the floating tankers. It'd make for some really unique scenery with the search lights in the background, the poisoned atmosphere/clouds, random sea creatures leaping from the sea in the background and maybe some Arwings wizzing by from the foreground to the background at low altitudes.
Main reason I want it though? Dat. Music. I feel like the 3D version has the best version of the first few seconds, but it suffers from the MIDI samples used for the horns. The N64 version however has this great sense of weight to itself, but the audio quality is really low.
This song (and stage) is one of my top 5 gaming memories from childhood so a lot has stuck with me.
actually i did but i always found later on he wasnt really that good :/ or at least in my play through (i guess innies was pretty good but in sacred stones and saleh....okay saleh was pretty bonkers lol)
Haven't you people ever actually looked at the legs of Megaman characters? They have always been these enormous things with no actual articulation at the ankle. This can be pretty clearly seen in the Mega Man X4 cutscenes, for example.
Apparently Lucina was supposed to be an alternate for Marth, but someone was cut during development (Chrom?). Lucina was promoted to her own character to fill the void.
I think I got the idea from you! It was from a few threads back and someone mentioned Zoness and I realized how cool it could be. And, as you said originally, a new remix of that theme would be epic.

Seth pretty much single-handedly breaks the game in half even on hard mode, it doesn't help that Sacred Stones is probably the easiest game in the series

It's really easy for a fake translation to be spread around about a scan...
I'm gonna brag for a bit, and say I did it once back during Brawl's pre-release. There was this scan of Ness in Onett from Melee that was in Famitsu, or some Japanese magazine, I believe the actual message was just the magazine speculating who would return. This was when a lot of people thought Lucas had replaced Ness.
I made up a fake translation on one forum that it basically said "Do you remember the boy with the psychic powers? He's not joining the fight this time around, but can still be seen hanging out in the background of Onett"
I remember seeing it posted around quite a bit, and often no one seemed to actually point out that wasn't what it said. Seems more people know Japanese nowadays.
Anyway, I have a feeling Famitsu is going to showcase a lot of stuff Sakurai will probably use for the POTDs as well for the non-Japanese fans. I wouldn't be surprised if the picture of Kirby with the mask is a POTD soon.

lol ive never really experienced it but hey probably different experiences since people go lol donnel is amazing in awakening but i never found him to be that good :/ also the only true actual fully wtf character i have every experienced in fire emblem previous to awakening is amelia girl could wreck entire monster maps as a knight...she was nuts
i remember quite a number of units from sacred but the one i always remember is myrhh she just kinda shows up and just takes the rest of the game it kinda felt weird .... (i really wish i was a 3ds ambassador so i could have gotten sacred stones :T)
I'm super glad that a lot of people like FE in this thread. However, this is a smash bros thread, so I would like to take this opportunity to remind people that there is actually a Fire Emblem Community Thread.

Haar is incredible, but even he doesn't hold a candle to Seth
The tier list for FE8 isn't
"everyone from best to worst"
it's
"the characters that assist Seth the most from best to worst"
Seth had it all; availability, ridiculously high base stats, awesome supports, best affinity & weapon types. He doesn't falter at any point in the game. He is unquestionably the most broken FE unit of all time. Haar is invincible, but he doesn't join the party from as early as the prologue and his speed is kinda slowish.

The coolest thing about a Zoness tanker stage would be how it handled platforms. Using the crates on the ship and having them slide slightly on the rain slicked surface of the tanker? Having the cranes lift them up and suspend them in air in asymmetrical patterns? Having them be destructible and give out items leading to a "Final Destination" form until the tanker picks up another load of cargo? On top of what I mentioned previously?

