If you have the destiny beta in your library then you should be able to press options on the controller while it's selected.

it would be pretty shitty if the sent out codes only when the beta goes live. people need time to download the client.
Nope. Not from the library.
I have it in the downloads section as well, but when I try to download it gives me an error.
I hope this is all normal and will magically allow me to download, eventually.

What issue in particular? If you are referring to the it saying on the App that you do not have an account, know that Bungie has commented upon this and said they have logged it. It will be fixed soon and just ignore it until then. The message will also disappear once you have a profile in the Destiny Beta.
If you're referring to another problem, you should post in #help on Bungie.net itself. Though keep in mind these updates are going to be a continuous process over the next few weeks. Even their webmaster said that one particular issue I care about deeply won't be fixed until late next week at the earlier. So be patient with them.

I forgot to check my download list before turning off my PS4. Eh, I'll get up in a few minutes to check and see if Beta shows (probably not). I've been having a rough week and I'm glad this is coming soon, need something to pep me up fo'real.

Right away is fine, once you start downloading it doesn't stop if you cancel.

Same. Im tempted to try and preload but I dont want to run into any issues with playing it on my NA account or have trouble linking it with the companion app or anything.

Why? If you redeem your beta code today you have legit access to it. (and you'll probably have to for it to work anyway)
You were just lucky to have it preloaded on your console. And you have the right to change your mind on a preorder.

You hit pre-order on the PSN store and it starts downloading the beta immediately. That's it.
Why wouldn't you be able to cancel that preorder later? You can cancel pre-orders everywhere.
The benefit of the PSN pre-order is that it gives you access to the beta immediately without codes or emails. It's not a workaround, it's just easier.

Bungie.net still hasn't updated with the codes (EU)
Don't expect them for at least 9 and a half hours. Bungie said they'd start going out 10AM PST.

Sony aren't going to charge you for using a beta, especially since all those of us who've pre ordered and then cancelled just so we can download quicker, will be using a bungie supplied code anyway...

Besides, the pre-order in the PSN Store is way overpriced at 70 euros, I should be allowed to cancel it and pick up a copy elsewhere if I'm so inclined.
Pretty sure a pre-order by no means legally binds you to actually making the final purchase. It's a reservation of sorts, which in this particular case happens to give you instant access to the beta.

Like you said, START going out, it will probably go out in waves like the alpha so as to not crash the servers. Some people might be waiting a few extra hours on top of that.
