I can't wait for the Shulk reveal thread so that we can have a majority celebrating a Xenoblade representation in Smash Bros, some debbie downers not liking him because they wanted someone else or for his moveset, a couple of miscreants not knowing who he is and calling him another anime character, and the rest just wondering where Shahadan is at.

I cut people I felt were unnecessary or I didn't like their inclusion for one reason or another and felt justified removing them.
Falco - Alt for Fox
Lucina - Alt for Marth
Jigglypuff - just not relevant
Pac-Man - never liked his inclusion
Toon Link - Would rather just "Link"
R.O.B - eh... not a fan almost cut G&W for same reason
I actually struggled to fill up some spaces but I ended up being pretty happy with my roster overall.
I want Shulk as much as anyone, but I'll still whine about him being in Smash

I would much rather have Isaac.
However now that I got Lucina I can be reasonable and throw Shuckle Shulk a bone.

I think Nintendo really cares about both, being a part of the FGC and pushing their new game, but between both I don't think give the remotest shit about pushing Melee past Smash 4's release and I don't see why'd they do anything else.

I see it happening if they have a long-term DLC plan for smash 4 or if they still want to 'market' it next year. Nintendo tends to stop marketing titles 3-6 months after release, though. Except they apparently plan on marketing Mario Kart 8 for a year, so who knows.

You know, that's a really good point. The Negative Zone was a cool and unique FS, and it would be a shame to see it gone for good. Maybe that was even the impetus for changing Luigi's FS in the first place, so that two unrelated characters wouldn't have identical ones. Sakurai seems content to let everyone else keep their old FS, after all.
I don't think he thinks their advice is worth using or listening to. Like Miiverse kids.
Wolf fills the rival/villain role and has a far more different moveset compared to Fox/Falco.
It'd be nice if he somehow stops working so hard once smash 4 launches, takes a breather, and maybe sees what competitive smash is all about. It might give him some perspective that may or may not improve future smash bros. I feel like the man learned a lot about respecting a character's history when he created KI:U and I think we see a lot of what he learned in Smash 4. The man is incredibly intelligent and it'd be interesting to see what he would do if he ingrained himself a bit into the FGC revolving around smash.
Not saying he isn't already aware of it, but I don't know how much he pays attention to it all. (or if it's even a good thing that he does)