I've barely been able to post this last week due to low internet access, but I absolutely loved this week's announcements. Rayman was a bit of a mindfuck though.
Really excited for all three characters, and the leak being (partially but not entirely) wrong gives me hope that a few more characters made it in that the Gematsu rumor didn't predict. I really want to see some more Lucina footage, because from what we've seen it looks like she is more of a "Melee" style clone (Dr. Mario, Pichu, Roy) than a "Brawl" one. (Lucas, Wolf)
Since it appears that Lucina's entire sword is "sweet-spotted," meaning she gets maximum power no matter where she hits... What's the benefit of Marth? Will he have even greater power, but only if he hits with the tip? Or will Marth just become something you play well to show off?
I know you don't mean this to be offensive, but IT HURTS, HEATH, IT HURTS.
Actually, nah. I don't know. Awakening has it's own OT still going strong and that was made before we had an actual series community thread. Since that's the most recent game, that's what we would be talking about, but all of the discussion over that game goes into that OT.
But I mean, hey, the Persona Community thread hasn't had a mainline game since 2008, but it's on its sixth damn thread.

Dude went from barely being able to warp a distance warp down a street in the beginning of SA2, to warping through the atmosphere in the middle of SA2. To being able to not only warm him but giant city sized alien living space ships through the atmosphere in his own game ( granted he had to be super shadow to lift that up ) To being able to warp though dimensions with like one or 2 in sonic 06. And just being able to teleport short distances like dante or virgil with no emeralds . Then you got that whole chaos force thing that still may or may not exist in the comics depending on the reboot.
Essentially yeah, shadow can go anywhere he wants. Technically with that power shadow is beyond the fastest, but Sonic the real winner because he runs faster. Winners don't use performance enhancing natural powers or chaos emeralds kids. Sonic was even talking shit to him about it during a Sonic at the Olympic games tie about how that would be cheating.
As far as metal sonic in that scene goes, in an entire other thing Shadow was in an alternate dimension/World/Plane of existance/ Blaze's fun house fighting metal sonic. He didn't want to destroy or fight him because shadow felt like metal sonic is in the same situation he was in. And he didn't have to be an eggman pawn.
Their fight spanned dimensions, and they wound up in a fight between Sonic and Scourge , that I will not explain because that entirely too much . But leading up to it Tails whipped sanic's ass.
So how would you guys rank the top 5 newcomers you're most excited to try out? For me it's probably:
1) Little Mac
2) Rosalina & Luma
3) Pac-Man
4) Robin
5) Mega Man
What is most compelling to me is how interesting a character's moveset & mechanics are, followed by how much I personally like the character. That's more or less the frame of mind I ranked everyone from.
Little Mac's ferocious ground game being balanced by really weak aerials is intriguing to me and the OHKO mechanic bumps him up to the top. I also loved the 2010 Punch Out game and think they've done a great job with all his different costumes.
Rosalina & Luma is a really great addition in my mind because, oddly enough, she is probably the most fleshed out character in the Mario universe, contrary to space-peach accusations. The way that they have not only implemented Luma with her but also tied in the gravity mechanics of the Galaxy games is just brilliant. Overall I think she has the most inventive implementation out of all the new comers, but falls just shy of Little Mac because I've wanted him as a character since before Rosalina existed.
Pac-Man looks to be very well implemented also, and I think Sakurai absolutely nailed the 3D design of Pac-man. Really clever that he transforms into his limbless arcade incarnation for his final smash and seemingly recovery move. The fact that his taunts and move set also include nods to many other 80's games is a nice addition as well. And of course, I love that the ghosts are part of his moveset. Still hoping for a Ms. Pac-Man alt.
Robin reminds me of Golden Axe characters in the way you could build up magic spells, and I love that. The thoron move looks devastating just like it should and frankly I'm really glad we got this highly unique character instead of Chrom as expected. Definitely one of the more mechanically inventive characters in the game without seeming too clunky. I don't have any experience with the FE series, though, so I have no personal connection to the character. It speaks well to how interesting his moveset is that he is still in the top five.
Mega Man is a great addition to the roster and they definitely nailed his 3d design, just as with pac-man. He blends in with the Smash roster much better than Snake ever did and I love how well his moveset ties into actual abilities from the games.

I don't think it was ever said that Lucina's 'sweet spot' is the whole sword. Only that the damage is normalized over her whole weapon. That means there's no 'sweet spot' or 'sour spot' on her sword where damage can be more or less. That also doesn't mean that her sword is doing equal damage to Marth's tipper on every point on her blade. I think the most likely case is that Lucina's sword, overall, does less damage and knockback than Marth's tipper, but you don't actually have to worry about spacing as much with the character.
