If I redeem a code for a game on someone else's system under my own NNID, can I transfer the NNID to my own Wii U in the future and redownload my game?

Wii U NNID transfers can only be made though Nintendo support right now and so far it has only been done in cases of "I sold/lost/broke my Wii U and bought a new one". I haven't heard of anyone trying to get a transfer for "I don't own a Wii U and made a NNID on my friend's Wii U" yet.

I wouldn't do that. It will be more of a hassle than it is worth. You have to unlink that NNID from that machine, and link it to yours, and this all has to be done with Customer Service

Fuck. I'm glad I haven't bought anything digitally yet for the U. How long do these reward download codes last for?

Also what does this mean for me when I get my own Wii U, and still want my 3DS and Wii U linked? Goddamn it Nintendo.

So I made Platinum and NES Remix and DKCR 3D are the rewards I'm mulling between, which should I get? I already own DKCR for Wii but I would like to play the extra stages exclusive to DKCR3D. I've heard nothing but good things about NES Remix here and would prefer a game I don't already own, so will probably go with that but need that extra push. So why should I get NES Remix?

You haven't played it and it probably should give you credit towards the DDP.

I imagine eventually they will do it for you, especially if you explain that you've already got a NNID linked to your 3DS. NoA customer service is generally pretty nice, they don't want to make enemies if they can help it (and they can in this case). But still as others said, it could end up being a hassle, so I probably wouldn't risk it unless there's really no 3DS game on the list that you want.

How is replay value? Doesn't feel like "just a minigame collection"?

It doesn't really feel like that at all tbh. I think the best way to describe it is a series of mini-tutorial-like challenges that gradually build in scope and difficulty. And these are balanced with the "Remixes" which are I guess the dessert of the game. Kind of like the rewards for completing the challenges.

Some people hated it because they perceive the game as just a giant, glorified tutorial, and they aren't really wrong about that, to be fair. But if you're a fan of NES games and game design in general, then you'll be more likely to appreciate what it's trying to do. Personally I didn't really grow up with the NES so I played many of these games for the first time in NES Remix. It was a very gratifying way to experience these titles for which I don't have much nostalgia, and find difficult to play in their entirety. When taken as a series of vertical slices though, they become much more playable and enjoyable to me.

There's certainly also some fun to be had from chasing high scores / rainbow clears as well.

That was very helpful thanks, I'm going to get it now.

Well at some point I plan on redeeming my free download code from Mario Kart 8, so I need my NNID linked to my own system. I'm sure if I get his serial #, my s/n for a future Wii U, and provide all details necessary they'll budge.

I don't know about other codes, but the one from the MK8 expires on sept. 30

I hate that no Atlus game has ever been discounted on the PAL eshop

The only one is Conception 2. The rest are handled by different publishers (Code of Princess by the Japanese publisher, Umiha Kawakaze is also handled by them, Ghostlight and the evil NISA Europe who take the game even being available anymore as a sale in itself).

Edit: I see you response. True that. I can't think the European publishers are too happy with the dissatisfaction of potential customers but don't want to compete and essentially be held hostage to Atlus USA sales.

Someone posted the indiegogo link:

$377 8% of goal. I don't think a better engine could start this train...

You should, very entertaining game. Probably took me like 3 hours min to complete it with like 5 or 6 max to 100% with all the different interactive combos.

Looked through the Songs. There are some differences between the US and European Version.

Songs and Bands I actually miss in Wii U Karaoke are there like The Cure, Iron Maiden, The Black Crowes, Crash Test Dummies, Limp Bizkit, U2.

So I hope we'll get them too in the future and of course vice Versa.

Wii U Karaoke has over 2000 Songs while Wii Karaoke Joysound starts with 1000.
Oh what, they're releasing the Wii version here?! I hope we get the Wii U app as well...

Any Brazilian has Batman Arkham Origins on the Wii U? I would like to know if the Wii U version has the Brazilian Portuguese localization that's on the 360 and PC versions. The game is $20 on both Wii U and Steam, but I have $10 credit on the eShop.

(I'm not sure the game has language selection in it's own options or you need to switch the language in the system settings).

I bought it yesterday but my console is set to English. I'll try to set it to Portuguese later today and come back to tell you.

Thanks! My young cousins loved Arkham City and they'll spend some days here soon and a dubbed Batman game would be perfect for them (also, having it on the Wii U would get them off my PC, lol).

Though the presentation looks really cheesy, Strike Force Foxx looks almost like it plays a bit like Defender Stargate.

Where's brain age?
Where's super Mario kart?
Where's super Mario rpg?
Where's secret of mana?
Where's donkey kong land?
Where's Metroid zero mission?

What are you doing NOA!?

I've just checked it... sadly, there is no Portuguese at all (no subtitles, no dubbing). In fact, there isn't any language option in the game, and changing the Wii U to Portuguese has no effect :(

And Choplifter is likely a Stargate clone. Never heard of Choplifter, but I doubt it released before Stargate.

It's like a one year difference. Nobody's taking away from your Stargate comparison (I usually refer to it as Defender II btw), but this is much closer to Choplifter in terms of setting, gameplay (helicopter vs. starship, shooting down instead of horizontally), just everything. It looks like a cancelled Choplifter. (Calling Choplifter a Stargate clone is also very much debatable.)

Let's drop the clone wars, though. :p astrogamer has already posted impressions of SFF btw, seems like it's very repetitive.

Oh well. I'll wait for a Steam sale then.

If it's not too bothersome: are you using a Brazilian NNID? If not, does the language change if you set the system language to French or Spanish? If the language does not change, there's a chance the game uses the NNID region to decide the language.

NOA continues to be the laziest and most incompetent division as always this week.

Downloaded NES Remix last night per zroid's recommendation and am loving it so far. Brilliant compilation, perfecting skills and times is a blast. Really shows how tightly designed NES games are.

Week finished
